(1) Staff and service was very good. (2) Equipment was clean. However it felt dangerous to drive that vehicle on the freeway. The steering to wheel coordination was off, and at times, it was difficult to control it to keep it going straight. It's not a simple alignment or balancing issue, but steering control related issue.

I tried to get in touch with someone at the site for about an hour between 3-4pm and never could get to the right person. U-Haul customer support by phone, when I tried, was impossible. Later my daughter called from the car and got through.

Check in process was very easy and friendly along with very informative. Staff all seemed to have great attitudes and energy which kept all customers in a happy state of mind. Facility seems very secure unlike a lot of other storages which was the biggest deciding factor for choosing this location. Would highly recommend this storage to anyone

Sad visit- Train your front counter reps, how to say hello to give just a simple greet. Three reps should not be handling an issue while there are people in line - talking loud causing CHAOS. with my kids there my husband asked if truck was to take, No they said needed to be cleaned - we get assigned a truck that was just returned from another customer. Husband how much longer. Representatives response was "when we get out there" .( loud, proud and rude - very impressive. My 4yr. Snapped her head up to me and said - " oh!" . Representative in long hair- I suggest u worry more about your appearance than how u appear to your customers. Whatever job your working for the meantime- make the best of it.

I have rent variety of vehicles n met nearly all staff at the Santa Clara location. They are all above and beyond. I have been under stress from relocation. Yet , their professional manner, kindness and understanding that was more than a gift to me . Anjelica herself is very thorough. I made a reservation for a rental van (Reservation Number#23860192) at Postal Annex, 2010 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA - 95050. Upon reaching the pickup point at the designated reservation time of 2pm, I was told that the van keys were not available and thus my reservation could not be honored. I was then asked to go to another centre which was a few miles away on another reservation at 2:30pm which was then made for me. Per your website, before booking, I was assured a reservation guarantee

I ramp is a safety hazard when unload through the dock area. It's the yellow bar that prevents us from using a dolly to move our items from the truck ramp and we are still having to lift heavy boxes over the yellow bar. We had to drive around the side to make it easier on our backs. Everything else was awesome!

During drop off the guy had me going back and forth trying to get the auto transport perfectly in between 2 lines, he was being to lazy to use the tool to park the auto transport. Wasted about $10 in gas trying to park the damn thing

This was by far the worst experience of renting a truck. We were given a 15' truck for which the check engine light was on all the time. Then we noticed chips on windshield when we were driving. The truck was not maintained at all. Then when we returned the truck and hand them the keys it was atleast 15 min before our 24 hour rental period and they told us that we will get final receipt later and guess what they charged us for 2 days later. We had to call to fix their mistake. Totally unprofessional behavior of the staff. We also had a storage concern which can only be handled by the manager and they made us wait one hour in store and manager told us directly to wait for him and then left the store and did not even return. They just have no discipline in working so I rated accordingly.

I picked up my trailer at Santa and dropped it off at 9190 W Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO. The employees I interacted with at both locations do a big dis-service to UHaul. They treat customers very badly. E.g. when I picked up at Laurelwood, Santa Clara, CA , the employee is asking me each and every question instead of pulling up reservation. This inspire of me downloading the app and doing an express checkin.

I rented a truck for just a short time, on Monday 6/6 to move some items to a storage unit, the young male attendant who assisted me was extremely helpful and friendly. A++++ for great customer service and helping explain some questions I had, while being friendly and relatable. I would return to this location solely because I was impressed with the high level of customer service. I wish I had gotten his name, hopefully this feedback finds him. Thank you!

Hi, I had no issue with the truck itself but many issues with the rental process and the additional charges. 1- There was only one person at the counter and a long line of customers waiting to get help. 2- I managed to do all the paperwork online on my cell phone while waiting for my turn but still had to go back to the counter to get the keys 3- Although I had not accepted the $20 insurance charges, but I ended up being charged for it?! 3- A manager had to over-rule the additional $45 charges for gas upon return. They claimed the gas meter was at 3/4 full when I received the truck whereas the picture, I had taken showed it to be closer to 1/2 full (same as when I returned the truck). 4- Although my credit card was charged for all the charges and I received a final receipt in e-mail, now (2 days later) I see a pending request on my credit card for additional charges of $7.56, but I have no e-mail explaining what these additional charges are and why they were not discussed when I returned the car. Should be a separate line for those with a reservation vs. those buying moving materials. There was a long line we didn't anticipate. There were no instructions on the truck. There should be basic information on how to operate the truck in the glove box. Also there should be a tool to adjust the mirrors. Very dangerous! Maybe there was information online, but a simple one-page sheet should be provided. We should be told in advance the gas level would only be 1/4 full.

The box arrived 2 days late, on May 30 instead of May 28 as initially planned. U-Haul policy of paying the customer $50 for every late day has not been honored so far. Thus a $100 total refund is still in the waiting. Hopefully, U-Haul will act on this as promised.

Vehicle was not clean in the outside I couldn't locate the vehicle and I put more gas than originally was in the tank prior to driving out it no credit for putting more gas than was used. Also left my sun glasses and reading glasses in the rental. Went back to check if there's any lost and found and the guys said yeah and he looked but no sun glasses or reading glasses was in the list and found box. He didn't let me check out the box. So I took his word for it.

