The only problem we had occurred when we tried to drop off the truck at the other end of a one way rental. Turns out we were given the wrong truck (i.e., the truck was not that which was listed on our contract: it had different mileage,etc. However, we were well treated at both ends of our trip.

The first place where my reservation was didn’t gave my truck, the second place left a lock on the roll up door so had to return to the rental site. Overall took 3 hours from original reservation time to load anything.

Poor communication from the staff. They were not clear on what my total would be. I purchased two extra days for my cross-country move and I thought I was paying for the days up front as they had said but had to pay for them when I dropped off. Either way I ended up paying almost $200 more than was quoted on the website. I have used uhaul countless times over the years and this was one experience I was very unhappy with!! Next time I will look into other options before blindly picking this company.

My wife and I needed a small moving van to take items from our storage unit to our new home. The entire process was easy and affordable. We had a very positive experience except for on thing. After we paid and signed the rental agreement we did the walk through with the employee and were ready to drive away. But, he said something about needing something for the... something. It was very vague. So we waited. And waited. After about 10 minutes I walked inside to find out why we couldn't leave but there were no employees in the building and the other customers were just standing there. After a couple of minutes a different employee came in and I told him that the previous guy said that he needed to get something for my van before I left. That employee said something else that was vague to me and that I should continue to just sit and wait until the first employee came and did whatever he needed to do. So, I went and sat in the driver’s seat of the van and listened to the radio. After a few more minutes the first employee came out and did something to the cargo area of the van and then came to the driver’s window and told me that all was well and I could leave. I have no idea what he did. I saw nothing different before and after. But, I was a little frustrated that what should have been an in-and-out transaction took nearly a half hour. In the future we will still use U-Haul Redlands, Alabama Street but it was a little frustrating in that we had to sit in the parking lot for 10 minutes for some reason that is still unknown to me.

Not only was she on point with the whole process, but she made me feel confident and comfortable about my rental as well! I never thought I would say I had an excellent experience at Uhaul experience but I can honestly say I did!

New smartphone based check in not even mentioned at check out time. Rented easily 25 UHaul trucks in last ten years. This was a significant change that I should have been made aware of fir after hours return. Left two messages following day to Clark day return processed correctly. No return phone call. Renting another truck mid November. Hope next time smoother.

Sonya I believe was her name was extremely helpful, courteous, and very personable. Before going in to pick up my uhaul I had a not so pleasant experience on the phone with an employee from another location so when I went into this location I was nervous that I was going to have the same kind of experience but that was not the case. Sonya had me in and out in less than 10 minutes, had all my questions answered, and was very thorough. I will definitely reccomend this location specifically to anyone i know who’s in need of a uhaul!

This was a one-way drop-off. The workers completed the check-in well, however, the system of using a verification code and taking a picture involved with GPS was confusing and unnecessary. It created anxiety at the end a long day of moving, which was unfair to the customer. This a corporate complaint having nothing to do with the retail representatives.

They did not have the keys to the truck that they has reserved for me, even though the truck was on the lot. They then gave me a 5-foot larger truck with a discount, but the size was much larger than they needed and I would have preferred the size I originally reserved.

Employees are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly. Some trucks aren't maintained - the truck I rented had faulty side mirrors that were loose and changed position due to road vibration as well as a a faulty fan switch for the AC that would sporadically shut off blowing from the dashboard vents. Windshield was not clean when I picked up the truck, causing haze and visual impairment when driving.

They didn’t have my truck on Friday at 7 am as promised.. they said come back at 6pm and they would have it. I came back at 6pm and they told me to come back in an hour. I went and ate at the burger place next door and came back around 6:40 on.. they did I never showed up so they gave my truck to someone else.... then promised me free mileage and 50.00 off rental but charged me full price

We had a nail in a front tire. It didn't go flat, but we were concerned on the freeway. Also the truck only had between 1/8th and 1/4 tank of fuel which meant we had to gas it up before using it.

I was a bit confused , when I made the reservation online, because the location was not the one I chose. The next morning, after receiving a text, I was able to confirm my reservation at the location I preferred. Chris, the person I worked with for both the pick up and drop off, was diligent in quickly and efficiently processing everything.

