No problems with Lakewood uhaul. I had originally selected this location as my drop off because they closed at 7pm. I knew I wouldn't be back in to my house in UP until 4-5pm. All other locations closed 5:30 or earlier. Which is why it was frustrating that I got a message from a coordinator/dispatch caller from uhaul the night before telling me I had to return this trailer to an address that was 7014 6th Tacoma ave. It said that it was a 24/7 hr drop off. After unloading the trailer at my house I was driving to 6th Ave and had to call the number that left the message: 253-859-3729 to ask a question. The lady that answered said she didn't know why they switched the location, but that I shouldn't go to the one on 6th Ave because it was not 24/7 drop off as it had a fence around the whole place. She reassigned me to my original Lakewood location. She was very helpful. I did not appreciate someone changing where I had to drop it off especially when I couldn't turn it in there. Because of this I was late to an appointment at 6:30pm which was annoying. I don't get why you guys changed reservations I had set for very specific reasons. Not to mention, it was left on an answering machineMatthew J.

The braking system on the trailer I rented might be defective or need adjustment/maintenance. The springs that damper the braking action for ongagement/disengagement don't seem to be doing anything. So the trailer slams forward and back under acceleration/deceleration instead of the springs damping the motion.Kelly M.

This wasn't lakewoods fault but we reserved a â€œ100% guaranteed reservationâ€ at the Seattle, Ballard location and we were called two days before moving ACROSS THE COUNTY and told that the trailer we reserved wouldn't be available until the day after we reserved it. Not only is the NOT a guarantee but the way we were notified made it seem like it was our problem to deal with and our only other option was to drive an HOUR out of our way to pick up the same trailer type on the day we reserved it. How do you offer 100% guarantees when you literally cannot guarantee that the equipment will be available? Your customer service representatives were rude and unhelpful and made it seem like they were doing us a favor despite the fact that you did not honor our reservation and caused us additional stress and time during our move. You guys are the worst and we will be doing everything in our power to never use you again.Megan H.

Apparently they only extend 24 hours. And if you go beyond it you get billed a 2nd day. If I was going to get billed a 2nd date. I'd rather have kept the vehicle another 20 hours and finished what I needed it for. A $400 trip became a $700 oneJonathan N.

I originally had a reservation for a different location and then had to come here because an issue with the truck. Not only was it further in mileage they didn't have furniture pads and charged them anyways. I also wanted to rent a dolly and it wasn't in the truck. They did not try to make any of this better and I was overcharged. Will not come back.Lindsay S.

Reservation was made a month and a half in advance, my pick up location was changed and I was not informed so that cost me an hour. Then upon arriving at pacific highway location the truck's mirror was broken and I had to wait for it to be fixed, he fixed it fast but waiting in line and waiting cost me another hour. They were very flexible with me being that u needed the truck longer than I had anticipated, but I have never run into these issues before. I will say last year I booked moving help and they did not show, but still tried to charge me. That was a different location, but still Uhaul.Heather W.

Truck smelled of smoke/ cigarettes My truck was down sized from 26ft to 15ft without my knowledge. This was an inconvenience, as my move took 10hrs instead of 4hrs, due to multiple trips with smaller truck. Therefore I had to pay movers extra labor.Rochelle C.

As I was trying to figure out what my best option was going to be she stopped and asked me what was going on. I then told her and she helped me find a solution right away. Before rating my experience, I would like to have some resolution to the wiring issues on my minivan. To date, I have been in twice and left my car on two Saturdays and no one can figure out how to fix the wiring that was done at the same location in May of 2021. I have also not heard from the manager as I was told I would. I am still looking for help.Coleman F.
This is my Google review for this location: The employees here were nice but I still could write a novella describing how bad my experience was. At the Seattle location, I was given a truck with a CUT gas line because homeless people have a large camp nearby. I am told that that truck was known to have a cut gas line but they gave it to me anyway. There was a British man there who was very nice and seemed to know what he was doing but the lady seemed to either be brand new or just not the sharpest tool in the shed because everything about what she did was questionable. She was still nice and all but I had a truck parked in front of my truck so I couldn't leave and apparently it was her friend who has repeatedly parked in that spot. Also, the rear left tire was just shy of being bald; round it out with the check transmission light coming on after I drove it only a few blocks. The truck was sluggishly shifting gears. After hours and hours of loading up the truck, my girlfriend and I started the long drive for the move and went to get gas. All the gas fell out on to the ground because nobody checked the gas lineâ€¦.even though they told me that homeless people were siphoning gas from the trucks and that is why they gave me the truck ON EMPTY! So, they knew they were getting gas lines cut and they checked it and gave it to me anyway. Absolutely absurd. I guess I should have called roadside assistance and then they would have patched the gas line for me but since I was in a panic, I repaired the gas line myself to the best of my abilities and got enough fuel in to make the journey. I'm pretty sure having gas leak all over the place and on my body is a huge safety hazard. Let me repeat myself: I was told by a Lakewood employee that they KNEW THE GAS LINE WAS CUT. There are even more elements to this story but I have spent enough time talking and writing about it. The regional manager in Lakewood, Alex Hansen (where I delivered the truck) was supposed to reach out to me but they never did and just sent a $50 refund even though I was told by multiple employees I should get a full refund. I spent money on the tape and a bunch of gas that fell on to the ground so the $50 covers my personal expenses and only a little more. I don't like asking for refunds but in this case, I have no guilt or shame. If I were a Uhaul manager, I would be embarrassed and a refund would be the least I could do.John S.

When we got home open trailer do you smell in the trailer reeked of marijuana we called the location they never showed us the inside they just said OK it's ready to go and when we called and told them about the marijuana smell they go yeah we understand that we probably know who last rented it and that's all they did about it they didn't do anything about removing the smell I would never use this place ever againcrissy B.
