I was charged 89.10 $ for the truck and milage on 06/01/21 and it was paid by my debit card on the same date. Today , they have charged me again for 87.48 $ , while according to my invoice I had paid completely and it was cleared. So I don't know why I am charged again. Good Afternoon, U-Haul Contract 95935443 I rented a Uhual van on Saturday 5/29 at 6pm. I returned it later that evening, I followed the appropriate steps and took the necessary pictures. I prepaid $51. This includes the rental of the handtruck and 10miles. I easreturned the vehicle, uploaded the photos which showed my gas was exactly the same as I left it, drove the mileage, the handtruck was in the vehicle. I was overcharged for a missing handtruck $150, 4.50 Gas, cleaning fee and taxes. The rental jumped up from $51 to $223. I called the manager who removed the handtruck fee but didn't remove the gas fees. I left it alone. The balance was $83. I reviewed my bank account and I am being charged $91.06 and $25.51. This is the 3rd error. The manager was helpful over the phone when I first called to make the complaint. I emailed her and am waiting for a response. I am not frustrated and furious for all these fees and deductions from my account. I thought the staff and process was easy but the handling of the fees may be a system issue. Please resolve and refund appropriately. At this point I should be only charged my initial charge of $51. For all the inconveniences. The cleaning only fee was a simple vacuum which I am sure you clean all your vehicles. The gas may have shifted while they turned on the vehicle but at the time of my return it was exactly at 1/2 ! In an attempt to be â€œtech savvy,â€ the rental process is painfully complicated and completely unnecessary. The process to drop off after hours, is laughable. What happened to just dropping the key off. Next time I will seek a rental company with a simple, uncomplicated rental system. Also the counter was woefully unstaffed. We were given a vehicle that has hazardous tires and a quarter tank of gas and told by employees to just drive safetyâ€. The truck barely made it from NY to Massachusetts without skidding the entire way through. I demand a refund. This was terrible service. The Truck Which I rented had a stench of stale cigarette smoke and was very unpleasant to say the least throughout the entire ordeal.$39.99 a day + $149.00per mile is bullshit. Employees disputes are poorly handled -primarily because management is either unavailable or completely disengaged regarding customer concerns. There is simply no incentive for the employees to perform basic tasks such as closing an account or printing a receipt. They don’t care; care being the operative word. Karina Diaz was the absolute best! Had it not been for her things would have been disastrous! My only regret is that I was not aware that I could have been associated with her from the beginning of problems that could have been avoided, like my unit being damaged by water. Instead I depended on other workers that promised to attend to the problem and did not! She is a "Gem" though. This branch is better organized than the Homefield location. They put a little red sticker on my card that had my unit number. Nice touch. They look like they take covid seriously with barriers and the charge card units 6 feet away from the staff. I really liked the Yonkers location. At Homefield I’ve had to go to in 6x to fix my card. I hope the 7th time is a charm. Staff allowed a customer to stay in store without a mask yesterday. Horrible. Please get the Homefield location to take covid more seriously there is a rise coming. And help them with workflow regarding fixing swipe cards. A customer should not have to go back 6x to get the same issue fixed. I had 2 storage units, one for 3 years and the other for 5 years or longer. The facility was ok as far as cleanliness. Could do a better job with extermination- vermin and insects. After emptying my unit, I found mouse droppings in boxes. The elevator was broken for several days which was a huge inconvenience and no compensation was offered. I've had many problems with this place. Its hard to get staff on the phone and if you do get them on the phone, its because they are calling you because you're late on a payment. They'll keep calling back to back till you pick up when they want their money. I've been a customer for years and several times they've done repairs or upgrades and had debris from the ceiling fall all into my unit. I paid my unit late once and they left their lock on my unit for 3 weeks. They charge a "maintenance fee" for cleaning the storage facility but some how debris always made its way in my unit.