I reserved a trailer for 9 am, however I received a text message the night before I was supposed to pick it up that it would not be ready until noon. This should have been made clear at the time of the reservation, not when it was too late to find another vendor. This is a dishonest practice that is designed to prevent the customer from going with another company.

I rented about a month ago and was told no small trucks available. So I took large 30' or so truck to pick up one refrigerator. Before I left noticed at least 4 small trucks. When I came back none of the trucks were gone, despite the attendant telling me none of the small ones were available.

The staff were fine (friendly), but the location was understaffed so there was a long wait to get the van. I, like most of the other customers in line had opted for the "no wait" online reservation (which is a false advertisement!), but the app didn't work well and we couldn't locate our van. Even if the app had worked, our van was double parked, so we would have had to go through the wait in line process anyway as did the other customers with the "no wait" online reservation. The price of the rental was way too much for the poor service. As I mentioned, I don't believe it was the staff who were at fault--it's Uhaul. I definitely won't rent from this company again.

My wife and daughter had to return the trailer for me. Sorry I didn't get the names, but the tall black guy with dreads was so nice to them. He joked with them about having to back the trailer into a drop off spot, and then did it all for them. They were very much put at ease by this gentleman. Overall great experience with U-Haul! Had to drive 40 miles to get a one way rental. Didn't get the trailer I wanted. That one is in Running Springs.60 miles and up in the mountains.seems like a POOR location for that . Then you failed to give me an address to return it.

Reserved a 26' rental two days prior. But was given a 20'. I don't believe this was the fault of employees. Maybe a glitch in the system. I did have to make a second trip, but was compensated for that. Over all, the guys there did a great job. Very polite, and worked really quick. I have rented there several times and have never had a major issue. However the rear view mirror never seems to work. Ha ha! ( Just kidding ). The guys there did a great job. Thanks. Steve.

Too many computer problems. When making reservations over the phone the computer kept freezing up. Then when in the store to actually purchase the truck the computer wouldn't accept the information put in and it took over 15 minutes to get it to accept it.

Electronic pick up was anightmare, was not informed i would have to have a smart phone & data capability, then when we went & got that, your system didnt work, we tried for 35 min, so ridiculous. Finally the store opened (why on earth did u make my appt when the store was closed??? You even moved my appointment TO that location from a store that I later discovered was ACTUALLY OPEN at our reservation time.) many people in the 20 minute line we went to wait it were having the same problem- no data, no smartphone, wondering why uhaul made a reservation when the store was actually closed, didn't have an option to deny electronic checkin and instead select a pick up time when thebstore was OPEN. We were 50 minutes behind schedule for a 2 hour rental. This was EXTREMELY frustrating and inconvenienced people who were counting on us. I wish I had the name of the first two people I spoke with on your customer service line, the first listened to our situation and said, just a moment, & sent me back to the que instead of helping me, yay what great service. The second one we apparently woke from a nap and she was so quiet and slow it was difficult to get a full sentance out of her. She ended up NOT being able to help us & told us we shouldn't have made that type of reaervation if we didn't know how to use a smart phone...well NOBODY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE ONE, I even received messages that said, "avoid the check in line, enter your info ahead of time" well if there was never a check in line in my future, why would you tell me that? Also, Karen with electronic check in kept saying the account wasn't in my name. I logged back in & yes, it surely was. This has been the most stupid experience with customer service in a long time. The guys who opened up early to cleam some trucks wouldn't help us, they "didn't do rentals, just clean trucks," so howcome later when they finally actually were open, these were the people behind the counter helping people and going out to dispense the trucks? FIX YOUR SYSTEM, allow people to purposefully select cell phone check in and fully inform them what that means and prepare them for the process. If I had known, I either would not have rented or would have made my rental and subsequent arrangements for the day during a locations open business hours.

Only put a hold on the $ that was actually used. I returned truck on Friday as scheduled & they have the original amount of $80 on my credit card, plus the amount I was actually charged of $60 when I returned the truck. Which blocked me from using my card for other moving expenses. So very disappointed with that.

