You could most certainly be more clear with your building layout and design. Your facility is way too big for only having such a simple and confusing directory.

I had to take the 2 smaller units and the staff were friendly but I should not have been allowed to rent something that wasn't actually available.

The reuse recycle area seem to be just a collection point for garbage. It always seemed to be emptied by the janitor. And it never really felt like anyone got a chance to Check out the items before they were taken. Just really disappointed about not having 24 hour access. That's what's advertised, that's what I feel should have been Honored. I was given no explanation when I called and checked into twenty four hour access. The bathrooms were always disgusting, toilets overfull. Garbage needed to be taken out. Just filthy. From what I understand The less fortunate need to find some other place to congregate at. Im sorry I don't know how you go about that. But that needs to be taken care of. Sooner than later.

I rented there approx three years, they new I had a hardship, and gave me the opportunity to save my belongings, very nice GM XAVIER and prior manger/GM, he also allowed me time to fix the problem, they were unbelievably considerate. I doubt I’ll ever meet any ppl this decent in business again❤️

While the roadside assistance was able to bring a new wheel, they were first given the wrong specifications and we had to wait for an additional hour while they switched it out. The entire experience took 4 hrs.

We unloaded our Uhaul here while we stayed in a temporary living situation until we could move in. The facility was nice and clean. You get a code that will unlock the garages and doors. I felt very secured that I could close the garage so no passbyers can come in a snoop. Anytime I went, there were usually other people going about their own business. Carts were always available to use. Move out was also very simple! Highly recommend to anyone needing a storage unit.

I went to the store and, for some reason, spelled my last name wrong over the phone, which is why nothing saved and I couldn't get the app to work for me. That took 45-60 min at the store by the time I got done. Otherwise no issues.

It was 5pm and they said the office closed at 7pm so not sure what was going on. The experience trying to find our unit was honestly terrible and even had other people who had units there trying to help us pointing us in all the wrong places. We walked around so much that eventually my boxes tipped off the cart and to the floor braking our glass cups. (Picked up the glass bast I could.) Also I’ve been in the facility before and had never seen the units that required stairs to get to them, I know the description said stairs but I figured the elevator would also go to where we were needed to go, we are going to work with what we have but now need to find other places to put our things that are to heavy to carry up 10 steps.

THERE'S NO REASON YOU COULDN'T RENT THAT OUT TO SOMEONE ELSE RIGHT AWAY. WE WERE TOLD WE COULD RENT AN 8x10 UNIT FOR ABOUT $119 AND THOUGHT IT WAS RESERVED FOR US. HOWEVER, WHEN WE GOT THERE TO UNLOAD, THERE WAS NO UNIT ASSIGNED TO US AND WAS FORCED TO TAKE A 10X10 FOR ABOUT 30-40 DOLLARS MORE. THAT ERROR WAS MADE BY UHAUL WHEN I FIRST CALLED TO RESERVE STORAGE!!

Derek Z | Overall ExperienceI would not recommend this facility. My unit was broken into, things were stolen from my unit. The lock was changed without my knowledge. I went to get some things out, but my key would not work. I went to the office and was told the lock was changed a month prior. I was told the lock was found to be open, so a new one was put on. I was never told anything until I went to the office to find out why my key didn't work. Once I got into my unit, things were in disarray and items missing. I made the staff aware. I was told to send an email to the manager, which I did. I never received a response or any action taken to resolve my issue. I asked the video be reviewed to find out what happens. That never happened either. I would NEVER recomend anyone to use U-Haul storage. It's not secure in anyway. I would till like to find out who got into my unit, as well as compensation for the items stolen.

The next day the moving plans changed so I needed to cancel my reservation for the storage unit. I called in on the 26th to do this. It was canceled, and I was told at that time that I would not be charged for the rental because I never moved into it. I found out a couple days ago and I was looking into truck rates that you still had my reservation in my account and it was charged for so I need to have that charge reversed. I called him to have it reversed and I was transferred around and then I called the main office in Sioux Falls and I never received a call back I marked everything no because I have no experience with a storage facility at U-Haul it to base it on. I want my monthly rental fee reversed off of my card that was charged.

It would also be great if the map provided could have yellow highlighter marking the path to the customers storage space ( the place is a maze). Letting the customer know they need to activate the entrance doors when they leave would also be great. It’s was very frustrating on one drop off that the largest overhead door wouldn’t open ( my movers were on the clock and another customer with a compact car was using the next largest bay). You should have a local number to call for assistance. A customer shouldn’t have to wait for assistance for an hour and a half.

I'm very disappointed in how long the process drug out, no one answered calls, and then I received pre-lein notices on a unit I no longer used which is ridiculous. I never paid late and was always on time and then for this to all happen was really frustrating. I moved out of my unit June 11 and I contacted uhaul about it a couple days later and multiple times from then. It is now July 19th and I'm finally being contacted it's closed out after multiple customer service calls I made and notes being put on my file.

