Staff and facility are great. What was appallingly bad was my experience with your website. I made a reservation online and received email confirmation, but your staff could find nothing about me on the store computers. My account had vanished. Total waste of time and very stressful. I also ended up with a storage unit much more expensive than what I had reserved. I cannot recommend UHaul to anyone because of this.Pamela M. | First Impressions
Staff, facility, and equipment at the NE Sandy location were excellent. However, there was a major glitch with my web reservation. Appallingly, horrifically bad, the worst experience I have ever had. I reserved a van and storage space online, and received email confirmations (with reservation numbers) from UHaul. However, the NE Sandy store had no record of anything, could find nothing about me in their computer. Major hassle. I am horrified and angry and will tell everyone I know.PAMELA M.

The agent who was working the counter and trying to check out the trailer to me needs to stop asking personal questions to the other worker while just asking me a question. I couldn't get my answer out before he was asking his buddy what he did last night. It happened more than once and it was annoying. I shouldn't have to repeat my name and phone number multiple times because he wanted to know something personal from the guy sitting next to him. Then when we went to the yard to get the trailer he bitched about having to get the trailer that required him to move multiple trailers to get to the correct one. I've rented here many times and have never had to deal with such low customer service before. Then he sent me out of the yard with lights not working correctly, I drove down the street and had another Uhaul dealer look at it and fix it for me.CHAD ROBERT E.

Everything was okay but just a friendly advice one of the location here in Portland when I called for help and want to know where can I drop off my rental and it's my first time renting but the person to this location was very rude when I called and asked questions because I did not want to pay more for not dropping off my rental on time and the right location. I booked my rental as a mobile pickup before opening. I arrived just before 8am to pick up the truck for the day and followed the prompts from the email I received. Part way through the process I received a notification that â€œyour order has been set up as a hand delivery, please come back during business hoursâ€. I then had to leave and come back an hour later to pick up the truck in person. I notified the employee of the issue and his response was â€œoh yeah, looks like they set it up wrong,â€ completely unapologetically.Chet T.

Holy shit Uhaul. What the hell happened? I booked MONTHS in advance and was told "maybe you'll have a truck. We'll let you know two days before your move. You should probably book a backup plan though..." Luckily I managed to get a truck. I'm driving down the coast and get a call saying "Sure you reserved a location near your final destination but we don't give a shit about you so you need to drop off your truck 15-20 miles away. Oh also because you're towing a car, you need to come to this location first to unhook the car, then drive to your location to unload your Uhaul, then drive back." I was told by the woman on the phone that iI would be reimbursed for the gas for the extra 30 miles of driving.I would like to know where I should send the receipt. The team at the location was spectacular. This is not their fault.You need to fix your SOPsChristopher R.

The employees were not helpful obviously didn't want to be there. I told them I couldn't find the van, none of them asked me what's the number or offered to help, eventually after standing in the store for a bit one of them looked me up and said I needed to finish my online check in, and I said I know but I can't check in cause I can't find the van, the guys just shrugged. I went outside again and there were two employees smoking by the entrance of the store, so I asked them if there were more vans somewhere, and they said no, so then I said, okay but I have a van reserved and it's not one of these two, finally one of them pointed me to the other side of the lot where the van was. Their inability to help me made a process that only takes a few minutes take up 30 minutes made for a below standard experience.Berenice G.
I arrived and walked inside asking about my drop off. The gentleman inside asked me to return to the equipment and wait for someone to assist. I used an online rental. This process could be much better. I only found out at the rental location that I was supposed to have a passport or second person ready to call. That should have been clear ahead of time. When I was done, the app tried to charge me $80 for gas even though I returned the vehicle with the same amount of fuel (with pictures) and the fact that I only drove 13 miles.ADAM H.
I rented a 20 ft truck, but when I arrived they did not have a 20 ft truck. They blamed it on the U-Haul system. they said it happens all the time and there is nothing they could do about it. No Discount, nothing to make it right by me. I ended up with a 15 footer which caused me to make multiple trips where i just planned on one. I will never rent from here again.PHILIP MORENCY C.

