I requested on my reservation a dolly But when I picked up truck no dolly so they sent me to I-10 to get one out they didn't have one, so I had to go all the way to Pasadena,texas and that took up a lot of time and miles. So when I turned it in I had overage in milage and was charged for them. I think y'all owe me my milage credit to my credit or send me a refund check. We arrived at the location which had no sign only reason we knew we were there was because of the truck. Made multiple attempts to contact the # listed as did your representatives to no avail. The code which we were given WRONG. After almost an hour and a half we were about to leave when The representative came out and told us that was the wrong code. Uhaul Hempstead GREAT GUY. The location was difficult to find, called and asked for some guidance the day before and employee was uninformative and not helpful at all. In dropping off vehicle no clear area where to park vehicle and drop off location was closed. No clearly labeled drop off box and the only place to insert key to leave to business was not what I would consider secure. I had to try to maneuver table away from opening so that key went accessible to someone passing by. I was leary about leaving key there. I would never drop off at this location againJoAnn G.
The rental location staff did not assist us in picking up or checking out the Uhaul. She claimed we were at the wrong location. Once we showed her we were at the correct location, she then told us that we needed to check in on the app and she could not help us further because they did not train her on how to process Uhaul reservations. We ended up having to call the customer service number. The customer service agent said that we should be able to be helped inside the location but again, we were told to use the Uhaul app. The app wasn't very user friendly and kept stalling. Overall, we ended up finally being able to pick up our truck an hour past our pick up time. Once inside the truck, the vehicle was super dirty (left behind food, tobacco dip, wipes/tissues, etc.) and it was evident that cleaning measures were not taken. This was especially concerning given that COVID 19 is rampant among the country. Overall, this was a very unpleasant Uhaul experience and I will probably consider getting movers the next time I move.Arthur P.

Was overcharged for 2 days! We only had rental for 5 hours and they charged us for 3 days after turning in keys to location which was OPEN! Took them a week to refund us for their mistake!!!! The location was hard to find. We drove around for over an hour to find the truck. The 24/7 app is a waste of time. I spent more time in the phone and sending a dozen pictures to verify who I was. Next time will definitely deal with an actual U-Haul locationKenny A.

They don't have any other equipment there for example a ball joint. The girl at the front desk didn't know how to attach the trailer to the truck and never left her seat to try to figure it out. I had to pull up a you tube video on how to attached the trailer. She also failed to mention that they are closed on Sunday when I asked her if I could drop off the trailer on Sunday.Beatrice V.

The 6x12 van trailer is heavy to hook up on your own. I didn't realize I would have to hook it up by myself. My wife came with me to help lift it off the ball when I returned it. We are retired and will not be doing that again. We could have been hurt.Todd G.

The location we went to was the ONLY one in the whole city of Houston, TX that had the size trailer we were needing. When we hooked up the trailer and connected the lights to the adaptor and the adaptor and other fuses from my vehicle shorted out. We realized that the wires from the trailer had been run over and were all touching. The trailer lights were replaced, but not even an apology was offered for the damages sone to my vehicle. We had to drive without lights on our vehicle and trailer to an auto parts store. I'm extremely disappointed in the customer service we receivedSara R.

The receptionist could not do the return process and I had to wait for James to return and when he did return he became tied up with customers so I had to wait over 30 minutes for help taking the trailer off of my truck and my help came from other customers returning their trailer.Tawana B.

When I ordered online I indicated I would need to be able to leave the truck in Galveston. When we got the truck we were told we would have to return the truck to the pickup location. Had someone called in advance I would have been able to make better arrangements and not be scrambling at the last minute. No one called to confirm like the email said.Mike H.

