The unit that was rented to me had some problems with the ball/tongue connection. Constant movement and noisy especially when stopping and starting. Did not seem secure but did make safely to our destination from Texas to Colorado. Was charged for plug-in adapter I did not agree with. Sales associate was cordial but not too helpful with answering questions.
CLYDE HThe amount of time necessary to obtain the vehicle cost this customer extra money. The same was true when turning the vehicle in. Failing to add the insurance to the contract required rewriting the contract since it could not be added on after the the credit card charges were made --even though the vehicle was on the premises and in sight for inspection. Again costing additional time and expense in a time restricted situation was stressful for this renter. I will not recommend using U-haul in the future.
INGEBORG MI took pictures of a torn fender. I pointed it out to the employee and he said have them call us if there is a problem. I did not like that. I worried. The trailer was clean.

PAUL AUHaul customer support agents are inadequate. Did not properly identify that the equipment needed was available in my town/starting point and tried to direct me (made reservation) 50+ miles away to pickup and also could not properly identify correct zip code for drop off I had to go back to the original reservation and speak with a regional manager to get it sorted out properly, Also, it was never eplained why you show one price online and the real price was about $130 more (yes, I get the minimal fees and taxes and that is not what the issue is). This company used to be a well oiled machine and a good deal for consumers. No longer. Not even close.oh, and STOP WITH THE APP SHIT! Some of us discerning humans don't want to be herded into the data digital prison world - we just want to be able to rent a truck/trailer, etc. Sheesh.
kate aKudos: They had just gotten about a foot of snow with it still snowing. They plowed and shoveled at a crazy pace to get us in and out in safety and comfort.
MICHAEL SThis location was unhelpful. Not only did I have to find the employees no one assisted in the trailer hook ups nor were they present during the entire process.

David TYour policy of giving a customer a truck that only has 1/8 tank of gas to start the rental is a very customer unfriendly approach, especially for a local rental. We had to fill the truck's tank not knowing the gas mileage we would get driving in the mountainous areas between Westcliffe and Canon City Colorado. We returned the vehicle with about $50 of extra gas than when we picked it up. This was in addition to the .79 a mile fee. It would be better to have the vehicle fuel tank full in order to allow the customer to only replace what fuel they have used.
CHERYL BTruck was junk it wouldn't stay running. Steering was all over the road. Second worst experience with U-Haul I've had out of the dozens of times using U-Haul.

Kim RFirst off the actual employees were great. It was fast in and out and they were polite and helpful. However this location is literally UP A MOUNTAIN in the middle of nowhere. We almost turned around halfway up thinking there was no way on earth there was a Uhaul location renting trailers up there. After 1.5 hours we finally made it though 🙌. The personnel were helpful and soon we were on our way with our filthy ice covered trailer. Again I can't really blame the personnel as it was a snow storm the previous day, but the trailer was far from clean. The drive was beautiful, but not when you are trying to get a car hauler and get back down again. Would never recommend as a place to get a trailer , unless you live up that mountain but judging by the town size...you probably dont.

jeannette bI'm not sure who messed up, but I asked for 7 days and the contract was written for 6, but I received a confirmation for 7. When I didn't return the truck after 6 days, even though I called Westcliffe Petro and told them I needed the truck until Tuesday, U-Haul called and accused me of stealing their truck and threatened legal action. I spent about 3 hours trying to straighten it out, instead of unloading. Then, when I returned the truck, Westcliffe Petro called U-Haul abut the changes and they wouldn't back up what I had been told and confirmed by email. The result was, I got charged for 2 extra days, 2days insurance, plus taxes, instead of one day. Overall, I find the dealers very reputable, but U-Haul company as a very poor company to rent from, thus I will not bother to rent from them again and will pass along the word to others.

Danny FWas forced to change plans due to unforeseen circumstances. Change in drop off location resulted in a penalty of over $600. Not specific to this location but U-Haul in general. Here’s what I learned: when a customer gets stuck, U-Haul also sticks it to you. Loyal U-Haul customer for years- why should I continue my loyalty?

Elise HAnd when we returned the trailer, again the return location had the wrong information because the pick up location was unable to complete the transaction due to UHaul web site issues. Fortunately, again, the drop off location was able to clear everything up and take care of it, but caused everyone time and trouble. Extremely frustrating.