The truck was quite old and run down but it got the job done. It was dirty inside and I found several left over items from other renters including a phone. My main complaint is they overcharged me. I only rented half a dozen blankets and I was charged for a full dozen. They also doubled the price of SafeMove on my bill and charged me for gas even though I brought it back filled to the level on the contract. I have receipts and pictures to prove it. Everything was fine until I got the email receipt and saw all the errors.

The container arrived at Woburn, MA early. So I arranged an early delivery on 5/19/22. I was told that the container would be delivered between 1 and 4 PM. I waited until about 4 PM and called the Woburn office. They said there would be a 1 1/2 hour delay. The container eventually arrived about 3 hours later about 7:00 PM. I was very diappointed that the Woburn office didn't notify me earlier of the delay.

Ask if the customer wants to add insurance instead of assuming they do. And also ask them which location they would like to drop off at instead of choosing a place for them. The place I got my truck from at the alameda store was a prime example of how you should operate.

Just want to point out two things straight forward. 1. Container arrived after a month, and 1day after guaranteed delivery day. 2. Called so many times to ship container. We never requested storage but You charged me storage fee. - Called U-Haul to get refund and they are just passing phone forth and back..after long 45 min wait… Hope somebody truly asked opinion and Wish I get my refund..

When I reached the U haul storage, I was told that the code provided would not work. So I was given an access card. That’s why I would not call the online process smooth. The access card given is only one, also there was no mention while reserving that space will be on 2nd floor. Also there was this huge pole in the middle which restricted movement after getting out of lift and reaching our space.

The U-Haul facility itself was cool but me being a plumber and storing my tools here. Well let's say I get an emergency call in the middle of the night. In order to make a living for myself I need access to my tools 24/7 now there were signs all over the facility that said "for 24hr access, please use front door, which I did. Next thing you know Santa Clara police is there accusing of my fiance and I of burgalury, and pointing assault rifles at us, slamming my fiance up against a squad car, calling us liars etc... and picking up our little puppy that was with us, by the scruff of her neck and then just tossing her in the back of the squad car like a rag doll. Then just letting us go, thank you U-Haul for not pressing charges against us (even though we had not committed any crimes on your premises.)

Worst experience ever. I paid $120 a month for a year to keep a washer and dryer stored. I was forced to buy your locks and insurance. Someone was breaking into storage units including mine they jammed my lock. I was forced to get a lock smith to open the lock. My insurance didn't cover it. You are so far away from where I live I finally gave away the washer n drier just to not have to pay $120 a month anymore. I will never use U-Haul ever again.

Angel was amazing! She helped me get into a unit and help merge my wife’s unit. She was helpful and extremely knowledgeable. She is a great representative of the usual brand. She has my business for any moving related needs I may come across. I will also send anyone I know looking for something here. It may be a drive but it will be well worth your time.

This storage location was good overall but maybe that’s because I rarely went there. The few times I did go to the storage unit it wasn’t always convenient to get in with the card swiping system. Initially you would swipe your card to go in and out just as an accountability of you using your storage unit. However, eventually they changed it to swiping in and then also swiping another box in order to open up the doors without notifying the customers. I understand the change was a deterrent for random people coming into the storage area but there was a moment I went to the storage unit and the doors didn’t work and the office wasn’t open yet so it was an inconvenience to me.

My unit was one of 6 which were broken into on November 6, 2021. While your facility was very well kept, and immaculately clean, and your staff (especially Alex Wentworth and manager Levi) were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and polite, I still don't understand how you could not have better camera coverage of at least the entrance areas nor of the surrounding parking lots, and why the alarms on the units were basically useless after hours (police said they didn't have license plate on the car that the thief used, nor any usable video to identify him, and no one responded to the alarm going off). And why the door latch could be broken on the side, rendering that heavy disc lock you recommend useless. We lost more than $15,000 of items, including a vintage and very rare guitar (irreplaceable, only 1,000 in existence), winter clothing, CDs/DVDs, computer equipment and most hurtful of all, our only copies of honestly thousands of personal photos, cards, documents and letters. As we had the smallest possible unit and we were upstairs, it seems clear to us that we were scouted by thieves before the robbery, but even with that no one could provide the police with suspects. So I have no idea where the cameras are, but to tout your keycard, alarm and lock system as being secure was clearly untrue. In short, we had a terrible U-Haul experience, and will not be recommending anything to anyone other than to stay away. I don't blame the team at the office as the choices on not having adequate cameras, actual alarm follow up or stronger unit doors are all corporate choices and probably standard at all locations (and likely choices made with cost savings in mind). We can never get our family photos and personal items replaced. That didn't have to happen if U-Haul held up their end of the bargain and truly had a secure facility.

I HATE TO GO AS THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST STORAGE I'VE HAD. IN ANY CASE THAT I WOULD NEED A STORAGE AGAIN, I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK TO THIS U-HAUL STORAGE IN SANTA CLARA. THANKS EVERYONE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We were contacted by U-Haul representative saying that all the contents of a 10ft U-Haul should fit in a 5x10 storage space and she booked a 5x10x5 storage space for us. She was definitely wrong about that, and the representatives at U-Haul location gave us a much higher rate than what we were promised during the phone reservation.