It was nice having a keycard to access whenever needed and not having to deal with staff during Covid. The facility was temperature and humidity controlled as advertised. The storage unit was secure and easily accessible. Whenever I had to talk to staff, which was only during move in and move out, they were kind and helpful. Only complaint I had is one of my boxes had mouse poop on it when I moved out. I know it isn't easy to control, but that was kinda gross. I was charged $312 for apparently driving 500 miles during my 1hour rental window... it's IMPOSSIBLE to drive that far in that amount of time. And when I called uhaul they said they would reimburse me my money and it would take 3 days, well it's now going on day 4 and I still haven't received my money or the email the general manager was supposed to send me explaining the whole situation. Needless to say this will be the last time I EVER use uhaul!GENARO B.

It looks like the left is the queue, while the right is the exit lane, but I don't think there's anything notifying that and people were lining up on both sides.RON L.

I went in on Friday to make a reservation for a work trip Monday. I needed a small trailer to pull behind my Ram and wanted to make sure my truck would be ready for Monday's trip. When I pulled up I saw an angry customer taking with a Uhaul Representative. I the rep was being very dismissive towards the customer. I proceeded to go into the store. I was helped and the reservation was made BUT the Rep helping me made a mistake on the days. He noted that he was new. I reiterated that the sole reason I came in was to ensure the trailer would be reserved and that my truck would comply because I needed to leave first thing Monday am. I was renting a one way trailer to Bend, OR. He called over a more knowledgeable Rep to help him change the dates and all was set. Just then the previously upset customer came back in, he was upset because they had rented a Uhaul and there was a lock on the back and weren't given a key for it. So he drove all the way out to his destination and couldn't do anything there and had to drive all the way back. The key he needed was on the wall and they gave it to him and when he asked about compensation they simply said he wouldn't have to pay for the miles for the trip coming back to store and back to his locationðŸ¤¯ðŸ¤¯ they didn't grasp the time they wasted for this man and when his wife told him that need to just leave, in his absence the reps that were there were laughing about â€œhow he's making such a big deal out of itâ€ & â€œ it's only time dudeâ€ People plan BECAUSE time is very valuable. I left being told all was set for Monday. I leave town, unplug with my kids and get back into cell phone service Sunday night (camping) and get 3 calls from Uhaul. Saturday - no longer have my reservation held ( isn't that what a reservation is for??!) and that they moved my reservation to Sunday and at a different location. Sunday - I missed my reservation time Sunday - we are canceling your reservation So Monday at 7am I start calling Uhauls, I get a rental and it's in NE Portland , kid helps me and I'm gone ...2 hrs after I wanted to leave which put me 2 hrs later than I had promised my customer in bend I would arrive with their product. I assured them after I was assured on Friday that I could pick up trailer at 7am from your Uhaul reps when I made my reservation.BOB M.

The website wasn't working when I showed up to get my van so I had to go inside and it took about 10 minutes even though I did all the paperwork online already, partly due to the person helping me not being sure what to do on the computer. He told me to park the van and leave the keys in the seat. I've never rented a u-haul before so I just did as he said. When I asked another person outside if it really was okay to leave the keys on the seat he was rude. He told me I parked in the wrong spot and kept telling me to back up the van and re park. I told him I wasn't comfortable backing up, he just continued to tell me to back up. He said I was given the wrong instructions on what to do when I dropped off the van. I asked if I should lock the keys in or not and he said, again rudely, that if I lock them in then he'll charge me an extra fee. I was just asking to make sure I was doing the correct thing. He absolutely could have been more helpful and friendly. He made what was an pretty good experience with the van, not a great one.Stephane W.

This unit was not usable. We rented it without seeing it due to an emergency situation and arrived to see a unit that was a “stack unit” that I do not feel was adequately described on the website. I could not be happier with my experience at this UHAUL location. Everything explained clearly and they were quite patient with me as I was very tired after arriving from out of state and moving in 90+ degree weather. I was disappointed when my reservation was for a unit that required going up stairs. Zachary was able to seamlessly check the inventory and change my storage space to the ground level.
