The moment I walked in the door I felt like I was a bother. Although I did preregistration the counter help insisted he needed my iD again. Which I did it prior to prevent contact of things and people. He then had me sign the waiver and handed me the keys and said “your trucks out there, you can find it”. Upon getting into the truck I started my truck inspection. The pictures loaded up are old and do not give an accurate depiction of what the truck looks like now. Scratches and dents and dings all over. I included all my pics showing damage and included the filthy interior along with the mileage that was incorrect. When I returned to the site to return the truck via the text message but because the truck was dirty when I got it I put that it wasn't clean I was to be charged an extra $25. I then proceeded inside to speak to the desk help who told me to go out back again and bang on the window and ask them to fix it. I was then told to return to the front and the desk could assist me. When I went inside I received attitude about helping me to fix my problem. I expressed my dis concern and how it was inappropriate for the vehicle to be dirty in the first place especially during COVID. I rent vehicles all the time in the Kingston location and receive the upmost care and respect. I would never return to this location and I wouldn't refer anyone either. The last time I checked a paying customer shouldn't have to deal with the problems that the service provider should be handling. I thought that was part of the reason I pay to begin with. Was not able to pick up truck at my scheduled 7am time. The app did not work. Spent over 1 hour on phone with many uhaul reps. They were not able to solve me problem. Had to pay movers for 1.5 hours of service without a truck. I will not be using uhaul services again.

Pay attention to gas levels. I don't understand why they can't tell you how many miles per gallon the vehicle you are renting gets. I filled up the tank above the level that I rented the vehicle, and was told I owed for 2+ gallons (@$4/gal). Because the person that checked the vehicle in, mis-read the gas gauge. It was frustrating and cold standing there for him to rectify the error. I was also not happy that they made me move the vehicle to a different place to check-in from where the signs suggested. Otherwise, a pleasant experience.

The lady had an attitude. She didn't want to help us. She took the truck & seemed pissed. I think it's because they were closing. The shouldn't matter she should have been nice. Obviously she's a miserable person.

Windows were filthy, I was supposed to get some mileage credit since i was not guaranteed my truck for 1 way rental and had to pick the truck up in Poughkeepsie NY, drive back to Brewster NY to pack up and then return the truck again in Poughkeepsie NY, unnecessary mileage for something out of my control since UHAUL couldn't provide me a 1 way rental. I brought the truck back same day, gas replaced and I was told by the employee, he couldn't do anything and to call manager Monday (Today). I cannot reach the manager because my call get routed to UHAUL customer service, who stated they would look into it and call me back....THEY DIDN'T and now you charged me full price on mileage. Poor business practice!!!!

The salesperson who waited on me was unprofessional and had attitude both on the phone/arrival. The truck rental said $29.95/DAY, but I was asked how many HOURS I would need the truck - when I said 6 (which would have been 3:00 PM), when I asked what happened if I brought it back at 4:00 PM he stated I would be charged an additional $29.95. When I questioned why as it stated per DAY he said it was because I said 6 hours. I am not sure why the number of hours I am using it mattered, but I will not be using this location again. The contract was signed, had I not asked the question I would have just been charged the additional fee on my CC - at no point before or after signing did he say that there would be add'l $$ charged bc of # of hours, if you pay by the day it shouldn't matter how many hours I use it. Upon return the young man who checked me in couldn't have been nicer. Total opposites.

Everything was great except that my truck smelled like cigarettes and I had to air out the truck for a while before I could even drive it. I know the truck has multiple signs saying no smoking so I was surprised that this was the state of the truck. By the end of my drive it didn't smell like cigarettes anymore because I had to drive with the windows cracked a bit in order to breathe.

My drop-off experience was extremely frustrating. I knew that it would be after hours, and the U-Haul employee who handled my check-out only said to go to the U-Haul website. I would have appreciated hearing the advice to complete the on-line check-out while in the vehicle, because of the photo requirements. I only went on-line after putting the keys in the dropbox. Trying to complete the drop-off process on-line without access to the vehicle was difficult.

I was charged an extra $25 because I didn't fold the mats. If someone told me they had to be returned folded I would have folded them. I think the $25 fee is a high fee to charge for this issue.

