Staff was nice and helpful picking up. We returned it 9 pm on a Saturday and their lot was locked up. We had to find street parking to return it. We lucked out and found a spot, but I wish we were able to access the lot for the return!

Van was smelling pee and was discusting

JENNIFER WI have rented U-Haul trucks and vans a lot in my life. This office, not a U-Haul store, didn't represent you well at all. The office was filthy, with groups of men lounging inside the door talking with each other and making it hard to get to the service window. A woman there sat at a computer so far away we had to yell at each other to be heard. Her attitude was shockingly snarky and rude. When after checking numbers on 7 vans they had parked on the street (she didn't even tell me which street) I went back for a little direction. She huffed at me and basically told me that I was an idiot if I couldn't see my van parked "under the blue awning" several blocks away. I finally located a light blue sign and I found the van across the street from it, but there was no awning.
DARLA HI arrived a couple of hours early and they said my van wasn't ready yet but they would call when it was available. 30 minutes later they called like promised. Super nice people and very easy and quick to pick up and drop off. Will definitely use again.
TIMOTHY CI have a serious problem! The truck was not full of gas when I started renting it but I had to return it filled up, so I spent $43.67 on gas, despite only driving it for 7 miles! I need a refund for this.

barnaby sWe booked a reservation weeks ago for Atlantic Ave, showed up and there was no truck for us. They rerouted us to Washington Ave, and said the car was right out from of the business but it was two blocks away. The latch on the door was terrible and stuck so I bruised my hand bc every time you’d open it, it would go flying back from the pressure.
Dana BI signed up to get my truck at 8 am. I got there in 18 degree temperatures only to find that the truck wasn't available for pu and I needed to return when the place opened at 9 am. Why wasn't I notified of this before getting there? The truck seats are crumbling. The passenger side mirror kept moving when we hit a bump, which meant most of the time I couldn't use that mirror, making driving the truck less safe. If I hadn't had someone sitting in the passenger seat, I wouldn't have been able to safely use the truck and do the errands that I had rented it for.

KEVIN RRented a van from this location. Based on prior reviews citing issues with early rentals, booked it starting at 9 am. Staff on site were friendly and helped locate the van within minutes. The van was parked on the street about a block away. The van was a little banged up but had stickers on it clearly indicating areas of prior damage. Inside the truck was clean. Truck drove great. Hardest part was returning the van because you have to find street parking and parallel park it, but the after-hours key return process was fairly straightforward, returned keys to drop box at U-haul location with small note listing address where van was left parked. Overall great experience for NYC rental. Would definitely choose this location again.

Lars NI rented the van at 9am. The counter person was friendly and very helpful, and honestly, got me out of a jam; I had made my reservation for the wrong date. I returned the van that same afternoon. The checkout was superfast.

EDUARDS Rthe self check out was not easy at all, and we only ended up getting the keys because someone else was given the wrong code that happened to have our keys in them. We also had to drive around to find our rental. It would have been helpful if the app told you the street the rental was on. It wasted a lot of our time. The app also checked me in before giving me the key code lock to get the keys.

TYQUAN KWe arrived at 8:30am to get our truck and were not given our truck until 10:30am. Our truck was stuck in a gated truck behind 8 other cars from the mechanic shop next door. They ended up switching our truck. The man running the uhaul side of the business was late to arrive. This was extremely unfortunate.

FABRICE AWorst customer service I've ever seen. I made everything online and need only to pick up the keys, the guy yelled at me several times when I asked for the keys, made wait about 30 minutes expending time on other thing on purpose just to make me wait more because I told him the app showed me a message to just "ask for the keys" Finally he parked the truck outside the told me "keep the f**k for yourself" after I said "just gimme the f**king keys"
DIEGO MNot the location specifically, but honestly I would not recommend U-Haul to a friend. I went to return the van the next day and the location was closed, no problem I understand that. The parking lot was closed and locked though so there was nowhere to put the van, there was no street parking available and open on that street at that time. Because of this I went to another U-Haul location not even a couple miles away and dropped it off. Later I got an email with a $270 added charge for dropping it off at another location. That was not communicated and I was not prepared for that, and I don’t see what my options were other than the other location, considering there was no place to leave the van. I honestly should’ve just kept it for another night and paid the extra $60 I think it is, and I would’ve if I had known about this. Honestly if you can afford it, just go with movers. It would have been cheaper and a much better experience, I will only do that in the future.

Sebastian LU-Haul allows you to book vehicles for this location for before hours pick up via mobile app, but this location is not actually set up to do so. My reservation was confirmed for 7am and I was unable to pick up my vehicle until 9am, so if you are on a tight moving schedule beware! U-Haul service reps were also unable to help me resolve this. Once I got my van, it was all good just the pick-up issues threw me off.
Megan OThe business itself looked a little chaotic and sketchy, but the gentleman running the U-Haul rentals was EXTREMELY eff one and helpful. He explained everything clearly and was very helpful. We were in and out with a truck with no issues under 15 minutes. Turn in was even quicker. He had the truck inspected, parked and submitted the mileage, and we received a final receipt before we could get into our ride home. Gray service and support!!
