I rented this truck as a 40 year old woman, I had my Dad with me when I was checking out my truck, Ron the manager was helping us, or so I thought.. when it came to reviewing the height or the truck, gas and all that stuff Ron talked around me/over me, my Dad was standing behind me and he used his name (he was my alternate contact) and explained it to him, not me!!! I was the only driver, it was my credit card that was paying for the rental and yet my Dad actually had to tell Ron that I was the driver and he needed to address me as the woman who was actually renting the truck. When we returned the truck, I asked if I could speak with Ron who is the manager and he ignored me and my Dad and told one of he associates that he was busy and couldn't talk with us!! I was very disappointed with how I was treated and honestly if it wasn't raining I would have never spent $250 to rent this truck!Jennifer S.

Quick and easy. I wish I didn't have to drive 20 stupid minutes to drop the dumb thing off. I know there were U-Hauls closer, but U-Haul refused to let me drop them off there.Laura B.
Booked a vehicle for 4 hours 9:30-1:30 since I had a 2:30 appointment that could not be missed. Booked the vehicle online, uploaded license as requested to save time. Arrived at location at 9:15. Waited in line for over an hour! People that wanted to purchase packing items came in and left. I was unable to achieve what was needed since I wasted over an hour in line. They had no record of my driver's license even though I uploaded on line. I received a notification that my vehicle was due at 1;30 even though I did not physically get the vehicle until 10:21 as per Uhaul contract. Employees were polite just unprepared. Everyone that stayed in line had reservations. If you are aware of that many reservations there should have been more employees to assist.DEBBY SUZANNE H.

This is the second time in a row, after renting 100s of Uhauls that I have been charged 25.00 cleaning fee. Once for renting pads and leaving them in a pile and they needed to be FOLDED. 10 pads. 2.50 a pad ridiculous....this time we swept and cleaned all garbage where Uhaul said there was dirt that needed to be washed out of the back. Whatever.. if it happens again with ALL the rentals my company rents it may be time to look for a different rental company. Love Ron at Oak Grove and Carl at Clackamas Town center..Jahne C.

The location and staff were great. The self service app experiences wasn't great. It took way to long from the time I got to the location and went through steps in the app to the point that I got the keys. It would have been way faster for me to go inside and skip the app all together.MICHAEL M.

I originally wanted (requested) to rent the truck in Oregon City, but had to pick it up at a different location than expected, which was almost nine (9) miles from my house. This added 18 miles of additional cost to my 2-day rental, due to having to pick up and return the vehicle much farther from my house than originally planned and budgeted for.gary C.

Make sure the customers understand the size of vehicle they are renting. I believed i was renting a 12' truck but it was just a 10'. It all worked out but might have been easier to load with that extra 2'.NANCY JEAN S.
We were overcharged for mileage....they said we went 79 miles going from their store to our house and then to Goodwill one time and back to our house and then to their store....we actually made that same run in our car and it came out to a little over 40 miles TOTAL.....will NOT recommend them or U-Haul to anyonejody G.

The person that assisted me at the desk was friendly and helpful. However there was a long line (20min wait before getting service). The truck was partially ready (lacked blankets and dolly). It was a total disaster when I checked in to pick up the truck I had reserved. There were only 2 people working and a line of 8 or more people needing service. I showed up at 9:55 for my 10am reservation and did not pull out of the lot until about 10:50 or so.patrick S.

Well when my husband picked up the truck he looked in the cargo area and saw a cigarette butt and lighter and a pile of moving blankets. Thinking I ordered the blankets he closed the door and left. About a mile away and a couple of tight turns he heard banging on the wall behind him and a smell that could have only been produced by a visitor down on his luck. He decided to make a u turn after the next half mile. My husband would yell back between the stop light â€œcalm down, I taking you backâ€ The banging continued so he then again yelled with a level loud enough to be heard or the roaring engine â€œ chill Bro! Your not going anywhereâ€ the banging and pounding increased like a perfectly timed metronome. (Bang, bang, bang, bang). He pulled back into the u-haul lot. He got out frustrated like an old man returning soup at a restaurant. My husband started to tell the manager about what he thought was blankets when the manager quickly cut him off and said â€œ no blankets! Jessica did not request itâ€ my husband stopped him and said â€œ hang on parter we got bigger problems than thatâ€.... â€œ I have a bum in the back of the cargo holdâ€ The manager swiftly made his way to the shake shift hobo taxi. The manger opened the door and the man jumped out and looked at both of them with a credulous look saying â€œwhat the $&@ man?â€ â€œThe manger said get off my propertyâ€ A verbal battle ensued which lead to the stowaway saying I should call the cops. My husband looked at the vagrant and just stood their not believing that this was still going on. After the manager told the â€œgentlemanâ€ he will call the cops the man left. My husband said to the manager â€œwelcome to Portlandâ€ All the manger said was â€œ yup just like everywhereâ€ and picked up the blanket. No sorry, no let me offer you something even just an apology would have been welcomed. All these items are true and not fabricated. We understand that Portland Oregon has a large homeless problem but not even a sorry. Kind of a let us down for a company like u-haul. Hopefully next time our experience will be like we have experienced before. If we use u-haul again.Jessica M.

