Going to uhaul to rent a truck until now was always a painful and slow experience waiting to talk to an agent or the system constantly failing. with this new app checking in and out was easy fast and i would definitively return.GINO B.
The rental was scheduled for 9 am. Not enough staff on location and all rentals were at 9am. Had to wait for more than an hour to get the keys of the truck and lost an hour of the truck rental. Really disapointed! Truck was not stable, direction issue. IT is risky to rent this truck! In the night the lights were weak and the maintenance icone appears on the board after few miles. If I did not load my stuff I would return back this! No proper control and maintenance were not done on this truck, it is unacceptable and I would never recommend to any body else!Abdourahman H.

After having reserved almost 2 months in advance, someone called me 24 hours prior my rental date to advise it won't be possible for me to have my rental truck since I haven't selected the â€œlocalâ€ rental and wanted to rent from one location and drop it to another in the same city and therefore it wasn't guaranteed to have a truck on the time and date I selected!! You should definitely change your wording in the confirmation e-mail you're sending to clearly state the rental selected is not guaranteedâ€¦instead of a vague sentence telling a customer agent will call 24 hours before the rental date.Pierre-Luc G.

The van was clean and the staff were friendly. However there were a few issues 1. I rented the van for pickup at 7.30 using the app, woke up early on the day and everything. Then there was a notification that I need to wait for the place to open at 9 to do manual pickup. It would be better if the customer would be advised a day or 2 before that they need for the place to open to pick up the vans. 2. At the location there was a long waiting line and I only got the keys at close to 10 am. However, the 4 hour rental period was not updated to take into account this delay.Kisnah R.

Returning the vehicule after hours was VERY difficult ; other trucks were parked in random places, so our truck was very difficult to park. There didn't seem to have any structure for the parking of the trucks. Also, when using the app, it was impossible to upload the required photos so we were not able to use the app for our check out. A l’arrivée, il est écrit no parking partout mais il faut bien prendre le temps de débarquer notre marchandise et aller au locker. De plus, nous avons parlé à un employé qui ne nous a pas vraiment accompagner dès le début, info de base mais comme elle savait que c’était notre première visite, elle aurait dû nous dire que l’on devrait passer au bureau récupérer un cadenas puisqu’une fois arrivée au locker c’était barré, pas de service avec lintercom pour joindre un employé, j’ai dû retourner au bureau à l’entrée, pas d’employé dans le bureau d’entrée, bref vraiment pas efficace et adéquat. This location was used as an alternative to the other location at GoDepo. The advertised â€œ24hâ€ was misleading and that location was not able to deliver on this promise. I could not pick up my truck because the location was closed; couldn't pick up the keys because they were not in the drop-off, and after 1 hour of talking to customer support, I was finally able to get another truck at this location which is quite far away from my moving location (and thus more expensive). I am extremely dissatisfied with your service, and the only redeeming aspect was the customer service representative who was able to find an alternative in such short notice.Alexandre D.

The rented van was unacceptably dirty and repulsive smelling. The entire vehicle stunk of death (literally a dead body or a decaying substance) and had a sticky residue on nearly all the surfaces, including the steering wheel and controls. The smell was so strong that I had to wear a mask the entire time driving and my eyes were stinging. I had to stop at a store to get an air freshener, which sadly did not work. My clothing and the items I was transporting were all infused with this stench. The manager mentioned that this vehicle had been rented to several customers before me and all complained yet it was still rented out. Apparently, a previous customer was carrying grease. Why would they allow this truck to be rented without appropriately cleaning it? I was given a measly $20 as compensation which under the circumstances is unacceptable. Very, very poor experience. The staff are fairly rude to customers. The organization of the drop off and move out is chaotic and un-managed. Granted its busy during peak times of the month there is still a level of customer service required when people are spending a lot of money with your company, even if they aren't. In a time when money is tight for most people and they are spending less, I would imagine that customer retention is high on the priority list for most if not all companies. I will not be renting trucks with U-haul any longer nor storing anything in their facilities.There are many companies that would be happy to have the business. By the way this is my fourth rental this year, one of them being for a cross provincial move. I have been left with a bad taste from my experiences at this point and will be sharing my experiences with friends, family and public.