Trailer was dirty inside and outside. Had mud all over outside and hadn't been swept clean on the inside. There was shattered glass and it was dirty. However I would rent from this location again because Reuben and Frank were AMAZING! They are wonderful people. Israel and Robert are good but Reuben was so wonderful to work with. He was very, very helpful and really went out of his way as did Frank upon return. Thank you both for all of the help. Their service more than made up for the filthy trailer.

This was the absolute WORST experience I have EVER had with ANY company!! Fuck uhaul, I will never use it again because of those incompetent, rude, lazy, employees at Redlands Uhaul. Everything was terrible- I had to call about 30 time and still my order was WRONG and LATE. They tried to scam me for more money to get it there on time, and when I said no- they needed to pay to get it there on time- SUDDENLY there was "no way" to get it there on time. I was on hold a million times and kept being transferred to people again and again, and people were supposed to call me back but never did. It was HORRIBLE. I will tell everyone I know who moves to NEVER use uhaul again!!

I was not given an obvious warning that if I returned the vehicle with less gas in the gas tank than was originally in the gas tank, that I would be charged a comparatively high price per gallon for the fuel which I had used plus a $30 refueling fee !!! Yes, this information IS in the "fine print", but I feel the Customer should have this explained clearly by the U-Haul Clerk at the time of rental !!!

The employees are very slow. There was 3 people in line,in front of me. They had been in line for over a half hour. I waited in line for about a half hour and I already had my van reserved. I will avoid going back to this location again. Also, there was a very rude employee. He lost the company a customer. He then proceeded to go to the restroom and started screaming from inside about how someone "blew it up" and didnt flysh the toilet.

I used the self-check in and self-check out. The check-in process was laborious. I had a great signal on my phone but it took a very long time for the photos I uploaded to be verfied. And, upon completion of the online check-in process, there was no clear way to bypass the lines and get my key. Overall, the check-in took over 20 minutes. By that time, everyone that was in line when I arrived had already left with their vehicles. ON THE OTHER HAND, the check-out process was a breeze. That took 5-10 minutes and the online verification of photos was very fast (same location, same phone as used during check in). And, it was clear where to put the key.

I was told to I would get a credit of eighteen dollars to my account if I dropped off the truck w 1/4 of gasoline which I did... but now they are refusing to give me the credit and saying that I did not bring back the truck w 1/4 of gasoline. ?? The online reservation for pick up outside of regular hours works. Need more information online so that people know what the exact steps are when they pick up the rental out side of normal office hours when no one is there. The process worked out great. The van's seats were both stained with some kind of liquid (body sweat?). Not sure what it was but it was gross. The van's "Oil Change Needed" light also popped up soon after pick-up. But the guys behind the counter were SUPER AWESOME. Very friendly and helpful.

The manager was late to work. There was only 1 person (Sonya)handling more than 5 customers at a time. No towing supplies for our hitch were on shelves. Sonya had to stock shelves in between helping customers. (She gets 5 stars!) A new employee was there waiting on the manager to get there to train him (he waited over 2 hours). The car transport trailer we got was damaged and the next morning at 2am when we were leaving, we had to call their road service because the wiring was too old and stopped working. This set us back a whole day for our trip. We were leaving early to get through the desert before it got too hot. Basically, they didn't checkout the trailer before they rented it out. The trailer was being dropped off while we were there to pick up. This shop is basically poorly managed.

Your policy's suck! I will buy my own truck just so I don't have to put up your "policy" next time I need something. Don't bother contacting me, your policy isn't gonna change and that is a problem. If you go past your return time by 1 minute because you are a mile away sitting in traffic and calling explaining that I am just down the road but stuck in traffic and , I'll be a few minutes after, and you charge for a whole day additional, I asked if I could get an hourly rate for the extra time and you said nope, pay for another day. Now I know why you haven't raised your rates in forever... you make more money with your "policy's"! I'm so done.

This place charged me an extra day because the place I picked up never told me that I have to drop it off the before or exact time as when I picked up the trailer 7 days later. Beware that 7 days means seven days to the exact time as when picked up. It does not mean by the end of the day.

Service was very slow. The most frustrating part was confirming twice in advance that we wanted a dozen furniture pads with the truck. They were not in the truck - we were told it would be another extended wait before they could be obtained. What? Why couldn't someone just run over and grab some furniture pads? Very frustrating. That was their mistake - they should have been more motivated to fix it and get us going. It had already taken almost an hour to get the truck in the first place.