They were going to try to charge us 1200 extra. We were able to rent a truck and storage unit from Uhaul for a fraction of that amount. Then when I came back again I had the wrong key for my u it which I know is my own fault but when I asked the office for help they told me they were too busy even though they were already there and to call a locksmith so I did and then they ended up coming and taking care of the lock without telling me and they charged $50 to do so to my card on file again without telling me and then I had to cancel the locksmith I had called. I won't be using uhaul again.

I had called the local number numerous times. 1st time I was TOLD hold no please nothing else, I hung up after 1 he called corporate # & still got no-one even though it was during business hrs Next time I called & someone answered phone with the usual business greeting, I asked what was his name, I always ask for a person's name & he said I didn't give it to you so I asked again & he hung up on me. I called back & it rang & rang it didn't roll over to call center. I called back again & again. Someone would pick up & immediately hang up. So no I will intentionally never recommend uhaul to anyone & go out of my way to talk them out of ever using your company. It's sad because your company has been around my whole life & I thought it was number 1 co for that need but nooooo

At this time all my belongings were in a truck on their way to Sioux Falls. They did give me two smaller units and the 1st month free but then when we got to the unit one of them was locked which once again cost the movers time and me money. No one could give me an explanation as to why reservations are “first come first serve “ which is the exact opposite of having a reservation. This policy definitely needs to be addressed.

Once I got access to one, instructions unclear as to how to disarm the unit. Trying to locate the unit using wall maps was confusing, as maps were pointed in different directions in different parts of the building. Finally, the loading bay door had closed me in. When I tried to leave, the ground sensor didn't trigger the door to open. Spent 15 minutes trying to reach someone on the numbers given to me. No one was available. Finally found the manual door buttons on the wall. Very frustrated with the experience.
Thomas S | Online Move InThe units are super small for the prices and very awkwardly shaped. The controlled access is nice and so are the drive in loading docks. They have carts for everyone to use and the whole nine yards. The reason I give it an "below average" rating and not an excellent. Is because like I said in the beginning. The units are small and odd and a bit spendy. The biggest contributer to my disappointment is the overhead garage doors are mostly broken. There appear to be 5 loading docks available for people to pull Into. Well "NORMALLY" there are 5. But this time THREE of the 5 doors are broken and not operational. So every time I drive to drop my things into storage. I'm unable to unload unless I want to stand in a make shift line and wait my turn. Which is not worth the amount is money it costs to be there.

I told the rental representative TWICE that I needed a ramp trailer so I can roll the toolbox into the storage unit. There’s absolutely no way I could even unload it at your facility, because it’s a loading dock! How in the world do I get a 400 pound tool chest up on the dock by myself? !?! Also, the 5 x 10 unit I rented only had a 36 inch door! No way to possibly get the 6 foot long Toolchest in there! When I called back, and told them there’s no way I could get my toolbox off a ramp trailer up onto the dock, the guy started arguing with me. Absolutely ridiculous! I’ve been a truck driver for 20 years, hauled freight for 10 years, I think I know how to move large stuff into a storage unit!!! The only option would be to unload it outside and roll it down the sidewalk, which would have not been manageable by myself. I found a much better unit owned by a different company. I wasted way too much time, will not recommend your storage facility to anyone!

Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

I called to get a quote so I could secure a unit and was told they didn't have any rentals in the size that I wanted but I could get two that equaled the size of the one that I wanted. I asked them to place the unit on hold and was assured that they had and needed no further information from me (because I was renting a U-Haul truck and they had everything they needed). The night before my scheduled move-in, I had a friend show up to do the check-in because I was worried I would be late. They did not have my unit on hold and tried to convince us that I called a different location, but later confirmed I called the right location because I knew the name of the service agent I spoke to. I was able to secure a storage unit in the size I originally requested that they told me was unavailable. Check-in did not go smoothly but we made it through. I was assured that my auto payments were set-up during the check-in process, they were not. I lost my key and reported it, asking if they had found a key. I was not taken seriously. My key was found and my storage unit was broken in to. Valuables were stolen. I would not recommend this location nor would I use them in the future.

When we arrived, it turned out that nothing had been reserved. Re-renting the truck was easily done. However, the storage unit was more hassled - from what I could tell not the fault of the staff other than the previous reservation not being done correctly. We were met at the storage facility by a young man who showed us to the unit we had just been assigned. There was a lock on the unit even though your records showed it as being empty. This nice man did what he could to help but we had to return to the rental site. When we returned the records were checked again and the unit we had just been assigned was indeed supposed to be empty. We were assigned another unit just in case the unit still contained items. The nice lady waiting on us met us at the first unit with the lock on it and tried to get the lock off. When she wasn't successful, she led us to the second unit she assigned us. That one was empty and we then unloaded our boxes into the second unit. Returning the truck was VERY easy and VERY quick. I commend all of the staff for doing what was necessary to correct an error that occurred the previous week and helping us with everything. THANK YOU!!!

