I was extremely pleased with this location coming through with a moving van after Budget Rentals left me high and dry even though I had a reservation and confirmation with them. The ONLY issue I had was I filled the gas tank the night I received the van only to get to it the next morning to find a huge leak in the tank. I dropped $75 to fill it up and lost over a quarter tank. It was explained to me their vehicles were recently hit by fuel thieves. They replaced the van immediately and I was on my way to visit my clients (after I stopped to fill this tank with gas). When I dropped the van back off, I was allowed to return it below the 3/8 mark and they waived the refuel fees. I will be returning to this territory monthly and will DEFINITELY come back to this location for my rentals! Thank you so much for standing by your equipment and your rental agreements!!!!

The location got broken into and the gas lines were drilled in all the trucks so when we got in our truck it was on empty. The folks who helped us in the afternoon on Saturday 11/26 at 1:30pm were very kind and helpful, especially Gina Cullen, who understood we were under time pressure and found us the one truck with gas in it. We had a little bit of trouble starting it but we did and we were able ti complete our move across the river on time but after unloading the furniture at our new home - we went to drive the truck back but it was dead. It looked like someone messed with the ignition cap because it was missing and might have tampered with the truck before we got it so we were stuck and called the road side assistance number we were given and were on hold a long time - we had half an hour to get the truck back and the drive back was 20 minutes - so since we could not get through to get road assistance in time we called a Lyft and kept holding and also tried to call the UHaul Sandy location but could not get through to anybody there either and when we finally got a person on the line we were transferred to the Happy Valley location - when we were almost back at the location across the river we finally got road assistance on the phone and they accused us of abandoning the truck we offered to go back and call our own AAA but they said no and that they were following protocol and we would be charged an abandonment fee! Once we got back to the location we explained the situation and again we were told we abandoned the truck - and would be charged a fee and that we had to go back to the truck and that we should try going through the website for uhaul's road assistance because it was easier. So we tried the website for road assistance seven times and got seven different verification codes and never got through on line so the assistant manager at this location - I think his name was Darien - did not try to call roadside assistance for us or help at all and was not kind, nor flexible, not rude but not helpful and when we asked what he would do he said he was just following protocol and would have to charge us an abandonment fee if we didn't bring back the truck. We told him the trick was in a safe location in a good neighborhood outside our house and that my father had just had a heart attack and was in the hospital recovering and I had to get to him. Still no compassion and no help just a robotic “I am just following protocol” so we asked to speak to his supervisor who he said was out of town, but eventually he gave us the district manager's number and we called. The district manager - maybe his name was Bob - and he was very kind and helpful and actually apologized telling us he was sorry that we had two trucks that malfunctioned that day and that “uhaul would own this one” and I think that meant we would not have to pay which was very kind and I hope that is true - to be fair I was very intense with this Darien - the assistant manager - because I was already stressed about my father and he was so unkind snd inflexible and though I understood that it was above his pay grade to help it waive any fees but was it above his pay grade to be kind? I mentioned to him that “Gina Cullen” was very helpful earlier that afternoon helping everybody get what they needed and asked why he couldn't be like her and at least try and find a solution and he said with a sneer that “she's just a cleaning lady” which I found very rude and very dismissive of his employee and then he said if she helped me she was doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing - what part was she doing that she wasn't supposed to be doing - being helpful - being human - being kind and respectful??? Truly she was the most helpful person there when all those trucks were out of gas and had been drilled and people were stressed. She should be promoted to office manager or trained to do something higher than clean IF that is indeed what she does because she was the bright light in a dark situation and they need a locked fence around that lot - it's happened to them before in Portland. . That whole staff that day working on 11/26 at 1:30, except the assistant manager, were very kind and helpful and respectful and I am sorry to give such a poor rating because I don't want anyone to get in trouble - but honestly a little kindness and flexibility go a long way !!

