All Uhaul locations are not equal. If you're lucky enough to live near Woburn go the extra mile to deal with this location. Amilcar (the GM) goes above and vey for all of his customers. I rented a one way rental and was told by Uhaul I had to go to Saugus to pick it up even though I requested to pick up in Woburn. Amilcar drove to Saugus and brought the truck to his location for me. Then to my surprise he texted me a week later to follow up and ask how my trip went. Moving is stressful enough so do yourself a Davy and go see Amilcar.Anthony D.

I was charged for the estimated cost before I even returned the Uhaul to store 0083728 on time. I then authorized them to charge my card when I returned the truck and the charge was less. I hadn't realized I got charged twice until I got home. U Haul of Woburn did not provide me with a written contract or the starting milage. They tell you the fuel tank amount and when the truck is retuned they claimed a different starting milage. They claim in my case the tank was 3/4 full when the tank was 1/2verbally. Then they ask you if you have evidence of all the above when they don't have any either..I'm still in dispute process. Have information somewhere about the auto check in app not working if you do not show up at the exact time that you made the reservation. I assumed since I was using the app the time for pick up did not matter. The app is available 24/7. This was a negative experience from start to finish. We waited thirty minutes to drive the truck off of the lot because it was not ready when we arrived. The location said they only had 7 furniture pads when we had reserved a dozen, though they did only charge for six. The worst part was that the snow was not removed from the top of the truck and fell heavily throughout the dayâ€”on the loading ramp, on the furniture we were loading, and a large, heavy amount fell on my head and neck. When we came to return the truck, the employee did not wear a mask and was not behind a barrier. We will go elsewhere for our next move.VICTORIA R.

If you want to see how flawed the online rental system is, find a stranger and ask them to rent a truck online, and watch how inefficient and frustrating the process is. Step one, fill out tons of forms on uhaul.com at home (you think you are getting set up for a seamless pickup). OK so you arrive at Uhaul and you log in, and click pick up the truck. It says OK find truck 1946XX. So I leave my car parked in the parking lot and get out in to the extreme cold weather and I find my truck. Surely there's some remote key box that will pop open when the app gives the wireless signal. OK it's freezing out so I get inside the truck because the app said to find my truck and why would I need to find the truck if I wasn't getting in? Nothing has been explained to me. I log in. Wait what?! I have to enter all my information again? Am I setting up a duplicate reservation by accident? I need to take a picture of myself now? I am just now starting the rental process? Oh, I was supposed to find the truck but not walk to it? Oh the process is not really online, I still need to go inside and talk to someone (COVID) to get a key. Someone has to call me? The online process is less convenient because all of the employee work gets dumped on the customer, I need to verify gas before and after, I need to agree to before and after photos of damage. There's so much potential to make this process easy on the customer, but it's currently a failure, I will try a different company next time.Alex M.

Malden location sent us to this location because the truck I reserved a few weeks before moving day had no heat and black smoke coming out the back conked out 3 times before reaching end of driveway. The employees at the malden location located me another truck in Woburn. When arriving in Woburn it was a smaller truck . So it made moving day stressful because we had to load up other vehicles. And the extra driving time to get the truck from Woburn location instead of the Malden location which was right around the corner. So even though the employees went above and beyond the experience was very stressful because I had a timeframe , and the extra traveling time didn't help. It was not clear where our van was when we came to pick it up. If you are offering contactless pickup, there should be obvious signage of where to look for the vehicle. We only found it after wandering around the lot. Also, you should warn people that the pickup process takes a significant amount of time. If I had known, I would have come earlier. I first came over to inquire about units, as for online, they mention units that are split and get other questions answered. The young man that helped me was extremely helpful. I was able to make a decision on which size unit would be the best meet my needs. I am ready to move in. Thank you.Sarah B. | First Impressions
I appreciate the free trial, but the problems I experienced began when I first checked in to my unit. The U-Haul website states that storage hours are until 10 pm and that I should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to closing on my first visit, but when I arrived at 6:45 hoping to store a mattress I was told that the units close at 6:55 and I would not have enough time to enter my unit, forcing me to return with my mattress. Additionally, shortly after beginning my free trial I was sent a bill for the first month's rent. I had to call to resolve this. I was then charged $3.65 without being told what the charge was for. Finally, I had a lock on my unit that I did not know U-Haul considered insecure. A new lock was placed on my unit without notifying me, causing me an embarrassing delay when I next tried to access my unit with one of my clients. Again, I appreciate the free trial (and lock), but I feel some improvements must be made, beginning with updating the website to reflect this site's accurate storage access hours.Andrew Y. | Overall Experience

Staff experience in the pst was very good. This time I was assigned a rental unit that was not available. Staff came back and assigned another rental unit, which was also locked, but he actually came without me needing to back to the office to remove the lock. There was a rat poison container in the unit which I gently pushed with my foot into the hallway. I did ask about a lock and the person helping me said there would be one for me in the unit, but there was not anything there. I will come back today with some additional storage materials and I guess will purchase a lock at the front desk. This rental is currently in my name, but I will try to switch it to our company name and address online. One thing I would like to point out which I did not like was that some of the staff was not wearing masks. That is kind of worrisome. I also saw several customers that did not wear masks.
