I was denied One Way travel and ability to drop the truck off in the town where I am moving to. It was quite inconvenient for me and the men who moved me, we were expecting to be finished as soon as we unloaded. The young man who checked me in was quite polite, but told me it would be a $700-800 fee if I did not bring the truck back. I have NEVER had a U-haul without a one-way drop off, even if for a small fee. There were plenty of parked trucks and vans in the parking lot. There should have been a LARGE Banner on the website to indicate "Local" or "One Way Rentals Only". Depending on my job, I sometimes move 12-18 months or so, I will never use U-Haul, I have told several (also mobile) friends about it and I (we) plan to use a different self-moving company. I had reserved a truck online for 7:45PM on a Friday, and the system asked if I wanted to do the app pick up or in-person and I opted for the app. The store was open until 8, but i figured it wouldn't matter if i got there after 8 since I opted for the pick up that was to be done on the app without representative help. I got to U-Haul shortly after 8, the store was closed and when i opened the app to start my pick up it said i needed to do it in person when the store opened at 7AM. I called customer service and was on hold for 1 hour before a representative got on the line. She let me know that since i made the reservation for 7:45PM and the store was still open, keys where not left for my vehicle in the pick up box. Had I known, i would have ensured i picked up the vehicle while the store was open, OR i would have made the reservation for after the store closed. We picked up the vehicle without issue the next morning by getting to the location at the time they opened. The only issue with the vehicle itself was that the passenger side mirror was loose and this is unacceptable when driving a large truck with no review mirror and side view mirrors are essential. When my husband returned the truck he told the person that checked in the truck and he said "i guess we'll have to fix that". My husband also let him know that the windshield wipers were worn and needed replacing. The day we rented the truck is was rainy and foggy. These things should be checked and maintained regularly. U-haul is a convenient option for moving but there are things that could be done better.David M.

The fellow who handled my pickup and return was awesome- one of the best UHaul reps I've ever encountered. He was truly "present" and engaged in the customer transaction. I suggest you staff with more than 1 person during peak transaction periods. There was a line of frustrated customers waiting to rent trucks.Steve M.

I didn't have a problem with the pick up or drop off locations, but I did have a problem being charged for extra miles. I provided my destination address at time of rental, drove straight there, and was charged for excessive miles.Sean M.

Two tires became flat after loading. I had to add air to one tire twice during my trip. Also, one of the screws came out during the trip and bscause it was raining the underside of a few boxes became wet.nick P.
Your online and telephone support is terrible. The worst of any company I have ever dealt with. The people on the phone are great when you can get them but the company must be woefully understaffed. The wait times, the wrong connections, the inability to upload documents or photos, the confusion on YOUR end, the inability to save the text from CHATs (they tell you that you can but it never worked), the lack of advanced warning about how and when should enter information BEFORE dropping the keys into the drop box. Hours of waiting on line just to be cutoff and having to start over. It is ridiculous. This is not a complaint about the location I rented from or about the people working the phones.peter K.

Give your employees the tools they need to give good customer service! Computers were working slow which caused a 30+ minute wait. Better support in staff and customer service training for employees is needed. While waiting in that line I was never greeted, it took over 15 minutes for the worker to ask for help, while at least 5-6 other customers were in line behind me. Upon returning there was no one at the counter, I had to go find somebody who looked to be on their break in their car just to return the keys.Michael C.

The rental office associates are professional and hospitality but the truck I rent is so tear and wear , it is out of time! I can't adjust the side mirrors because there is no function to do it and the most disappointing is there's no rear view mirror, i can't see the back when I retreated my truck! This is unacceptable! I have gone out of my way to use this location. In a time when finding good people is difficult this location Rt 1 & rt 3 19083 has an entire store full of great folks. Always a smile always helpful. Not a good experience. We arrived at 8 am sharp. There was no one there. Why did this happen? Unacceptable. Finally after 9 they open. I'm moving. This was added stress to all of us. I'm paying movers btw. By the hour! One uhaul rep abruptly stopped checking in a customer and ran to the bathroom. No explanation. What??? Then the van smelled so bad. Also the maintenance light was on (super safe there uhaul). Then they ripped me off for gas. I'd like a refund. It was not a good experience.James S.

One tire was a little low on air pressure. Also, the outside mirrors needed adjustment which could only be done with an Allen wrench. The adjustment should be done before a customer leaves the U-Haul store.Michael S.