First van I tried renting had a hole drilled in the gas tank. Gas spilled everywhere when trying to fill up the tank and both uhaul locations I had to go to would not reimburse me for the gas that leaked. More security measures need to be taken to ensure these vans are not such frequent targets.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! the staff was RUDE, unfriendly and treated me like I was bothering them ! I was scammed into paying $10 insurance coverage when I said i DIDNT want that coverage! Then after returning the gas tank to the level as before, they charged me $5 more anyways saying I didnt! I was treated like I was the villian, when THEY were the villians!!! This place rips you off probulary cause of corpurate pressure to do so. The hidden fees and taxes are a rip off too! I will NOT be returning and I will NOT recommend this Uhual either. I have used this location in the past and it wasnt bad, what happened?? you have lost me as a customer.

Previous rentals haven't had any issues, until my last rental. This location is charging me for two days of rental and extra for gas; the van was returned the same day and at the same gas level. Completed check-in and out using the mobile app. Location continues to state it was two days. The contract date was 10/31, return date 10/31 after hours and final invoice with extra charges were sent to me on 11/7. Suggested they review their cameras to confirm drop off time and date. No answer yet.

Only happens twice a year but was not aware due to day light savings time change was not aware I had to bring back truck an hour earlier than I rented it. Not having the gas tank full is difficult. I ended up leaving $60 of gas in the truck. It's hard to estimate how much gas will be needed. I realize it's hard to keep the tanks full because of theft but I felt I paid a lot more than I should have for the rental.

They could if removed the signage in the window so I didn't have to struggle getting it down so I could drive it. Plus the windshield was really really dirty and their was no wiper fluid in it to even clean it. Making sure a person can see out of the window should be a priority.

I was a little less-than-pleased I was rented a truck with absolutely no gas in it to the point I was worried I would not make it to the nearest gas station. If a previous renter returns equipment on empty it shouldn't be the responsibility of the next renter to fix that, even if a "gas credit" is being applied to the rental.

When I brought the truck back an employee informed that there was a gas station on 82nd. A wild goose chase. I had to go back all the way to Hollywood. The same employee ordered my wife out of the parking lot when she was waiting for me to return. The employee was dirty, greasy, smug and rude. So that you can identify him, he was overweight,unkempt, and slimey. I am loyal to U-Haul and won't spite myself by not using this business, but this guy is not fit to deal with the public.

I went back twice because the wiring harnass was wrong. And, I have to go back a 3rd time because it is still not working. I guess I will need to pull the boat with me to make sure they et it right. It is a hassle in a city like Portland. They also did not have an elevated hitch-need 5" so I had to orser that on line.

I tried to use the Uhaul app, that didn't work. So I went to the online portal. Kept telling me that the picture I was prompted to take was blurry when it was not. So I contacted an employee who said they would honor the 17% discount when I returned (that didn't happen). Also, when picking up the vehicle they told me to return the van with more gas than the tank currently had and that they would reimburse me $12. I found it an odd request but did it anyway but was not reimbursed. Finally, circling back, I watched two employees gaslight two customers. The fellow that helped me was fine but these other two employees were making solvable problems into a power play. I'm currently on hold for 22 min (and counting) to get my $12 back, when the estimated time on hold was 10-15 min.

The people I talked to were pleasant and as helpful as possible. All negativity in this review should be regarded as being directed at U-Haul itself, not this location in particular. The self-check-in/out process was excruciating. The failure to make plain IN ADVANCE that I would need to have my passport with me in order to avoid even weirder paperwork (which one would also need to know in advance) or providing another person's contact info? Insane. The truck had less than a quarter tank of gas in it, and I had to check with an employee to verify that U-Haul's berzerk policies didn't actually go all the way to (as the check-in process suggested) charging me $30 for returning it with less than a quarter tank when that's how I received it. It also had a bad exhaust leak and spent the latter half of the rental sounding like it was about to stall. But it's really the self check in/out process that's so bad. I eventually got checked out, made the move, and on returning got stuck on step two because the app didn't seem to like my photos of the odometer and fuel gauge, despite matching the example, and didn't give me any error message or feedback, just didn't enable the Continue button. An employee was available to do the check-in, though I believe this incurred additional cost? Anything was better than continuing to fight uhaul.com to achieve progress and get on with my day. Overall, though this location was no better or worse than average, I was reminded why I try to avoid U-Haul whenever possible.

