I was told that location services check in doesn't always work and to call the next morning and they'd sort it out for me. Well I wake up to a surprise 20 dollar extra charge. I called, as instructed, and she wouldn't "sort it" as promised. She said someone would call me back and I never heard a word.

Everything went well, just as verified when I ordered the truck. The staff person I talked to when I made my reservation and the persons I worked with picking up and returning the truck made things easy for me. They were all knowledgeable and courteous. Particularly with the COVID-19 procedures. I was impressed.

Disappointed that I had to drive to Corvallis when I needed the truck in Albany, OR. Kudos to the Eugene Uhaul person who recommended getting the truck in Albany instead of driving a truck from and to Eugene and got me into the Uhaul system. Well done! Almost drove off without the pads.

You gotta improve your online process. Especially if you are going to maintain such a small staff at peak times. The guys I worked with were great but I spent a while at home getting set up and checked in and it turned out to be a waste of time once I got there to pick up my truck. I had to do it all over again.

I started with mobile check in but it was pouring down rain and I was getting soaked. Then, when I opened the cabin of truck there was standing water in the cup holders. I noticed that water was leaking through the ceiling and dripping into cup holders. Fortunately the office was open and sales representative found me a truck that was not leaking. We had to convert the mobile check in to in-person which was nice not having to be outside in the rain. U-haul remedied the problem quickly and I was satisfied with the truck rental.

I specifically requested a 4x8 trailer and made a reservation for it in advance. I wanted the smaller trailer for a long trip specifically for hauling less weight and the lower profile would have enabled my van better fuel economy. I didn't consider getting a 5x8 trailer an upgrade. I didn't want the extra height and weight. Why bother making a reservation for equipment that wasn't available? I made a reservation was for 4 days. On arrival at the dealership, they thought I only needed it for 6 hours. Just because your company is one of the only rental agencies in the business doesn't mean that you are allowed to mistreat your customers! I will remember this experience if I have future dealings with your company!

The agent was rude, abusive with his power and lacked all use of discretion regarding the use of masks/face shields. I will not go back there. Indeed, I asked a friend to return the vehicle because of this inappropriate employee who felt obligated to enforce his own version of our inept governor's edicts! He seemed to enjoy hassling me, despite my full compliance. I was never rude, though I certainly wanted to be. I complied with all of his constant directions. At no time was he or anyone else at risk. BTW, I am a retired physician, so I do know what I am talking about! He did not know that, and I did not share it. He needs counseling on public interaction, especially at times of mandates, regardless of the logic or illogic inherent in them.

You should not have the sign of $19.99 on the side of the vehicle when the bill comes out to $58. Way too expensive for a 10 mile round trip. Totally ridiculous.

Truck was permeating of marijuana stench. Cloths blankets and pillows needed to be thrown out. Tried to scam mileage and gas too. Reporting to credit card company and request a full refund and damages to my property. You should not be renting out these trucks whe. They smell like this.

All the people we spoke with at this location (by phone or at pick-up) were knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. The steps involving use of computer or other device worked well. NOTE: originally had selected Philomath location, but learned when I talked to them by phone to make sure online reservation received by them, that by the time of our rental they would no longer be a U-Haul Pick up Location. So we did have to drive into Corvallis, which required 20 minutes or so, for pick-up and drop-off. An e-mail from U-Haul regarding that would have been nice.

Online rental was quick and easy (similar to other services Uhaul provides), however storage access times are misrepresented. See screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/s4wayiH . "Storage Access" is stated to be from 5AM - 10PM with the option of 24hrs access as an additionally sold amenity. Unfortunately, this is not how the location handles it's accessible hours, instead you must use dual locks on your unit and request a key from the front office upon each visit, to unlock a secondary lock that the location owns. This must be done within business hours (7am - 7pm) and requires the physical surrendering (this is written during statewide quarantine) of a Uhaul accepted identification card, significantly reducing the usability of the storage. After 30 days, this inconvenience can be remedied by a fee increase of $120/yr for 24hr access. While stated otherwise on the rental webpage, there are not any actual access hours allowed between 5am - 7am or 7pm - 10pm unless special arrangements have been made with the front office per exception. This was not explained in any form upon move in. In fact, required front-desk sign in or supervised unit access is mentioned as a punishment for customer disturbances within the rental agreement and contains no reference to actual office hour requirements. Additionally, the confirmation email itself states that access hours are 5am-10pm Mon-Sun without any mention of a required check in. At this point I am curious what other red flags or fees will come about during this process that were left unexplained at the move in time or inaccurately represented on their website. I am understanding of the rules, that the location is allowed to set rules to maintain order on this premises, that the management is working hard to keep units secure for everybody and why this policy would be in place in absence of a gate. But with the combination of the false access times represented online & in the confirmation email, no mention of the specific access hours within the rental agreement itself and increased rent to use the access time already thought to be paid for - I feel that future buyers should be aware of this up front and take the omitted details into strong consideration when evaluating this location’s service.