There should bea designated line, I had a reservation and was waiting in line as I wanted to get started with my move. There was an incident where a man's reservation did not go through and no truck was available for him. He wasn't understanding the process. When a man walked right up to to the second window when it cleared, with "just a quick question" , which wasn't , and I glad to endure the drama at the first window. When the walk up guy was done, he apologized to me, and I said, yes, that was not a quick question. But the guy who waited on me, got me in and out quickly and I was on my way! It's the customers that need guidance. I was grateful that they stayed open until 8 pm, which gave me incentive to speed up my move. I was able to return the truck by 8:15 p.m. It had the appropriate gas and was clean and I dropped off the keys in the after hours key drop, and the truck was ready for the next day rentals, which happened to be on the 1st of the month. It was a pleasure doing business again with the Redlands U-Haul.. My first choice of rentals! Thank you very much!

With that said, my reservation was lost and the call center agents did great work in finding me the trailer I need - a bit smaller than I wanted - but it all work out great. Ahh, where do I start? Reservation: staff just put in the day of reservation not bother asking about the pick up time. When asked to change the time, i was told to inform the staff that would confirm my reservation. Hmmm... Pick-up: 23 hrs prior to pick-up: received a call from this location informed me that there's no available truck. upgraded without extra charge. Day of pick-up: picked-up the truck, and per the paper, it has 1/2 of gas. When verified, it only has 1/4 showing. When asked to change the document, the staff made a note on the paper and did not update the computer which became an issue when i turned-in the truck. I made reservation for utility dolly. This location wanted me to go out of my way to pick up the dolly. First he told me to go any triple A "AAA" office and get it from them. I checked in to the nearest AAA office but only to find out that they dont have any equipment available. That was so embarassing. I went back tot his office and requested utility dolly instead. Noce sure about the manager being involved on anything about my issue.

We rent a 26' truck every week from U-Haul to be a link in moving donated wheelchairs to go to needy countries all over the world. The chairs are donated, a large warehouse in Ontario facilitates consolidation and shipping by FedEx ( all for charity) The chairs are refurbished by inmates at Taft Prison, and then teams of doctors go with the chairs to fit them to the worlds most needy in dozens of third world countries. All thiese steps are donations FREE for this non-profit Except U-Haul where we pay full price. Waited an hour and a half to pick up my rental, and that was with a reservation. When I finally received the trailer, it was dirty from the previous use (dirt, mulch, and manure). I had to sweep it out prior to loading it. I will use this location again only because it is the only one in Redlands. The location needs more people, especially on weekends, to accommodate the needs of the customer.

I am very disappointed with the very LATE delivery of the U-Boxes. They were scheduled to arrive on June 8th but they did not arrive until the 12th. I tried to find out why they were late and where my belongings were, and I was told that no one knew, but that a manager would call me. No one called me and then my U-Boxes arrived. I tried to find out about the partial refund guarantee if the U-Boxes are late but once again no one has contacted me. This is not the kind of customer service I expected from such a large corporation.

Box arrived damaged (metal latch ripped off the box) and was stored unlocked. No phone call received to notify or offer to let me pick it up early. Employees asked for customer assistance (my boyfriend) to hook up the truck to the box. Waited 40 minutes after scheduled pick up time to time leaving the location. Rude customer service from Christopher. The vehicle was poorly maintained. Had a bent windshield wiper, so they couldn't even be used. The rep wouldn't replace it. Just wrote it down and told me I'd be fine with out it. Very unprofessional. The other Rep that took the reservation said he was too tired to work and to "bear with him". Poor experience. There is a THIRD thing to rate: ONE LINE: 1) given too little mileage to get the job done: had to CALL & 'fight' for more 2) was told I would be 'called' the day before... got a TEXT ONLY.. no call missed.. & told to be there @ noon... (well my 24 hour CLOCK starts on pick up time & that was NOT going to work ..4 hours TOO early).. HAD TO CALL AGAIN to FIX THAT... 3) .. then did the EXPRESS CHECK IN: which there was NOTHING EXPRESS about it.. still took my son 45 minutes to an hour to get the truck.. too little help & STILL HAD TO STAND IN LINE... 4) THEN.. when I went in to turn in the truck on the other end (open till 6 pm) got there @ 3 only to have it closed from 2:30-3:30... 'sorry for inconvenience' on a door notice... NOTHING about this experience was good ... IF you had better 'competition' I would try them next time!!