I was sent to another location and was delayed several hours because they couldn't get my info to the app to open the lock box at another location. When I got to Thai location I felt the girl was a bit shrewd and had a chip on her shoulder. I was rushing to get home in time to save money since I lost several hours getting out because of the Debacle with the first Fishkill location. I know everyone is stressed working in a mask but you have no idea what someone is going through. Or why they are even renting a U-Haul truck to begin with.

Watch the mileage when you pick up truck. My contract had one mileage and the truck had another I told them and they said no problem but the charged me for the wrong mileage. Emailed a complaint and heard nothing

Uhaul needs to be a little flexible with their return policies. I had to return a Ubox to a location two hours away when there was a location 2 minutes away. While everyone at UHaul is pleasant to work with there is always someone in supervision who is binary, its always yes or no and most often its no. Moving is stressful as it is and I know uhaul tries to reduce this but there is room for improvement.

We rented a truck for one day use including a hand cart which was found to be unusable due to missing strap and a pkg of cover blankets. It was returned the same day with the same amount of gas. They are trying to tell me I owe for gas, damaged blankets and a missing handcart. I have filed a dispute to their accusations and am awaiting their reply. I had to call three times to complain before any representative to my information in my complaint. There was no damage to blankets and handcart was returned and same amount of gas in truck as was when picked up.

In returning the vehicle the shop was closed at 7:00 and completely dark. In utilizing the online I had to review the instructions in the darken setting in the back of the building. I had 2 masked individuals walk up on me in the dark acting as if the too were returning a vehicle but they weren't. My back was turned completely the vehicle before time ran over. These individuals were familiar with the area. If a Female had to do this it would be considered more than dangerous. Move the sign out to the front of the building with more lighting.

Nice trailer with a new type of hitch and better control for raising and lowering the trailer when hooking up. Trailer was also very quiet while towing empty which was a nice surprise too. People were very helpful and cooperative. Made the transaction easy!

The one thing that sticks out to me about this location is the staff, they for the most part are professional and very helpful. I especially have to commend Chantel Whiting who is always very efficient and shows an impeccable work ethic where she always listens to be able to meet your needs and is very thorough at helping you schedule and set up of services. She is a very dedicated person and I appreciated her help during a very tough time for me. To Chantel W. and Uhaul Poughkeepsie Please keep up the good work and don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

Improper mask wearing by staff. Lack of knowledge over equipment being rented. Inability to handle reservations in person and unable to forward phone number to reservation specialist. Refused assistance in placing auto on transport, leading to missing steps. Phone specialist booked Truck and Auto Transport in two different cities, adding stress, hours and miles to the move.

The online registration process fails when the drivers license photo front and back is taken. Your system doesn't allow the photo to be saved. I think once that aspect is rectified the process will be so much easier. Other than that it is a rather smooth process.

This was my first time using U-haul and I didn't know exactly what I was doing. The person who took care of me didn't ask if I've ever used U-haul before and also just let me on my way without explaining to me how to operate the truck I was going to drive around. I had to go back inside to ask him to go over how things worked, which also took from the two hours we requested. Inside the truck, there were crumbs and food in the cup holders and someone's earphone was in one of the cup holders as well which was kind of gross. Kinda made me wonder how often the vehicles are cleaned especially during the pandemic. Additionally, the gentleman who was taking care of me wasn't wearing his mask correctly most of the time. On the other hand the gentleman who took care of my sister and I when we returned the truck was very nice and wore his mask correctly. Can't say I would never use this location again, but if I had a choice I might not.

After I return the U-haul, I waited 15 minutes before a person came to help me. When the male representative finally came out. After, I informed him I was returning a u-haul. He started, " where is it parked" several times rudely. I repeated what I heard the male representative state. Where is the part? I responded with; there wasn't another part attached to the key. In a rude and curt tone, he asked where is the vehicle parked. I informed the male representative; he didn't have to be rude. He apologized then stated, he just had two workers leave, and he's having a bad day. His apology was sincere. I will never use this establishment again. One of the female workers didn't have a mask on and talked less than 6 feet away from other employees when I arrived to pick up the U-haul. COVID IS SERIOUS

My only concern (& they fixed it) was no one bothered checking the drop box for my keys and I was originally charged for two days instead of one which I thankfully took a photo of the mileage, gas and time on dashboard.

