no signage as to where to go for the rental. the attendant sat behind a desk the whole time and only got up to hand me the key the dest was 10 feet away from the counter. not real welcoming. i was charge for pads I never received, $10.00. it took a half hour just to get the van due to issues in the system. Having to use your phone to rent a truck is not appealing to all of us. use paper, it is quicker and you can scan it into your system if you like technology so much. us older people don't use phone like the youth today.

RASHID MRemind customers who come in before close to not park on their lot then their car is trapped overnight and you are promised you will NOT be charged anything extra and THEN still get charged extra money for mileage and inconvenienced to go to work an hour late and then lose even more money

ROBERT BThe associate was friendly. The passenger mirror was loose and kept moving. Is not safe especially if you are alone. This truck could use a deep clean. The gas meter was a little under what the app said. The windshield had a nick in it that I did not notice until I was driving. That could turn into a crack and someone will probably get blamed for it.

DENISE WBe there on time to open the office so the truck can be picked up when it was scheduled to be picked up. Give advanced warning that the truck has a check engine light on and explains the cause and level of risk.
BRIAN SYou're not going to change anything at the Charlotte, NC location. It was clear that the staff was reflecting a U-Haul policy and "in your face" attitude. "No insurance selection?! Well screw you!" Never again U-Haul! I rented 4 Penske trucks for my move, then thought I would give U-Haul a shot. It was, quite simply, a major mistake. No cruise control! Roll down windows!

THOMAS HUnfortunately there is no space on this survey to review the overall U-Haul experience, so I am writing it here. NOTHING from my original reservation remained the same. We reserved a 10' truck to pick up at the U-Haul location in Strongsville. Not only did we have to go to an alternate facility, but the 10' truck was not available. We had to take a 15' truck, which was entirely too big for our needs -- not to mention also cost more in gas. Also, a 15' truck is much harder to drive and costs more in tolls on the Turnpike. We also had booked the reservation to return at a specific location closer to our home, but when we picked up the truck, the wrong drop-off location was on the reservation. When we called our pickup location to tell them we were running late, we had to be transferred to the U-Haul scheduling 800 number. It doesn't make sense that the pickup location wouldn't be able to take care of this. The truck they gave us had a busted front bumper that caught on the wheel when you tried to turn too sharply. We had also reserved a utility dolly, but there were none to be had. We had to settle for an appliance dolly. Overall the experience was not great at all. The only consolation is that there were moving blankets and a box of tape in the truck that we did not ask for.
FRED RThis is a review of the location from which we picked up the truck. Everything was fine. HOWEVER, corporate cancelled the reservation of the van we had reserved and did not notify us. This was reportedly because another customer wanted the van. So, WE ended up with a 10-foot truck. This was a real pain: the van was what we needed for a 1100-mile trip, not some (much heavier and much more gas thirsty) 9000-pound truck for the hills of WV. Corporate should honor reservationns and provide the vehicle that was reserved. We understand that in some cases it is not possible (vehicle is damaged, breaks down, or is returned late by a customer. This was not the case. This was one customer chosen over another. Shame.
PIERRE DFix the square hole in the back of the truck it was very dangerous and made moving stuff harder. Also send a email on how to return the truck it was hard to figure that out

CHRISTOPHER MThe U-Haul app sucks. It is a royal pain to have to navigate through the app to provide a driver's license and confirm damage on the truck. For a better user experience, you should allow the customer to hand a driver's license to the representative for confirmation and YOU make a copy if needed. You should also allow the option to simply walk around the truck and manually indicate on a form that can be scanned and attached to the rental record if there is any damage on the truck. Either that, or overhaul the app to make it much easier to use.

Robert WThe person running the U-Haul center that we rented from was incredibly disrespectful and rude. The first truck we got was unsafe to drive. It had zero steering and we returned it within three minutes of renting it. We first complained about not having any AC and then when we drove it off the lot, it was drivable, the manager did nothing to rectify the situation and was arrogant. We will never run from them again.
Michaelle ZThe personnel was friendly and courteous. I reserved the truck over 2 weeks in advance , yet they didn’t have ANY moving blankets that were also on my order ! Upon using the truck on one of the hottest days of the year … The trucks A/C did not function, and the steering was compromised due to a failing tie rod end. But they made sure to charge me for the 4 extra miles above my guesstimate. Good thing I drove 16 extra miles to rent from this location!!
Craig CReplace the rivets in the plate over the differential so people don't twist their ankles and get their dollies stuck in it. Fix the air conditioning in the truck. Have maintenance done on the steering rack so the truck doesn't wander all over the road.
JASON DReservation was for 9:30. Upon our prompt arrival, no one was working. After numerous phone calls someone arrived an hour later. Multiple other customers waiting with us. Upon drop off again no one was working. Again, people waiting to pick up a truck. Would not recommend and will not be using again.

JOHN PBoth the truck & service was fine. However, I’m not sure if I would recommend U-Haul. I took a picture of the fuel gauge before I left the lot and once again when I returned the truck. I drove the truck 38 miles and I did put in a couple gallons of gas. I received a final bill saying that they put in 3 gallons of gas. I’m supposed to be contacted in 3 days to resolve this issue even though I forwarded the pictures when I questioned the bill. Hopefully, this gets corrected.

georgia rThe staff made the experience an enjoyable one even though there was only one 15 foot truck left in the lot. Luckily we needed the larger vehicle. We were also glad it wasn’t night time, because one of the tail lights on the U-Haul we rented was out, and i was worried people wouldn’t see that we were preparing to stop. So, I drove behind the U-Haul with my own vehicle to make sure it was a little bit safer.
Manji AHad to be transfered to 2 different locations bc the 1st location didn't have the truck we booked online. The 2nd location the lady was rude and wanted to argue bc I asked a question about the extra miles I would be charged being it was further from my destination. I was told neither her or uhaul good do anything about it. After I told her I'd call uhaul she told me she wasn't helping me any further....even though my reservation was with her gas station. So then I was transferred yet again to my 3 store and finally got the truck 1.5 hrs later. Not a way to start off moving day!