I was told to pick up at 7 am. On Saturday. There was 7 people waiting and one clerk to handle. Finally 2 more show up after 7:30. I returned the unit to the facility at 5.01 Sunday evening the doors were locked. I was told by one of the employee there is no problem they will check it in Monday morning and will not charge the extra. Yet j see the g checked me in at 9 am and charged the extra. I hope you enjoy my 30 dollars because this is the last time I will use that facility even though it is the closest to me.

My driver was there to pick up the truck at 05:20. We booked on line specifically so we could get the truck early. However he was unable through numerous attempts to get the access code. It would not give it to him because I made the account and put him as the driver. So I had to go to the uhaul and place myself and it still would not give me the access. So we called Uhaul at the 800 number. Received directions and it still would not work. So they said to wait at the store because it is only 10 minutes to 7. And they will be open at 7. Well at 7:08 still no person to open the store. By then there were 6 of us waiting. Then when the guy showed up he was the only person working. By the time I got got the truck it was after 7:30 and there was only 1 person available to help the 10 people waiting in line on a Saturday. Never again, I will go somewhere else where the owner cares about his customers.

First I reserved a dolly along with the 10-foot truck. The dolly was not in the truck so I had to come back and pick it up. The truck had a weak/dead battery. I could not start the truck and had to call roadside assistance twice to jump start the truck. Fortunately it was after my moving completed. But I had to wait for 1 hour for the roadside assistance to come. The roadside assistance told me to not stop the truck while filling the gas, which sounds a little dangerous. I feel disappointed because the truck should be maintained, at least for the essentials like battery. At least three hours of time were wasted because of the dead battery.

The truck given to me with very low oil and the tenant was hesitant to provide fish supply of oil until I asked for more oil or a different truck. The oil was eventually filled and I was on my way. The truck drove fine around town, however, on the freeway it was on the verge of terrifying to drive. The existing alignment created the need for consistent steering corrections and my moving help driving behind me co firmed while the truck was driving in the lane he could tell the truck was driving crooked as if the truck had been in an accident and caused frame damaged. I've used Uhaul countless times to move and this is by far the worst truck I've been given. Clearly this vehicle is unsafe and the tenant who checked me in upon return stated they had received similar complaints about the same truck from other customers. How did this truck get cleared for customers after multiple complaints. It should have never been made available to rent to a customer. I'm completely staggered and this has shaken my confidence in Uhaul. I will think twice about using Uhaul in the future because it is clear that either Uhaul or the tenants at the 1200 Alabama location do not take the safety of their products as seriously as they claim to.

I drove to the location and saw the trailer parked in the lot, and it had been moved, so they knew it was there. Then I was charged an extra day. I have called four times and customer care has sent 3 messages to the manager, but nobody from this location has called me back.

Be more organized and prepared when someone has a reservation. I had to wait in line almost 45 minutes beyond my scheduled pick-up time and then the truck couldn't be found and was not ready. Perhaps, additional employees are needed. Also, the interactive functions on the computer were not working properly, so the customer could not click on the answers as requested.

