My initial pick up location did not have my truck available. So, I had to drive to this location after hours. My reservation was not set up for truck share. I called the after hours line and Devon answered, checked immediately in via telephone, and was extremely helpful. The truck I paid to rent was only 60 some dollars. I or person at the uhaul place couldn't get it started. I was told I would get a different size truck for the same price. I returned on time but I didn't leave til 30 min after because he had to chahe out the truck. That wasn't on me. Then i for got to replace the gas and was charged over 60 more.WYNOKKIATANISHA A.

Rented a 20' truck and an auto transport from this location, asked the guy at the counter if I could throw him a couple bucks to teach me how to secure my vehicle and he said he would but for $50 dollars, unrealMark S.

This guy was extremely unprofessional. He wasn't there when it was time for my pick up because he said he didn't see my reservation online when I had made it 2 days prior. He finally showed up and did not apologize once for not seeing my reservation. And then he parked his car in the driveway so he told us to back up and go around. And then when I came to stop it off he was also not there and there was another man trying to drop his truck off and he could not get in contact with him so I had to help the man check his equipment back in. Devon was extremely helpful and exceeded customer service expectations. I got lost trying to locate the address and was unable to turn the truck with a car transport around. Devon DROVE TO ME and assisted with safely removing my vehicle as well as maneuvering the uhaul equipment in a very small area. I didn't know the area but I'm so thankful that I selected this location and received the warmest welcome on a rainy stressful day. all heros don't wear capes!shakimya P.
Associate was not on location at scheduled time of pick up. When called, associate became derisive, combative and argumentative when questioned as to why he was not on site (he went to lunch even though he called to confirm we were coming at time of pick up). We rented a trailer for a car; had two people tell us it was not attached to uhaul correctly and could have detached. One was a uhaul employee who noticed it while driving next to us. He took pictures. We also did not receive the equipment ordered. Was given a hand cart as substitution but did not receive furniture pads. The vehicle itself lurched and seemed to struggle during initial use. After an extended drive, this seemed to go away.Sonya D.

Reservation was at 9 and it was closed when I got there and the manager didn't show up until 9:30 while i waited outside. Caused me to depart late for my trip. Did not have padded blankets that I reserved and was rude when I asked about it. The place was very dirty and uninviting. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely the worst experience thus far with a uhaul rep. Was never given a contract; told I was â€œgoodâ€ and didn't need one. The contract that I did receive via email was simply an equipment contract. Was charged for extra miles and missing equipment when all equipment was returned in complete and working order. Rep didn't check the truck in and I was called on 10/31/2020 at 1226pm asking where uhaul was. I dropped off the uhaul at 726pm on 10/30/2020. Was forwarded a close out charge contract? On 11/2 stating I'm being billed for another $236.00. Looked further into contract and saw that the vehicle was checked in this morning after 8am. After this experience I would not recommend a uhaul from that particular location. I have never had an issue using uhaul until NOW! Utterly disappointed with my experience.TALYAO'DELL C.

Vehicle was not swept out, windshield was filthy on the inside, rag left in hand grip bar to get into the back of the truck. Parking was haphazard in the lot making it difficult to drive the truck off the lot. I was not asked about my driver license. Clerk was courteous but I couldn't call him ethusiatic.Dan Jr V.

The gentleman managing the location was excellent. Communication was good and timely and the equipment was in good shape. Though the location was on the smaller side, they had everything we needed and took proper precautions for COVID-19. Thank you!Fritz K.
my contract required that I return my rental by 11 am on a Monday morning. The place where I rented it posted hours of 9am to 5pm Mo-Sat. I returned it to them Monday morning at 9:55 and was charged a $20 after hours return fee. Never again...Michael B.
Mobile pick up could not work because staff had keys in facility and did not have the furniture pads in the truck ready to go. Staff did call in advance and arranged to meet me at my preferred pick-up time. At least 5 pads were Very wet and unusable when I went to wrap items. Back driver's tires on vehicle seemed low - prompting a stop at the 14861 Warwick Blvd UHaul facility in Newport News. Crystal was very helpful in advising us to contact roadside assist, and arranging for us to have an extra day added to our rental contract. Vehicle was ultimately fine and we had no further concerns.Beth T.

