Marwin OOur pickup was scheduled days in advance at 8:00am. We arrived around 30 minutes after 8 and our truck was not ready. The lot was not set up correctly for self-guided pickups. The attendant just told us we’d have to wait. After an hour, we came back and the truck we had reserved was not there so the truck had to be changed. After the rental, we were charged for fuel and fuel service even though we gave it back with more gas than we had started with.

Diane HThe back of the truck had extremely strong odor of "raid" when we opened it. Very chemically and overwhelming like it was just bombed for roaches. Sure enough multiple times we had small roaches appear or fall down from where the door rolled up into. It was gross and very nerve racking. We had to throw away all our boxes immediately to make sure we did not transfer any kind of infestation. They should NEVER have rented a truck that had this smell or existing roach problem. I plan on contacting U-haul for a refund because it was just disgusting to have to worry about roaches infesting all your belongings.

Richard MIt was my first time using the mobile method to pick up the vehicle, so I followed the steps, took a selfie, and photos of the front and back of my CA driver's license, and reached a step that instructed me to go inside the building to get the keys. I approached the employee behind the counter to let him know I was using the mobile option and that the app was instructing me to get the keys. He asked for my truck number and seemed very annoyed about having to help me. He said he couldn't help me because I hadn't finished the process on the mobile yet. I told him I couldn't finish the mobile option because I didn't have the keys, and he hadn't given them to me. He said I needed to scan a QR code on his monitor and follow the steps. I told him I was doing it on my phone, so there was no need to start over. He said he couldn't help me then. I reluctantly scanned the QR code and had to start over from step one. I had to retake the selfie, photos of my ID, and enter my information just to get back to the step of the keys. At this point, he did something on his end and handed me the keys without saying anything. The whole purpose of the mobile option is to be easy and help the staff. I get it. In this case, the mobile option was pointless. At drop-off, there were two employees at the counter, and I purposely avoided the one from earlier in the day, but the second employee was just as bad. He made it clear he was annoyed that choose his counter. He couldn't even be bothered to take off his AirPods or stop watching the video he was watching on his personal phone as he spoke to me, or when he just got up, and he walked out. Mind you, he didn't even ask me to follow him, so I just followed him. He only took off his AirPods once he was onboard the truck, checked the gas gauge, and told me I was "good." I had to clarify whether anything else was needed, and he shook his head. The staff at this site made the experience very negative.

SOPHIA R1.)The 20' truck was in bad condition and had multiple dents on it. I had to spend close to 45 minutes taking all the pictures. In addition, the uhaul apple iphone app had defects and wouldn't allow me to upload pictures. 2.)I ordered both furniture pads and a dolly and they were not put in the truck as explained via the app. The uhaul location was out of furniture pads, if I was told this earlier I could have made other arrangements. 3.)the staff was not very helpful and was aware of the steps for the app pick-up.

CARY FI had a terrible experience returning my U-Haul truck. The employee who handled my return was extremely disrespectful and dismissive from the start. When I picked up the truck, it showed about 9/16 of a tank, but literally within minutes of driving, it dropped to half. I only drove about 8 miles total and still had to put in $20 worth of gas just to bring it back up. When I brought this up, instead of addressing the issue professionally, the employee told me that “people siphon gas at night.” So what does that mean for customers? You’re knowingly renting out trucks with inaccurate fuel levels and still expecting customers to refill them to a level that wasn’t even correct to begin with? That’s completely unfair. When I questioned it, he got defensive and said, “we’re already giving you a discount, bro.” That “discount” had nothing to do with the gas issue—it was because I drove fewer miles than I originally estimated. Those are two completely separate things. Overall, the customer service was unprofessional, the explanation made no sense, and the situation felt dishonest. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone based on how this was handled.

MIKA WOnline it says you can return after hours, but on-site they say you cannot return after hours. Additionally, they were having issues because they had dispatched the incorrect vehicles to people before me.
KAI JThe truck smelled like cigarette smoke, the floors had debris from the previous customer, the charging ports didn't work, and the passenger side mirrors were both broken. I took extensive pictures of the truck before leaving the lot and tried uploading them to the app, but the app refused to upload them. The one employee on site was trying to deal with 4 different groups of customers at once and she only had time to tell me, "just keep the photos on your phone and you will be fine." Lo and behold, you guys tried to charge me nearly $400 for the broken mirror when I had clear, timestamped photos of the damage prior to leaving your lot. Horrible experience all around, would NEVER recommend this location to anyone. In fact, U-haul in general is a fucking scammy, horrible corporation, I've never once had a "good" experience. You simply were the closest to my house for renting a truck, but next time I'm going out of my way to find a different company altogether. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!
Max EMy grandparents died and i needed to move furniture across state from CA to ID. Because the U-Haul was leaving California it cost me over $1,000 bucks to Tow the stuff. I hate this overpriced scam. I want a FULL refund for even being treated in this way of being forced to fork out so much money during this time of grief. I could have bought a similar used trailer for less than that. Zero stars, zero appreciation. I don’t recommend anyone using U-Haul to move anything outside of California.

Bruce DThey were 15 mins late opening the store - I get that thins happen and it sounds like whoever closed or dropped off trucks after hours screwed them over but the truck we got was filthy, there was a padlock on the back door that there was no key for so we had to buy bolt cutters to cut the padlock off and the person helping us was rude.
ERIKA RDuring the move, I got bit by a black Widow spider. I had to go to the ER. I explained it to the uhaul person that called to ask when I was returning it and why I was late. She was agressive. I explained what happened and she said other people were waiting. She did not acknowledge that I had something serious happening.

Joshua MIt was just too much of a headache having to come in every day to pay or you threaten with reporting truck stolen. Not everyone is a thief. You would probably get alot more business if you accepted debit cards and worked with people who Are struggling. You gave me no type of indication that I would not be allowed to extend the truck further. You basically said it needed to be returned today and that was that even tho I paid it daily
