The staff at the Reno, NV location were absolutely the least professional staff I've ever seen. Waiting for my trailer, staff was joking and having inappropriate conversation refuting to clients as retarded. Once my trailer hitch was connected they failed to remove the other trailer connected to my vehicle and as I started to pull away they began yelling and expected me to help remove the second trailer. The 5th day of travel cross country the electrical connection between my SUV and trailer was severed and we lost all lights on the trailer. We pulled over at an ORiellys and purchased a new connection. This did not work. No lights on the trailer. We called UHaul support dispatch sent a driver/technician to assist. He began to play with the fuses in my SUV and after an hour some lights on the trailer turned on. No turn signals, no brake lights just running boards. He also disabled my SUVs turning lights. This was the worst experience with a rental. It put us in danger and violated traffic laws. When we returned the trailer to Palm Harbor, FL and described out experience he suggested we complain directly to corporate. We will never use UHaul ever.ELLEN S.

The left side mirror fell off my vehicle placing me in harm to myself and the vehicle. I got out and picked up the mirror from the street and returned it to the UHall office. I hit nothing and nothing hit me, it just fell off! Perhaps a result of a botched repair job at the center. The Assistant Manager was empathetic, kind and compassionate. She attempted to reach her manager who was off to try to authorize a full reimbursement for what I went through. Not being able to to reach him, I was told to call him the next day. Dealing with him was a totally different experience. He attempted to pin the mirror falling off on me. He lacked any understanding or empathy. He was not interested in refunding me my $84 dollars, not even willing to split it 50-50. He insulted my use of social media as a 70 year old person. Additionally, when I got the contract a Safe Move charge for $14 was added to the contract without giving me the option of accepting it. When I asked about the high price I was told it was due to the mileage charge, never mentioning the Safe Move Charge. Finally, the Roadside Assistance feature was never explained to me. Quite frankly, the employee who signed me out was more interested in setting up the Sunday football game to watch than in my business with UHall. This story will be repeated over and over again in the Reno community where I live. UHALL will loose far more than the $42 the manager pinched me out of. I would never use this site again, 3411 S. The trailer 6x12 was dirty & having tree in the molding well tie down.. but the help was right. I ordered the trailer in Carson city, Nv , I got here here, placed as change to Reno, with out phone /email.. I was upset. But dealing with it. Thank you ðŸ™ Mike DavisMichael D.

Reno location - employees not professional. Supervisor on duty put customer on speaker phone while we were in store and was talking down to them with no empathy or understanding. I understand the industry is busy but the customer should never be treated poorly. Gives uhaul a bad rap - otherwise no issues. Trailer not there even though I confirmed the night before. I wasted 1 1/2 hrs to go to new location and stand in line with my handyman whom I pay $40 per ht. Thus lost $60 because I wasn't notified the location had changed. The employee's attitude was horrible and there was a 20 minute wait in line and when I complained she said. â€œExcuse me but I am training a new employeeâ€. I was in mid-transaction with her and she had to stop and scold her employee and show how to do it right. All this with 6 others waiting in line. I felt sorry for them. Each time I rent from uhaul it costs me more than double the cost of the equipment in therm of wages and losttime! This happened just last month and I was notified 3 times that the location had changed yet when I got there they just said â€œIt isn't my fault that someone didn't return the equipmentâ€. And sent me to yet another lovation. That was a 45 minute unnecessary round trip at $40 per hour. Plus my valuable time. The only location that I get consistently good service and updates is at Incline village ,nv location. Is there ant way to GET CREDIT OR REIMBURSEMENT for my lost money due to paying my handyman over $80 and for my lost time and inconvenience. ??Jonas S.

Definitely go to any other location but this one. Terrible customer service, no communication, and they charged us an outrageous amount for fuel even though we returned it above where our contract stated so now we're waiting for it to be resolved with the location and general manager. One staff member was unhelpful; another was very helpful! I simply asked the first person where I should go for help returning my trailer, and she rolled her eyes and said "there are other three people walking around who will grab you; and by the way you are standing in my way." I'm unsure why she couldn't have simply pointed me in the right direction. When I did see another staff member and again asked where I go to return a trailer, this person said, "oh, I'm happy to help, just follow me inside." He led me to the desk, the people there were helpful, and one person led me outside to check out. So: a poor initial interaction with one person; and two others were kind, helpful, and efficient in getting me checked out.Rachel B.

