Great staff but leading dock was partly blocked by a trailer. Loading bay barely fit my tiny car. Dollies were tiny. Storage area stunk bad like raid. And Worst thing was the locker had bugs in it. Appear to be dead.. but I didn't check. They looked like cockroach bodies but not sure. I canceled my locker. Empty pop bottle up in ceiling grating.
Susan R. | Overall ExperienceEverything was good until the fire. Items were tossed without owner's permission. Elevator out of service since fire so extremely inconvenient when your storage unit is on the second floor. Trying to haul everything down the stairs was hard and time consuming. Anyone affected by the fire and on the second floor should have had a decrease in the monthly fee for the inconvenience of no elevator. Also, if the person who's unit caused the fire, then that person's insurance should be responsible for the loss of damaged items in all units affected.
MaryAnn M. | Overall ExperienceThis was the least professional and most incompetent company I’ve ever dealt with! My stuff was moved to another site without my permission, and then your company refused to return it to the site I had stored it at! The site manager refused to speak to me, and the equipment I had rented did not include the dolly my reservation clearly stated I needed. I originally had my belongings in climate control where your company moved them outside where there was considerable freezing damage done to my belongings destroying large amounts of my things! Not only will I never use your company for anything ever again I will be telling everyone I come across how terrible your services are!

Just a note saying rugs and blankets. Now I find out there has been a flood!! Tried for days to call and get through and left messages that were not returned. Finally got though today and got little to no answers

Richard W. | Overall ExperienceFire in building has caused myself a lot of work cleaning and the loss of damaged goods with zero compensation. Loosing the use of the elevator I had to hire two labours to help move the locker down the flight of stairs to the truck.
KEITH M. | Overall ExperienceThe individuals who helped yesterday were the first group to be helpful. When initially getting my unit I was told I couldn’t get a unit rented when I had an outstanding truck rental (which was full of the items I needed to store). They prompted me to use someone else’s name, I said sure so long as I keep authorization. They ended up not authorizing me. Which would have been ok if there hadn’t have been a fire which caused my first lock to be cut requiring me to find someone to come check in while I was out of town. This is when I found out I didn’t get the authority I requested. To top it off I had my unit lock cut again when they came back to repair drywall. Coming to empty out my unit I could barely access the place because so many uhaul boxes were jammed in the lot. It took us 20 minutes to find the price of a cargo bar cause it was stored in the wrong location and tag was ripped off. (Was the only one left). And the storage area had puddles dozens of garbage cans blocking hallways making it harder to get items out of our unit. The manager who helped me at the end was knowledgeable and I heard he managed the move from one unit to another in my absence, none of my items were damaged even though difficult to move. Otherwise it was a terrible experience.

Maxine S. | First ImpressionsLost my mattress and bed frame and my chais lounge and some priceless mementos in the fire due to black mold. I was originally told the fee payments for my unit would be taken out automatically so I didn’t take much time to pay attention to the withdrawals and I apparently after a representative mentioned that this would be occurring apparently there was a glitch in the system and so they weren’t automatically withdrawing my payments me so I did end up having to pay a lump sum of $293 on top of that they wouldn’t reimburse me for my damaged items. Prior to the fire I had only had my items there for a month..so as of today I have cancelled my unit taken my things and thrown them in the garbage and I’m not happy about the service there.

Vladimir L. | First ImpressionsHonestly this fire really messed things up for a lot of people. I know everyone’s busy, and possibly trying the best they can. Frankly I felt they stole from a lot of people, including myself. I’m not even sure how a propane tank can be “damaged” by water. I had a lot of valuable things in my storage unit that cost thousands of dollars. All of it gone. And all they could do and say is pretty much it’s not there problem. I wouldn’t recommend this storage facility to anyone. I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with how they handled everything. It just seemed so wrong. I personally feel like this place is extremely crooked.
Ariel F. | Overall ExperienceI would give this facility a 0 out of 5, if I could. What a horrendous experience. My storage locker was one of the ones affected by the fire in late summer. I was at work at a remote camp 1,500 km away when it happened, so I took U-Haul up on their offer of free services to empty and clean my storage locker. I had 99% of my personal belongings in that locker, as we had moved from Ontario to Alberta and stored our household until we could find a place to live. Several of my items were disposed of during the cleaning, which I understood. What I'm upset about is the fact that several damaged and moldy items were put back in the storage unit. Most of the items in my unit were filthy when I moved out. Power cords for my printer and espresso machine were thrown out or lost when they reboxed those items. Several items have also gone missing, such as my classic SNES. I've had to throw out additional appliances that were covered in mold. Another annoyance is that, despite being forced to buy a round U-Haul lock when I rented the unit, they cut it off and replaced it with a generic U-Haul lock that I wasn't allowed to use in the first place. Rules for thee, not for me! They also documented the damage to my items for their insurance adjustor, but told me I couldn't claim for any damages. Other than the fire issues, this location is incredibly cramped and busy. The staff seem to be burnt out and unmotivated (can't hardly blame them). I tried to access my unit at 7PM one day, and got stopped by a security guard (access was supposed to be until 10PM!). Overall, a terrible terrible experience. I'm out several thousand dollars due to water damage caused by flooding from a blocked drain in their parking lot, and I've had to clean and disinfect my belongings after their "professional services" handled things (sometimes with sticky fingers). I'll never use U-Haul again, and this wasn't my first cross-country move with them either.