The guy in the office was less than interested enthusiast about working. The truck was nasty and smelled extremely bad. The display indicated that an oil change was required. It is obvious that the records are not keep because the odometer reading was wrong and he hand wrote it on my paper work and when I got my bill it was not the reading he hand wrote down. it is billed on your website as a truck rental center. In reality, it is a little store front that cannot be seen from the parking lot. We had to call them to find out where they were. I specifically picked an real uhaul place but your website sent me to a hole in the wall joint where the customer service was the worst thing ever. They did not have the equipment I needed which made my move harder than it should have been. I have never been so upset with U-Haul and your Cool Springs location will tell you, I am a regular customer until this incident. If I am not dealt with leadership correctly, I will never use or recommend your service EVER! Pull my file. Pull the tapes and I will tell you, I was extremely upset with U-Haul and some of the folks I spoke to. I locked in on a truck in Pasadena tx and a single pull trailer to pull our daughter's car from your store here in Cool Springs, TN. (Brentwood) 12-16 scheduled to pick this up at the same store in Pasadena. Tx 12-14, I rec'd a call from a lady representing U-Haul. She said our 17' box truck would not be available but she had a 20'. I told her great & this is what I discussed back in TN. If they did not have a 17', we would get the 20' at the same costs. SHE SAID, NO PROBLEM AND THE 20' WOULD BE AVAILALBE. 12-15 A lady by the name of Rita called me. She said, they did not have a 17' or 20' within a 50 mile radius to Houston, I told the lady this was not my problem. I explained to her I had this arrangement out of TN, and we had to be at my daughter's home on Friday, 12-16,to meet the movers for 11:00 a.m. and they are charging us 109.00 an hour. SHE SAID THE BEST SHE COULD DO IS OFFER US A 15' but was not sure if we could get it any cheaper. I told her you do not treat a customer like this. I wanted to speak to an supervisor or someone who could assist us or turn us over to your competition. She switched me to scheduling. This lady was super helpful and locked me in on a 20' box and pull trailer on store in Pasadena. I ASKED HER TO PLEASE VERIFY THIS FOR ME. SHE DID AND SAID THE STORE MANAGER WOULD CALL ME WITHIN THE HOUR. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. The wife and I call this store which is a matter or record. A lady who could hardly speak English answered. I identified myself. I explained to her we were like 15 minutes out and to NOT rent the truck. She said okay. We arrived at this store and they said they did not any trucks. I truly do not believe this lady could spell truck! I called your schedulers again. This time I was extremely upset. I explained to her the whole set of circumstances we have been force to go through & we must have a truck OR Uhaul would be paying for our motel stay for an extra night, and for the 109.00 an hour for our movers for a minimum of two hours. She was nice and found a truck 29 miles away. We had NO choice but to drive there and get this truck. Upon arrival, I was some ticked off to be mistreated this way and miss led by your organization. I met a gentleman by the 1st name James. He read my ledger and could not believe all that we have been through. He was super nice and easy to work with. He had the truck. He said the single dolly for 17 hours would be hard to pull and allowed us to use the full trailer to pull our daughter's car at the same price of the dolly. I rented this truck for a friend - U-Haul Contract 90440874 - Spoke to someone @ U haul on Uvalde yesterday about charges (sent email didn't go through (see below) Per our conversation yesterday, the bill I have with your company was paid in full. However, as I told you there are 2 charges on my credit card (yesterday they were only pending). One has now been charged to my credit card $ 133.54 and 1 is still pending $ 34.04. I need both of these charges removed from my credit card as you were paid cash when the truck was returned. Please advise once these charges have been reversed. Thanks and have a nice day. This location is a tax service business w/ a side cottage of Uhaul. It is tucked away in a srip mall in a xmall 10 ft wide office. There is no visible advertisement from the road. There is a 4 inch X 10 inch sign on the door. This ordeal took over 2 hours for her to effect the transaction. We left w/ no paperwork, no contract, not knowing if we were being charged the original $94 fee of the $163 fee which she came up with but could not finish the administative check out process. She contacted her boss twice during the check out to assist. He subsequently called us back after we departed stating the final billing and forwarded our contract via email. The young lady was ill trained in how to check out a Uhaul customer, English not being her primary language. The order was unable to be filled by the original booking location and I was sent 15 miles from downtown Houston, thru rush hour traffic, to retrieve this trailer. This entire evolution took over 4 hrs to complete after leaving the San Jacinto location, to the Uvalde location, then back to the San Jacinto location to complete the transload from their 5 x 8 trailer ( which was apparently rented to someone else the next day ) to the 5 x 8 Uvlade trailer we had in tow......no kidding. Yes, ridiculous evolution.... In 103 degree heat and staff at both locations who could give a rat's rear end about meeting the needs of the customer. I never provide surveys followup like this because I NEVER EXPECT any renumeration or attempt by the business enterprise to attempt to address my issues. I simply provide this feedback so YOU might get a chuckle from it. YOU CAN'T MAKE UP CRAP LIKE THIS.... I have spared you many details. It was terrible !David W.

Had set an appointment for 5 pm and they did not open the door till, 5:25 pm. The straps for the front tires were wore down and had to be taped to get through the ratchet. One ratchet did not work also. On the way back to the rental location, the tread began coming off a tire. The rental location input the wrong information on the contract and when roadside assistance was needed, they brought out the wrong size tire, because of it. Out of the many rentals from U-haul, this is by far the worst experience.Ephraim P.

I was very disappointed that I was asked a question and was not made aware that my answer would be used against my 24 hours of returning truck which I was purchasing. I gave answer that I was simple guessing but did not know for a fact. I asked for a trailer and an appliance dollie and was attempted to be charged for trailer, appliance dollie, utility dollie, furniture pads, blankets, and my pick up time was moved to noon. When I called U-Hual 1-800 number to get this straightened out I was told I was supposed to call the pick up location. Hello! I ordered a trailer and appliance dollie. So when I show up at 9 am to get my trailer and dollie the office doesn't open until 10 am and they have no appliance dollie and send me to another facility with the trailer and a hand written note. I had a terrible experience from the start. The agent working that morning went out of way to accommodate me & promised me a discount on the mileage. Upon trying to contact the property & leaving multiple phone messages. None of within was returned. I had to drive 30 miles out of the way to get the issue resolved. I spoke to a lady and she told me to call back the next day to speak with the person who helped you. Today 5-6-15. I was charged full price with no discount as promised. I call today and spoke with a lady to resolve but she was extremely rude with terrible customer service skill. This the very last time I I will ever Rent anything from Uhaul.