Finally got to storage unit location and no map or guide....just figure it out on your own, especially when units 1283 and 1293 are right next to each other but far away from numbers that are closer??? Extremely overpriced and inadequate buildings when after removing all of my personal items from the storage unit, I find nothing but bugs and spiders. When finally going to be done with unit, I called customer service to inquire about my last month's rent payment being prorated, and was told I had to talk to the specific store location and manager. Per this customer service, they messaged/text the store manager twice with my name and phone number and asked him to contact me ASAP, and nothing! I tried calling the store location multiple times on various days and times, and could not ever get a human being to answer or be able to leave a message. Get to move out date, and took pictures and cleaned and sent an email to the store location attention to store manager, confirming my move out and request to have account closed and no future billing requests sent to me. The very next day, I receive an email reminding me of my upcoming payment due, which was over one week away???? I call customer service to get this account forever closed and gone, but they say that the store location/manager has to close it and there is nothing they can do. Sit on hold for over 15 minutes while customer service tries to contact store/manager and NOTHING!!! Finally, days later, I get this emailed request to rate and review my experience with UHaul. Nothing from the store or manager or any acknowledgment that this is the worst service I have ever had from any business, and they are beyond unprofessional, respectful, considerate, or treat their customers with any amount of human decency. Save yourself the frustration and headache...go anywhere but here!!!

I was also moved in a unit that was already rented out and was on hold for 12 minutes to try to fix the issue, which the my call was never answered I had to go back to the main office for them to tell me they didn't have any available storage units for the size I needed, but clearly rented out a unit that I had seen was available and tried to call and get it fixed and was put on hold without even a second for me to respond. I have a 20ft moving truck full of my belongings and no where to store them currently. I SPECIFICALLY reserved a unit because I was moving across country to make sure I had a place to store my belongings. The staff was not helpful one bit nor did they try to fix the problem at all. All I got was excuses and there must have been a glitch and there isn't anything we can do. I will never recommend uhaul storage to anyone.

I got a 10x10 surprisingly did not fit our stuff I had to pack it in there, stuff fell and broke. When I called and complained the guy emailed me back and said I’m sorry and we will give you 20% off 1 month......really?? It took me 5 hours to haul everything instead of an hour, many fights with my husband because I thought he was the I competent one and then we spend another 5 hours moving it out after only a month being there. I would just hope the staff can be better trained to know what it means when you have a 20 ft truck and need a 3 room storage unit not a 10x10. Someone else got my business for the next 2 years. I’m still unhappy because I requested a manager to call and still have never received that call. Terrible customer service and very disappointed. I had higher except actions from a company that specializes in hauling and then storing what you haul.

Rented a 3 bedroom unit that we could pull the truck up to and unload, what we received was a 1 bedroom unit because we were told they don’t have pull up 3 bed room units, that isn’t the case. I saw pull up 3 bedroom units when I was there. How do you work for a place and not know what you have and don’t have? The guy who helped me, in which I waited 30 minutes for someone to help (no one was in the building around lunchtime, thinking everyone took lunch at once) pulled up the reservation for the 3 bedroom, I told him I had a 20 foot truck to unload but proceeded to give me a 1 bedroom unit. It was Inconveniently located in the building and because of the wrong size of the unit and us unloading after hours the quick 45 minute drop turned into 3 hours and stuff broke because we had to shove a 20 foot truck into a 1 bedroom unit . I can’t wait to get back to Sioux Falls and get my stuff out of this storage unit and into a place where common sense isn’t an issue. Will never rent from them and do not recommend using them to anyone.

The check-in process could have been much less problematic, if only store management had responded as requested. I waited 6 days without a phone call, unable to confirm my reservation while every request to contact me was ignored (central Customer Service was unable to see/confirm the reservation & had sent messages EACH DAY for the local store manager to contact me). Thankfully, Dante was able to resolve all issues once I arrived at my destination -- he went above and beyond to correct the problem, and was very friendly and accommodating. I am a longterm U-Haul customer, having moved each year at some points. The treatment I got from the local Sioux Falls store's management is not in line with the reason I always choose U-Haul, so it was a huge relief to have my faith restored by Dante. -- For it is the overall exceptional staff & quality of service that makes me a repeat customer.

lacey b | Overall ExperienceI had to pick up my 4 empty containers from Sioux Falls and drive them to Marshall and that was the hardest part to coordinate, getting two pickups and drivers to go get. They did come pick up the full ones on time and extremely courteous and helpful on any question I had and then at delivery end every UHaul staff I had contact with was very helpful and courteous. All arrived safe without any damage at all!!! I would definitely use this service again and recommend to anybody!!!