Arrived to rent a van- a long line and one of two attendants decided it was a good idea to socialize with a customer having him talk to his daughter on the phone.Finally get to the counter and told there was no equipment available.Came back later to rent the van that sat there all day.The guy that was socializing earlier came out of one of your rentals and looked about as stoned as you can be- usually a person will acknowledge another and ask if they can help you, not just stare at you like he needed a nap.I didn't care for the music blasting out of his phone either- some rap garbage. When I returned, just before 5 the doors were already locked and the same guy from earlier came to the door in his cut off sleeves- as soon as he opened the door I could smell alcohol. This location just keeps declining- the staff here is pretty bad.Dennis F.
When I got back my car was blocked by u haul trucks. I had to call the manger as I couldn't get out. I worked 14 hours that day and was anxious to get home, especially since evacuations were occurring in Lake Tahoe where I live. Thirty minutes later 2 customers were returning a hitch. The second guy had his car blocked too. They took out measuring tape and measured the gap compared to the width of the blocked parked cars. There was a couple inches available. He told me to fold my side mirrors and guided me through. This was extremely aggravating to go through.brian S.

Worst U-Haul rental experience I have ever had. I don't understand how you can reserve a truck and accessories a week in advance and then I show up to pick up the truck and the furniture dolly and hand truck are not available. Then I call customer service to locate another furniture dolly and after driving another 5 miles out of my way to pick it up they say they don't have one. Such a waste of time and mileage. Uhaul usually provides great customer service but today was a joke.JIMMY JACOB L.
Told attendant about 12 volt plug not working and back door hard to handle. Wasn't concerned. Also right outside mirror kept creeping down making it a safety concern. I had multiple issues. I had a tow hitch installed that was done Incorrectly leaving the ground wire dragging under my car. Changed my pick up location with no warning or contact. Went to pick up the trailer and discovered the wiring wasn't working. Delt with extremely rude staff who had me driving all over to town to get my wiring fixed because no location would fix it. Finally found a uhaul location that would help me and fixed the issue. This set me moving across the country back because of your errors. This location is excellent. However, U-Haul regional changed the pickup location to Carson City 2 days before I was to pick up the truck I' had reserved almost 2 months earlier. Attempts to reach the scheduling Department resulted in hours of looping through the ridiculous U-Haul phone system. I cancelled the Carson City pickup and was able to rent the truck I needed at the 3411 S. Virginia St. location the day I needed it. The staff at the location is excellent.Rodney S.

First was downgraded to a smaller vehicle due to shortage thought that was fine, renting it for 3 days, was not made aware at pick up that they charge .43 a mile after a certain amount, then was randomly charged $608 (basically an entire additional truck rental) for mileage overage. I did not consent or authorize this charge but my credit card on file was used to charge it. So now I'm terrified that uhaul just stores my bank information and will randomly debit my account any time they feel like it and they claim it falls under a blanket â€œwavierâ€ signed during rental. The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful, polite and made the experience. The drop off was more difficult because the website was down for the return to check in the vehicle. The business opened at 9 a.m. so we called the general manager Christian Jones who was so rude and disrespectful and demeaning. He demanded I read the sign out loud to him and follow the prompts - since the website was not responding that did not help. There was no since of responsibility to help on his part. He was just rude and should not be the U-haul contact if that is how he is going to respond to customers calling for assistance. Thank you for the opportunity to write a review.Thomas C.
I was to return vehicle by 5:00 per my reservation. Upon arriving at facility at approximately 2:45pm to return vehicle, I was told by the lot attendant (who was on a break at that time) that he would take care of everything regarding the return and that I could leave which I did. Upon receiving receipt electronically, I was charged an after hours return fee of $20.00. This should not happen to returning customers.Greg W.
