Be more informative to new customers about everything!! For example; I did not know I had to buy my own lock for the 10x10 box truck I rented , I thought they all came with a lock ? So every truck except the 10x10 doesn't come with one. So I the customer needs to buy a lock for that 1 time I'm needing it for , Oh and I also rented a hook on closed 4x8 trailer and guess what?? I needed another lock for that one as well!! Also there is no one to guide you to your vehicle or whatever you rented and let you know how everything works or give you a quick rundown on any valuable information I should be aware of. Please U-Haul get locks on all box trucks not just some of them, and please please be more informative with your customers over the phone and especially in person and walk them to the truck and show us how what or where on the vehicle or equipment!!!! Because they just send you out there and pretty much say â€œ good luck â€œ. And also I believe when renting any box truck at least at the very least a utility dolley should be part of the price because it's pretty much inevitable.Rafael L.

The booking process was horrible! First location was set for a 9 PM pick up, on arrival (no notice from u-hall) the vehicle had no key. It wasn't until I tried to log into the system and had to call in that I found out. The lady was great, got me to another location, the location was not available and I couldn't get into the system, had to call in again, the man was good but couldn't get me into the truck pick up. (2.5 hours of time and additional driving for no vehicle). I Had to reschedule for the next day pick up from an actual person at the location, only to find the vehicle being held for me also had no key!! They Put me in a different truck, I drove off the lot, arrived at my destination loaded the truck, started to the drop off residence only to have the vehicle start making weird noises and the check engine light came on. Vehicle started acting up, got it unloaded and took it to the original dealer only to find they'd closed early for holiday, (web said they would be open until 7), had to drop off with no assistance. This rental was HORRIBLE!!! I had to go rent a trailer from a different company due to this truck not working and no one around to switch units. Your online system is hideous!! I was never told of a problem with the first vehicle until I'm standing out in the rain trying to pick it up. I could not say enough about how awful this experience has been.Gregory Q.

The General Manager was the worst didn't greet customers, talked aggressively to each customer and told each of us about fraud and treated all customers like they were the once who committed the fraud then overcharged me for the rental and won't answer the phone. I left the vehicle to run some errands and when I got back 3 tires where flattened . When I inquired at a nearby location , I was told the vehicle was reported stolen . I contacted the original pick up location to inform them and they said it would be taken care of and I was reassured I would be issued a full refund . That was far from the truth because I was in fact charged as if I had the use of the vehicle for all the rented days and mind you I had payed for additional coverage on the vehicle . The truck was a piece of trash rolling down the road. I got two corners away and the fuel gauge dropped an 1/8 of a tank which meant that I got the pleasure of putting fuel k to the vehicle that I didn't use. I wasn't sure if the truck was going to lose a tire, blow an engine or what. Poor check in service. Drop the truck in line and leave the key in it and we'll send you your final bill? This was at 2:30 in the afternoon and nobody offered to help check it in.scott B.