What ever you do, DO NOT EVER GET RID OF ROBERT, your trailer hitch EXPERT! GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE! He was so prompt and professional, This is the 5th. hitch that I have purchased from U-Haul, I drove over 4 hours from Parker, AZ to have this hitch installed on my brand-New 2017 Dodge Journey, I did not want anyone, not even the Dodge Dealer in Lake Havasu City, where I bought it to do the install, because I have always been happy with U-Haul's quality of product, but the main reason is because of the install persons that you have, like Robert! He did a fantastic job! I will send everyone I know to go to your facility for anything they need when it comes to anything to do with moving or storing personal belongings. I want to acknowledge everyone that helped me through this entire process: the first person that helped me was Jennifer one of your phone service associate that works in your 24hr call center located in Phoenix, AZ., she was excellent in that I couldn't sleep and I call in to see what time your Redlands location opened so I could have a hitch installed. Jennifer was able to check stock and make sure the parts were on hand so I wouldn't make a wasted trip, she then informed me that the only install openings were at 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM so I was able to arrive right when they opened. She also was able to help me line up a trailer rental and was able to quote me for a storage unit that I will be needing as well. The second person that I had the pleasure of meeting was Robert, you hitch installing expert, he came up to my window right at 7:00 AM with the "work-order" in his hand and was ready to get to work! No waiting for him to get a cup of coffee or "fart" around, he came to work on that Saturday morning ready to get to work. The third person I had the pleasure of working with was your in side counter associate Tynisha, she was very helpful and handeled all the paper work and questions that I had and I really enjoyed working with her. While I was waiting I walked next door to the Denney's and had a really good breakfast and in about 1.75 hours my SUV was done, just as promised, and as I said, I am telling everyone that will listen to me, about the wonderful customer service that I experienced. I was given a verbal quote from the Lompoc center,but never got an email about price. It was twice what they originally quoted. It took two days for them to return my calls. Neither offices answer their phone. I had to talk to the cooperate office and leave a message. My box was delivered but not scanned in. They were unable to locate it. I had to go in person to Redlands office to be told "we had one delivered but you would have gotten email notification if it was your" when I asked him to check he found out it was mine and not scanned in the system. I asked him if I could take the box on a dolly and was told he didn't have the staff to help me today. That it would be ready by noon, 24 hours later, the next day. When I arrived it was still not ready. I still don't understand why it was $687 to go less then 200 miles. And why it took 9 days. I could have driven up and gotten the unit myself and rented a trailer for half that price. If I had gotten a quote or anything in writing about costs I would have. Some how my email repeatedly dropped out of the system. Even after verifying it was in the system three times, with each call. I move with my job ever few months. I have used Uhaul many times, I am not sure I will continue to use them at this point. I had hoped the Ubox was going to work well for me. But not if it is way too expensive, and hard to schedule delivery and pick up. And they are unable to track my belongings. I can send a letter but FedEx and see every stop but not my ubox. Very disappointed

I had a reservation in Sam Bernardino but when I went there they didn't have the item I reserved. Then I went to Redlands and waited in a long line while I person was waiting us. When l got helped the computer locked up. Then the guy helping me picked an appliance hand truck that was all beat up,abused and the strap was frayed. There were 15 brand new ones and he grabbed that one out of the middle of all of them!

The man that was there was wonderful but he was alone so all of the customers had to wait a long time. His manager left for some "meeting" right at the busiest time. It was ridiculous. Who leaves just one person to manage everything by himself on Friday at 4:30??? I've used Uhaul for years and have never seen that before. The manager is a fail!! The African American man who was working there was awesome! He remained polite and worked as fast as he could. He should be the manager!!

I am mostly concerned with what I witnessed in the store. Customer in front of me buying 3 SM boxes waited 20 minutes. He watched the CSR at the desk, and a CSR coming in and out passing by, and we could see the guy installing a hitch in the garage on the camera. There should be process, or a way for the customer to make a quick purchase? I know there are cameras to see this on 1/2/17 @ 10am, took me almost 1 hour to rent a HO trailer(room to improve this process too)? But the tragedy was us standing in line for no real reason. Please look into your process, as something is not working and both the guy buying boxes and I should have left. I gain as an owner and so does U-Haul if you improve the process. Thank you.

Comply with Handicapped Parking laws (e.g., provide a couple of handicapped spots, (2) don't rent vehicles with ignition assembly wobbling in the steering column and the keys won't dislodge without a war, (3) get rid of the limited-English kid who refused to let a handicapped person park temporarily to go inside claiming "we won't be able to rent to you if you park there" (a lie, of course) then refused to provide the dollies as per the contract until I called out a supervisor to confirm i needed a dolly and a furniture dolly (he ignored the radio transmission from the counter person taking payment, then seemed unable to read the contract).

The young lady that was behind the counter was very professional and friendly. When I arrived at this facility, there was a U haul van and truck intentionally parked sideways so as to block ingress and egress off Alabama, which made it difficult for customers to get in and out of the facility.
