This was by far the worst customer service I have ever been provided. The staff was incompetent and could not help me out in any way shape or form. My day began at 7:30am when I arrived at the powell Uhaul pickup where I had a reservation for a 10' truck and dolly. There was no reservation for anything within their system and no dolly available at the site. This meant that I was to drive across town 20 minutes to the Milwaukie store where I was to pick up the dolly. The associate that I was originally working with at the Milwaukie store was aggressive and took all my issues I was expressing about the poor customer service I was receiving through Uhaul, as a personal insult. Not professional. They also charged me 2 times as much for the trailer as I was originally quoted over a month before the pickup day. He was unable to alter the price at all, and said I needed to wait until the assistant manager showed up because she was the person who could alter the price. I waited 2 hours for the 11am start time of the Assistant manager to arrived and waited to receive a phone call. She never called. At 11:30am, I go ahead and call the Milwaukie Uhaul store, and get put onto hold for 5 minutes. After that 5 minutes, the call was picked up by someone on the other end of the line, then immediately hung up. I then try and call back, and the phone line escalates me to what I assume to be regional customer service. A few minute later, I received a call from the assistant manager at the Milwaukie store, Jessie. Jessie expressed to me that because she was not there at the time of the interaction, there was no way she could help me... this is exactly the opposite of what her associate had told me 2 hours prior, and the entire reason i felt OK swiping my card in the machine. When she told me she was unable to help me, after having described my entire situation I got upset and asked why it was everyone I have worked with in the portland oregon stores seems to not be able to help me despite a quote and confirmation emails. Jessie, the assistant manager at the milwaukie store, hung up the phone on me. I was astonished. I have never seen such poor management material. I honestly thing she needs to be demoted to being a regular associate. The gentleman with the regional customer service, Joshua, was helpful and got to the bottom of the situation. He notified me there was some mixxup in the server and my order had been placed under a different name. He said the reason I was being charged more for the same 2 products was because the 2 stores had not communicated to each other and had not charged me the combination pricing for the truck and trailer. This is a very simple fix that for some reason nobody could figure out at either of the Portland stores we went to. Overall, the experience sucked and I will be going with Penske next time. *Remember* Jessie was completely helpless and the entire sales team needs to be retrained in customer service.

Sean Carter is rude and we will NEVER use this location again. I will make sure anyone I know doesn't either. I can't believe you have people like him working for your company. It's truly unfortunate!!

I wouldn't recommend uhaul for anything ever again. The locations and the people at the locations are fine but the whole reservation and drop of system if a big freaking joke. It cost me in labor money because you switched my pickup up location 40 minutes round trip from the requested pick up location and notified me two hours prior to pick up via email which I didn't see till I was going to pick up at the location I requested. So I had people standing around getting paid to do nothing. When I called they tried to tell me that some one contacted me a few days prior (I had no voicemail) and that someone called me the morning of (I had no missed calls). I got nothing but lies. Then you changed my drop of location another 13 miles away from where I originally requested it. With only 30 miles allowance, that is a super crappy thing to do. I see this as extortion.

As I was waiting to be helped, I watched as the manager argued with a customer. The customer was angry that he hasn't been told about the mileage charge. The managers response was that he didn't have to rent to him. That the man could go somewhere else. Then when it was my turn I was told the trailer I had rented for 24 hours needed to be returned in 20 because they had reserved it to someone else. I had to rearrange how I did my move I'm order to accommodate this change. I told the counter person I had it rented until 3 pm his response was simply that it was rented at 11 and I would need to have it back by then. The customer down the counter that had the argument with the manager and I shared a look, both of us shocked at the level of service. I will never use this location again.