Better explain "share rental." But pay full price of it's a shard rental the rental amount should be shared. I reserved my truck and was told I only had 4 hours. I usually go to 122nd and Airport Way they didn't have rentals. I came to Sandy and the only person who was very very helpful was the worker who helped me use the check in on my phone.

The location itself is inconvenient. Small roads made it difficult to drive through and make turns. The location has only one way to get in, and one way to get out. I made the mistake of going the wrong way, and it cost me time trying to maneuver through the tight streets.

The available storage possesses hazardous access and unstable equipment to load personal items. I would not recommend this type of storage if seen in person. Pricing is high, particularly in relation to the type of building and storage provided. Overall, the staff was quite friendly, but the building, storage, and parking is subpar.

The best thing about this location is its manager, David. He is available at nearly all hours of the day which made my experience much better, and I thank him for that. However, everything else (mostly related to U-Haul at the corporate level) was unprofessional and disorganized. I was told (by a very kind and helpful customer service rep) that I could move into this location after-hours. I spent hours trying to get in, and ultimately ended up having to wait until morning to move in, which caused me to miss a flight and take on the expense. I learned later that move in after 10pm is not possible, which I was assured would not be an issue over the phone previously. Upon move-out, I had scheduled a truck at this location for 8/1, but when I could not find the reservation in my app I called the location. The clerk told me that the reservation was for 7/31 for a "Frank" (my name is Jack) and therefore was cancelled for no-show. I was looking at the confirmation message for 8/1 at noon, which I told the clerk, who responded, "the reservation was for 7/31 and it is cancelled. I don't know what you want me to do about this". Instead of fixing the problem he suggested I figure it out on my own. I ended up getting lucky and finding equipment at another location. I have very little trust with U-Haul now. I know that my money is not safe with U-Haul and I anticipate losing money and time when working with this company. The employees are not equipped to properly solve customer issues. I will not be a returning customer because I think it's bad business to make multiple errors (similar problems have occured the last two times I have used U-Haul in Seattle and Chicago) and tell the customer to figure out what the company did wrong and to fix it themselves on their own hour and dime.

My items were stolen from my container. They lost my key when they changed my lock and I paid rent on a unit were I was unaware my things were missing. The phone representative was rude and argumentative and now years of memories are gone. Thank God the washer and dryer were to big to take.

Staff and facility are great. What was appallingly bad was my experience with your website. I made a reservation online and received email confirmation, but your staff could find nothing about me on the store computers. My account had vanished. Total waste of time and very stressful. I also ended up with a storage unit much more expensive than what I had reserved. I cannot recommend UHaul to anyone because of this.

It was nice having a keycard to access whenever needed and not having to deal with staff during Covid. The facility was temperature and humidity controlled as advertised. The storage unit was secure and easily accessible. Whenever I had to talk to staff, which was only during move in and move out, they were kind and helpful. Only complaint I had is one of my boxes had mouse poop on it when I moved out. I know it isn't easy to control, but that was kinda gross. At least none of them died in there.

This unit was not usable. We rented it without seeing it due to an emergency situation and arrived to see a unit that was a “stack unit” that I do not feel was adequately described on the website. We had to cancel our rental that same day and rent a unit at a different storage facility. Everyone at U-Haul was nice, though.

I could not be happier with my experience at this UHAUL location. Everything explained clearly and they were quite patient with me as I was very tired after arriving from out of state and moving in 90+ degree weather. I was disappointed when my reservation was for a unit that required going up stairs. Zachary was able to seamlessly check the inventory and change my storage space to the ground level. My phone was not working and I could not call a car service after my move and Zachary offered calling a cab. A great customer service experience all around!

The folks at this U-Haul were always particularly helpful and friendly. The move-out process was also incredibly simple. I am very happy with my experience at this U-Haul facility.

worst experience I've ever had with any uhaul. manager was beyond rude from the moment that we arrived. Tried to force us to use an unsafe ladder to access our unit & wouldn't help us change location.

College dorm overflow Rather hard intitially to get info and deal with Staff, much stuff. Space was physically awkward to access as place up hight off floor. Expensive for Sq Ft.
