The initial phone contact from UHaul told me that I could pick up a box on a trailer from a location that does not carry UBoxes, then did not follow through with a reservation or contact me back. I arrived at the location as planned, and was told that I had no reservation. I was then contacted by the Woburn team, who redirected me to a different location, solving that issue quickly. Hailey was excellent in this moment. I ended up renting 4 UBoxes total, one more than initially planned, but ended up paying a total of $2700 after being initially quoted $1200 for 3 UBoxes, including rental and shipping - over DOUBLE my initial quote. The payment process was fairly opaque, being charged in multiple pieces. I had guaranteed delivery by 10/13, 13 days after the final Ubox pickup on 10/1, but this was delayed to 10/16, which delayed my move by 3 days and made my family have to use PTO to move. I was told by Brittany at the Boston office that due to late arrival that I would be entitled to $50 per UBox for each day they were late (after 10/13). Then, I learned later from the Maryland team that it was $50 per day total, not per UBox - a difference of $300. I also could not have the UBoxes delivered to my address, as DC does not allow more than 2 on the street at a time - which UHaul did not disclose to me when making the reservation. I ended up hiring movers to pick up the UBoxes from where they had been shipped to (an HOUR from my new home), deliver them, and unpack them - which cost an additional $950. Overall, I chose UHaul UBoxes because I believed the $1200 quote I was given would be cheaper than the $3000-5000 quoted by a moving company. After all was totaled, my moving costs were over $3000 - within the range of a moving company - only, I my family and I spend days packing all the UBoxes ourselves, only for them to delay our move. You insisted I buy your specific lock for the storage locker. Only when I returned with the truck at 6:00pm and unloaded everything into the locker did I try to install the lock and discovered that the door latch is slightly misaligned. The lock wouldn’t fit. The app didn't work and the attendant "offered" to close out my order. They told me to leave the keys in the car. To my surprise, I see a fuel charge with my digital signature attached to it. I returned the vehicle at the gas level that I received it. Currently trying to get my money back.Clive G.
The people who drive the tractor trailers are incredible! The driver who picked up my U-Box zipped up a curving driveway that friends of ours complained about driving in car - and he did it backwards! The man who dropped off my box had it perfectly in place in six minutes. Bravo!Paul S.

The cargo van I rented was not ready at the start of my reservation. I expected it to be parked out front, but it wasn't. It was actually between two other vans far back in the lot. Also one of the tires was low on air, had to immediately drive back to get air.WILLIAM C.
Only issue was being unable to return truck using mobile check-in because the cell service there is a dead zone, and the Uhaul WiFi wouldn't work. Thankfully we were helped by a wonderful employee, Devonte Cooper, who was kind, friendly, and helpful. He was wonderful!!Leslie R.

I tried picking up the uhaul later than the designated pickup time and mobile app didn't let me do it. It didn't even notify me that I couldn't pickup after the pickup time. That was an issue for me because i was trying to pickup at 8am on a sunday and couldn't do it until the store opened at 8.30an ( it was supposed to open up at 9am but good thing the rep showed up early)Georgios C.
Movers did a great job but the pick up of the UBoxes was terrible. In Massachusetts it Took two hours to get them in the morning so my move was delayed. I realized I was supposed to take speedometer before and after pics. Too late. Keys in dropbox. Then I had recieved my bill that originally was $65 was now $150!!! Customer service rep didn't know how to use the computer properly and wanted to charge us $420 for a one-way which has earlier been quoted to us on the 800 number at $59. We had to leave the service counter to make a reservation by phone (at 800-GO-UHAUL) to get a reasonable rate, then we went back to the counter once we made a reservation. Mr. Ruiz, the GM, helped us in a pinch when Hertz rental did not have a cargo van for Aug 30--Sept 1 off campus move-out-move-in. Mr. Ruiz found a 10' box truck for us on 8/30 at 9 am in the morning that we could use for 3 days--Boston has no rentals available at this busy moving time. Mr. Ruiz saved us from a moving disaster for our college student. We are so grateful for his professionalism and dedication to find us a rental vehicle. First, the Regional dispatch people (new England and SoCal were excellent and very helpful. The store level people are not at all helpful and do not know how to handle this service at all (UBox) 1) Was notified at 5pm the night before that I needed to go to a different location to load mu UBox. Really???? 2) Provided a contact name and number at the destination location, but they kept contacting me (3,000 miles away). 3) Took a week for them to deliver and pick up at the destination location, which cost me an extra month storage fees. 4) Customer service wait times at the stores are very long (20+ mins) and then all they do is tell you someone will call you back in a day or two. 5) Kept charging my credit card for storage fees AFTER the box was returned. 6) Wait times on "800" customer service lines also very long (30+ mins).David F.

The system was down the day that I rented my unit. Because of this some of the units that were thought to be open were actually taken.