Did not receive equipment that was purchased for rental. Strongly suggest double checking before you leave and make sure everything is there. Highly recommend adding equipment to the onsite check list as a reminder for customer to double check before leaving. This was a huge inconvenience and much needed equipment that we didn't have.

I booked my reservation for a trailer at 10am for two days from nov 30th to dec 2nd which was suppose to cost me 54.95 a day and a total of $ 109.9 and i returned it the a night before after hours and which they checked in the trailer next day on the 2nd at 3pm which was totally unacceptable and a total rip off. Where as the trailer was dropped off right in front of the main entrance which they can not miss for sure. Costed me now $172. Rediculous act

My rating of poor has nothing to do with the uhaul's pickup location. It has to do with uhaul's load trailering program, which soured us on uhaul overall. We personally went into the uhaul rental location a few weeks prior to our move to reserve the truck. At the time they made no mention of uhaul's new pod/load initiative where uhaul offers incentives for truck renters going cross country to trailer their pods a portion or all the way. So we were pleasantly surprised when We started getting texts with different offers to trailer different uhaul pods along a portion of our route. Being as I have a CDL and drive cross country for work and very familiar with most of the routes, we thought this was a win win for both us and UHaul. I spoke directly to Shannon in uhaul's load Dept that handles setting up the truck renters with the POD/trailer load. We actually were very excited and looking forward to the extra cash to help offset the cost of the move. Uhaul offered us 787.50 to pickup a double pod trailer at their corporate branch in Fort Wayne Indiana and drop it at another UHaul location in Helena Montana. The only caveat was that we would have to pick up the trailer in Fort Wayne during business hours. It also wasn't exactly on our route from Poughkeepsie, NY to Richland, WA, but close enough and the extra money would have gone a long way towards fuel. In fact, our fuel cost for the 3,117 mile trip was approx 830.00, so would have just about covered it. I negotiated 300 additional miles and two extra days for potential inclement weather along the way. Anyways, we confirmed we would pick up the POD/trailer and on Saturday, Nov 21 received a confirming text from Shannon stating that the Fort Wayne uhaul branch was expecting us and would have everything ready to go the next morning. I told Shannon that since Fort Wayne was 670 miles from our starting point that we would have to get a hotel room and would be there at 9 am when the store opened. The next morning when we showed up at Fort Wayne Uhaul, we dealt with Carley and Denise. They knew about the POD we were supposed to trailer, and felt badly, but said that the load Dept was notified THREE days prior by Joshua Steven (their General Manager) that they didn't have the trailer on site for us to trailer and would not have it back until well into December. So I got Shannon on the phone to speak with Carley and Denise in the hope that we could rectify the situation. When it was apparent that nothing could be done, all we were offered was 50.00 for our time, along with the extra 300 miles and two extra days I had previously negotiated, but never needed any of the latter. At the time, we told Shannon that we will probably be moving again within the year and threw out the option of possibly getting a credit to go towards a future move. But got no response. The 50.00, in our eyes, was an insult and didn't properly compensate us for our troubles. Uhaul is pushing this Load project internally, but their branches don't seem to be onboard and communication between corporate and the branches is obviously an issue. And as of today, December 1st, we still have still NOT been credited the 50.00 that Shannon said was the ONLY thing she could do monetarily to compensate us for our time, expense and troubles. We were there on time and ready to go to pick up uhaul's POD. Uhaul let us down.

The guy who helped me when I picked up trailer had an attitude. I reserved the trailer earlier in the day with a young lady and she was great. But when I went to pick up trailer the guy quoted me double what the girl told me. Adding additional costs without conferring with me. I left there very upset. If he has an attitude maybe he shouldn't work with customers.

I made a reservation for a utility trailer but the confirmation called for a cargo trailer. A c all to the call center took care of the error. The error could have avoided the second call and long hold time. Suggestion: :et folks know that they are NOT speaking with an employee at the local U-Haul outlet when calling.

I was a little put off by the fact that I returned the truck with more gas than it had when I picked it up, but was not credited for the fuel, but if I had returned the truck with fuel level below what I taken it out with, you would have a charged me ..... not good policy/karma, shame on you U-haul!