The truck I reserved on a Thursday (for Saturday use) was not there at the promised reservation time. The person who had our truck was not going to be back for another hour (hers was due back an hour before we even got there). We were under a time crunch, and couldn't just wait around for her to return. The gentlemen helping me out, gave us a larger truck for the same price (which was nice), but the additional equipment (dolly) I also reserved was not available. And once we got in the truck, the gas was literally on E, so the very first thing we had to do, was go get gas. In order to improve for the next customer, maybe have a few extra trucks available in case this example presents itself again. Also, have extra dollys as well. What was the point of reserving everything ahead of time, when nothing was available by the time we got there. I appreciated the gentleman who helped accommodate us, but I don't think the situation should have presented itself, as that was just additional stress not needed.Rachel E.
The windshield was so dirty on the inside that you could barely see out driving into the sun and spilled coffee on the passengers side of the van. Also a change oil soon light was on. The main thing was that couldn't get a price per mile and the sign behind the desk that said 29 cents per mile was taken down 30 minutes after I had asked if that was the per mile price. I reserved a 20' truck, a utility dolly, & appliance dolly 6 weeks or so in advance. The pick up location was switched the day before because the original location did not have the equipment I reserved. The new location was completely out of the way & inconvenient, a LOT further away from where I needed the truck, AND did NOT have all of the equipment I reserved. The clerk was unbothered by this fact. Unbothered at all. Could not have cared less about this situation. Shrugged her shoulders & said, "we don't have it". She just kept repeating it. I felt blown off and disregarded. They did not pull the truck to the front. The worker who walked me to the truck which was stored BEHIND the building, couldn't unlock the lock & said he'd get help. My sun and I were able to open it. We drove the truck to the front to return the lock. They asked where we got it from, from what truck, where their employee was, etc. ???? The guys who hooked up my truck didn't secure it well enough that the straps in the wheels came undone. Luckily we pulled over when we did and was taught how ti adjust it. This truck was the biggest, most unsafe, rickety-ass piece of shit I've ever driven. It shouldn't be on the road. The service brakes light came on multiple times, the truck leaned when driving straight down a smooth road and I couldn't get ahold of anyone in roadside assistance. So I limped it back to the store. The self return app required too many photos. The employees were helpful at checkout but your equipment is far from safe.Honor E.
The keycard/keypad NEVER worked, and I'd set the alarm off every time I opened my storage unit. I replaced my keycard several times, and entering the unit number wouldn't work in the system either. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was extremely annoying...and made me wonder what the point is of the additional alarm if we ignore it anyways. At 10:30 am 10/7/22, the guy greeted me at the equipment return area, took my keys and told me I was good to go and he would take care of the rest. As I was walking away, he was walking around the truck. At around 2:45 pm I got a call saying that I had left the lock on the truck. I had left home around noon and was halfway to Arkansas and told them that they could just cut the lock off. The lady said ok and hung up. She called back stating that I was responsible for the lock and to either call a lock Smith or I would be charged daily until I returned. I asked why couldn't they cut the lock like they do on the storage units when they take possession of it. I was told no. I told them that I would call them back because I need to find someone to go by and cut the lock off. I called back and given a choice to have someone call me back and I accepted. I got a call back later on in the evening and I explained to the lady what was going on. She said that it didnmake si ce what I was told and told me thT she was going to get everything straighten out and I was holding on the call and she came vack and said that everything was OK and I would not get charged extra and not to worry. This morning, Sunday, October 9th, I got an email showing a receipt where I was charged for two extra days for a truck that was returned on the day at the time it was supposed to be returned. I was told that I would not be charged but I was. They too my $100 deposit plus $25 off my card. I felt as though I was lied to about everything starting at being told that they would check in the equipment. Had the employee checked the truck in when he was supposed to, I would have known about the lock before I left town heading to Arkansas and could have gone by and taken it off. The Uhal locations, I have previously visited and rented from had the truck ready with the equipment in the back of the truck. I had to go out in the lot all the way around the building to pickup the truck and than come by the office to pick up the equipment. All in all the facility and employees were fine. I didn’t like being told There wasn’t a medium unit available but I could get 2 small unit for the same price. Then after moving in, I was charged for the next 8 months for two small units and it wasn’t negotiable. I was never shown how to card swipe in and out to unlock my unit so the alarm wouldn’t go off. I finally went back to the office an asked what the difference in the two different card swipers were and figured it out. Lastly, one of my units wouldn’t slide to close and lock without 15 minutes of trying different things. Because I could not check-in online, I could not get instructions to drop the truck off after hours. It should not be too hard to put up a sign about how to drop off a truck after hours. I reserved a climate controlled space online and the price shown reflected that choice. When I got to your storage site I was told that no climate controlled spaces were available and that my reservation did not indicate climate controlled even though the price shown matched that of a climate controlled space of the size I requested online.