The cargo van we rented locked itself with the keys in it while running before we even left the parking lot. When we reported it to the office the manager told us we had to pay to have a tow truck to unlock the van! Luckily it was covered by insurance and he let us leave with another van. We needed the van an extra day and I was told because of the days rented and the mileage, it would be cheaper for us. Instead of 79 cents per mile it would be more like 49 cents a mile. When we took the van back the guy helping us told he know the original van was like that. Why did we get that van in the first place if they knew there was an issue with it? Also, what happened to the cost cut on the mileage? Conveniently overlooked? I am quite disappointed in the Corvallis U-Haul and will not be using them again.

I have a VERY hard time getting any trailer anywhere. I order it 5 days in advance and got nothing but GRIFE from the local dispatch. If you look at my account I have rented many time over the past 3 years and this was the worst experience yet.

Truck ran well and appeared clean. Back deck felt as if it had oil on it and extremely slick. Mirrors shook so badly and doors wouldn't fully close due to molding or gaps. I paid insurance but truck outside very damaged in appearance which didn't bother me but should have been told etc. after 2 solid days of moving I returned truck early but was after hours. I fueled truck but did not see signage with instructions to load app! I had phone but what would I do if I didn't have phone. ) Anyway. Fueled and returned truck. They did refund for fuel but I was charged for after hours care even though I was returning early. Very disappointing way to make $ on me even though I was trying to get truck to you early knowing how difficult 26ft trucks are to have for local. Boo on you!

The service picking up and dropping off the vehicle was impeccable, very friendly and easy. The equipment was clean, but the interior cab of the truck I rented looked like it hadn't been dusted in over a month, and I briefly wondered if I was seeing leftover ash from the September fires on the dashboard. I did use my own Lysol wipes to be sure it was clean.

But the check-in after hours suck! I had trouble checking in the trailer that I rented on Sunday, October 11, 2020. I could not get your app to work, nor could my son. After 2 hours of dealing with it, we finally got the trailer checked in.

Self check-in requires you go back and forth between your vehicle and rooting around the building for signs to scan and the parking spot, to complete the process. I will not be using the self check-in or out again. Too much of my time was taken to complete the process in a cumbersome way, along with no accountability and having to clean up after the previous user of the vehiicle.

I appreciate all the measures to help keep staff and customers safe, but is there a way to help us remember to pick up a dolly we've rented once we've done the vehicle inspection? I had to drive back to pick mine up because I got distracted inspecting the truck, reparking my car, etc. The staff person reminded me before he gave me the key to the truck, but it was just such a different process than when I've rented before that I forgot that step in this new process. Not a problem, though, and I appreciate all the patient guidance during the checkout process!

Explain the after hours return policy and instructions to all parties. I was not informed of the mobile check in option, I don't even know if the individual I was with was informed of it, so it wasn't done. I only knew of it when I received the $20 charge on my account. Other than that it was a great experience and will use you again!

I was doing the contactless pickup using my phone. When I got to the lockbox, the key was not there. I had to go inside and wait in line for 15 minutes to find out that the employee had taken the key out of the lockbox because he didn't realize I was there and was going to rent my truck to someone else and then give me another truck. This was a big waste of time for me on a day when I was already stressed and busy (moving day).

Make sure all equipment ordered is in same place for pickup. The folks in Lebanon that had my tow dolly were great. They brought it to corvallis for me. With no help from the people in corvallis . They wanted me to get my truck drive 1 hr round trip to get car dolly then return to putcar on. They charge 20.00 to help you. A little snootie for my taste. The people in Lebanon were friendly and exceptionally helpful.

Have your employees actually check the status of a unit before giving it to someone else. However, my UBoxes did end up being more convenient, though more expensive. My unit was given to someone else even though I followed the directions of the employee who rented it to me. It's next to impossible to reach the Corvallis location via phone and when you do get connected, no one can ever seem to answer your questions without taking 20 minutes and talking to a manager (even if it's as simple as how much is UBox delivery). Horrible experience with UHaul and I'm going to pursue other options in the future.

This is a poorly managed facility. The staff appears to be under constant stress and frustration. Maybe there isn't enough employee's to handle the load. I also was charged an astronomical amount for being late one day on my storage unit, I was charged for more gas on the truck that I had rented, which was clearly not needed and then when I closed my account a week earlier was told there was no prorate. I will have to deal with another company in Corvallis now.

Transportation costs quoted were from a third party provider and inaccurate and incomplete. Damage from rats and mice from chewing and waste to personal items is extensive. No disputes, just subpar.
