When I got to the U-Haul, the facility was fairly busy but flowing. While picking up the keys to my rental, the employee I worked with had verified that I didn't intend to drive more than what I estimated for, and I responded to him letting him know that I well overestimated as to not have to pay more later. He then gave me the keys to the truck that I thought I was renting, and pointed out the exact truck to me that the keys even went to; but he must have gotten distracted somehow and gave me the keys to a truck that I later learned was not the vehicle that was supposed to be rented to me. So when I went to drop off the truck, the same employee that had checked my truck out to me, was available there and the person that came out to help me check my truck back in. He noticed almost instantly that it wasn't a truck that was supposed to be due to me based on the number on the back and made just sleight of enough comment out loud that I understood something was wrong. When I asked him what he meant, he said he had to go inside real quick and that he would be right back out, Not to worry about it. But when he came back out and I asked again, that's when he said it wasn't the truck that was supposed to be rented to me. He continued through his check in process and when he got to the odometer reading, he had a shocked response and ask me if I truly only ever drove 6 MI. I told him yeah, that didn't have any other truck and reminded him of the checkout process where I had expressed to him that I had well overestimated miles to not have to pay more later. But he was stuck on processing that it was the wrong truck still, and originally said he didn't know if he could check it back in like this because he didn't know if those were the real miles driven. So I reminded him that when he gave me the Keys the day before, that he had only ever giving me one set of keys and I drove away with the truck they went to. And he quickly recalled that that is what happened and was then able to complete the check-in process after having to go inside and work something out with his supervisor. While I was still talking to him, I asked him why there was a green and red tag on the storage unit door that I had just rented and paid on (for the first time) the day before. **The reason I asked is because the tag said on the green portion: UHHUL SELF-STORAGE - CUSTOMER READY - ROOM NO. ### - DETACH HERE WHEN CUSTOMER READY *(I am not sharing the actual storage room number for personal privacy)* The red portion of the tag said: 1- PRIOR CUSTOMER'S EVALUATION Room needs cleaning 2 - REPAIRS NEEDED DO NOT RENT He looked at the tag in further dismay and shock; and told me I must not have paid my rent on time to my unit. That it looked like the items that would be in it would be due to be Disposed of soon. So I responded letting him know that I had literally just placed the rental for the unit the day prior online and had never even walked up to it until an hour before dropping off my U-Haul truck rental. And all he could seem to do is responding further shock and stumble out the words: "I don't know what to tell you why that happened. That unit never should have been rented to you. There is no one on the property that can deal with this at the moment in time; but if you can, you should come in immediately on Monday and talk to our manager about it." He then referenced to a man named Chase. The U-Haul itself had minor damages already to it and when the guy had asked me how the rental went, the only reference I made was to how it had a coolant hissing sound when running and for sometime after turning off the truck. That it didn't overheat, and all things seemed to work fine, so I was thankful for the truck rental. The employee was extremely helpful and finishing the check-in process and all throughout continued to be really friendly, understanding, and apologetic. To which, I just kept saying It's no worries, that I was really thankful to have the rental, and that all went fine in the end. To clarify it never seemed like there was actually any issue between the employee and I. As frantic as he seemed about the 2 wrong rental situations, he tried to remain as professional as possible even with his confusion and shock. We both thank each other for each other's time, and wished each other a good day. And overall I am really glad to have had the rentals, but still do have to go through the process of going to talk to the manager in person about the storage unit issue this coming Monday.

If you have an extra moment take time to talk tothe Manager Jason. He is a interesting man with a lot of knowledge and is very helpful. He may also have a good story or two if he's not too busy providing you the best customer service you ever had 😀