It's really unfortunate but I ordered a 10 ft truck and it 4 phone calls and finally sitting on hold for over 20 minutes to upgrade to 15'. I tried the online option and it wouldn't work. I was dealing with a very stressful family situation and an unexpected move. The system was not adequate. When I arrived to pick up my truck I had to stand in line for well over half an hour... after 2 people gave up and left the line. The movers were waiting...and i was paying 70 and hour...until I could get the truck. 11:00 was my pickup...a block away from my daughter's apartment. I arrived there at 10:50 and got possession of the truck at around 11:27. The paperwork didn't reflect the difference between my scheduled time vs when I actually got keys and my drop off requirement. The person managing the fiasco in the store was doing his very best. He was calm and friendly. Everyone waiting was understanding. I drove a total of 5 miles... but spent almost $8 to fill the tank that was supposedly full when I got it and another 10 or so in misc fees. I had the truck for less than 3 hours. The vast majority of the time it was parked. I drove it 5 miles and bought more than 2 gallons of gas. It was returned in absolutely pristine condition yet I'm being charged environmental fees etc. Really? For getting a truck a half an hour late...paying movers $37 wait time...driving 5 miles and paying for more than 2 gallons of gas? I have absolute respect for the person trying to handle an line of 6 people all needing individual attention. He did a stellar job. I do have a problem with being nickel and dimed with no appreciation for my patience and the money I had to pay out to the movers and the stress it caused. Please warn people that there will be a minimum of a half hour+ wait to go through the pick up process. This cost me at least $40. It is outrageous to me that you think it's appropriate to charge a vehicle licensing charge etc. I waited in line for more than half an hour...I paid movers to wait.. there is no way I should have paid for almost $8 in gas for driving 5 miles plus more than a dollar the per mileage fee . I rented for 4 hours and had the truck back in less than 3 in pristine condition and more gas than when I took it off your lot. I'm upset about paying my movers because you are understaffed and paying for more gas than I used and a per mileage fee and a licensing fee etc. It's really not ok. And I appreciate how hard the one person you had on staff was working to stay calm and professionally handle the overload.Kathryn W.

After reserving (and paying in advance - including estimated mileage) a pick-up truck for the next day and being CONFIRMED for a 10:45 pick up, I get a message at 9am that my pick-up truck is going to be at another location - 10 miles away! I live 3 blocks away from the original location and planned to walk there. I had no way of getting to this other location (AND it would have cost me much more in mileage!). I refused. "Kyle" on the phone offered a cargo van at the original location. I had planned to dump some junk and then get some soil but I decided to put off the soil and just use the van to go to the dump. I asked if U-Haul follows any Covid disinfecting protocols and I was told, "I don't know. You can ask at the store." Wow. That's a pretty inadequate answer. When I got to the store and asked if the van is disinfected for covid safety the man said simply, "yeah." Well he was full of sh*t. The interior of the van was dirty with human hair and specs of dirt all over the cab. Clearly NOT cleaned at all. There was also a rip in the mat in the back that was NOT indicated in the pictures showing the current condition. I took a picture of it and submitted it before leaving. Were you going to try to charge me for that, if I hadn't reported it? Who knows? Overall this was a crappy experience and your employees made it so. I hope to never have to rent from U-haul again!!Scott R.

When I walked in there was no attendant around. There were 4 other people waiting. I went out side and found someone and he was very rude and told me "in a minute". He was the manager of the location and the only one helping customers. He was very slow and walked away from the counter multiple times to go outside and wander. I would never return to this location. again. I have rented from U-Haul in the past and was VERY satisfied. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!connie H.
Received a call day before saying they didn't have pick up trucks and that we would need to use a 10'. We agreed. Arrived and he said they had a pick up and said kid the night before was wrong. Sent me out alone to find truck, no pick up truck, then said a 10', Wrong vehicle, it was a van, and blamed it on the kids that worked the night before. We got a 2 or 3 bedroom space in storage got to our destination and the 2 and 3 bedroom storages are all up 3 landings not exactly the easy way of moving would have been nice to know before getting my hopes up in Salem Oregon to my over hour journey 3 storages later not fun I ended up going to 3 separate uhaul storage places . There are people smoking drugs and living inside at least two units at this location. You can smell chemical odors when you drive by their open units, that appear never to close, only to get tarped closed. They also jump out and scream at you randomly while visiting your own unit. This went on for 4+ months. I attempted to message you via your website but got cut off multiple times. As a busy person with a business, it took me some time to find another option. But I’m thankful I did. As we were leaving another homeless person with a large full shopping cart was moving into the storage unit down the hall. Our lock looked like it had been tampered with and the unit door looked like it had been bent at the bottom. I’ve always had good service by you folks at other locations. This location is just horrible and needs to be rebought by corporate. The employees are unfriendly and unhelpful. I feel like they owe me for at least half of my rent back, due to negligence. General manager let’s people live in there storage units! They are homeless people! When I talked to Ron he was very Rude and not wanting to do anything about it! I was told that he has a lot of Nice homeless people living there!!! The facility is not a home to live in. The whole place is filthy with used needles and garbage all over! I had to move out the next day. I was talked to horrible from Ron. I was also told that I should go look at other storage places they have the same thing going on there! Every time I went there I had to go to the office and report a problem. Mostly talking to Ron. I never felt that my stuff was secure there. Really all I have to say it WAS THEY WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A UHAUL! Thank goodness the 3 people I talked to on October 3rd 2020 were very helpful and understanding on what is happening there. Also Ron I did get a refund for a whole month there because of you! I am looking forward to talking to his boss soon and I am not going to hold anything back from him. I will never tell anyone to go to this location because of the general manager there. I have never been so disrespected from any MAN as I was with RON!! This past winter, when my mom had to move to a nursing home, we chose this location purely for it's proximity to out home. We were so fortunate. We needed to rent a truck and get storage in a major hurry. The staff were super helpful, and the manager even helped us out with locks, because we didn't have the right ones, or the money to buy them right then. I am impressed with the security of the facility, the ease of access and the professionalism of the staff.