- The truck had warning signals on the dashboard, like a low tire warning and another light that popped up (the second light was covered by a sticker, so I could not see what the warning was for, just that it was lit up). - When I told the people working there about it, they said it did not matter and everything was ok, and then gave me the truck anyways.Indermohan M.
Whatever you do, do NOT use this dealer. Aside from appearances, I was rushed out of the parking lot with the truck without being able to take pictures to confirm. They ended up charging me for $190 worth of miles I did not drive and they didn't include furniture pads. I was quoted one amount online which they billed before pick-up and given the run-around when the amount I was finally left with still included $66 of extra charges. The lot is tight and hard to drive a large vehicle out of and it looks very run-down. The vehicle clearly had not been cleaned and sanitized for the next customer which was quite negligent especially during COVID. Save your time and visit another location.Rainard G.

The rental process was very efficient. The estimated charges were close to the actual ( I drove farther than I expected) but the owner took the time to explain the itemized charges to my satisfaction. Upon returning the truck it was no where to turn around a 26 ft truck and auto transport due to having a car lot. The guy never asked my name or rental reservation but more intuned to his phone. Unprofessional with the check in the next day so I called the help desk to check the truck in. He called the day after to ask if i checked the truck in and where did I put the key as if there isn't a big Uhaul key box at his door. Business was not open on time and delayed my pick up time by an hour. Furniture pads that were reserved were not available. I had to spend time finding another u haul location for pads. The movers I arranged through whatever third party site you are affiliated with never showed up. Due to all of these circumstances caused by UHaul I was late in getting the vehicle back. Now I need to jump through hoops to get back the extra $50 I was charged.Keith L.

This was a horrible experience I went in to update my U-Haul reservation by removing a dolly and it changed the entire location and when I arrived at the new location I got a phone number from the previous location telling me that if I don't pick up a truck there will be a cancellation fee I did not want to cancel the truck because I needed it then once I arrived I thought I was going to be paying 29.95 for my truck but it ended up coming up to seventy dollars and the day after I received an additional $14 fee for what I do not know what it is after I refill the fuel tank on the UHaul truck to higher than where it was originallyTimothy T.
The enclosed trailer I rented had a homeless person living in it! The location was filthy. The only employee was on the phone trying to reinstate their state license to sell autos. I hooked up, swept out and left. No one assisted. I also prepaid for 12 moving blankets. I got zero.Michael H.
To start,the owner of this location kept me waiting about 25 min calling other u hauls to help him reverse a charge on a dolly..# u have a customer waiting.my main issue.the owner charged me 25.00 for a clean up fee..the truck was filthy.his lot is a dirt lot..not a paved lot,dirt&rocks!!.I came From FedEx,20 yrs.the 1st thing u learn is to "inspect" your vehicle.only thing transported was a couch and x large trash bags that contained clothes,shoes,towels& dishes..there was a side walk from the front door to the truck..it should have been a red flag when u have a u haul dealer combined with a used car lot..I did a complaint to dispute the 25.00 chg.how can u charge a 25.00 clean up fee.when u issue filthy trucks that's parked on a lot made of dirt.??#review your receipt carefully!!!Leardis L.
I picked up my truck at the time I scheduled. I did the online pick up, however I still had about 4 reps call me to ask if I was still picking up the truck. No one even knew I had the truck even tho I did everything online which was suppose to be easier. But I had to keep stopping packing to answer my phone from Uhaul asking me if I was going to pick up the truck. One guy even needed me to give him the truck number because he couldn't find it in his system. The truck ran so bad. I had to drive it across a bridge and through a tunnel. I was so scared to drive it back because it seem to struggle so bad. I don't even want to bring it back across the water. But I had no choice. Turning signal is about to go out. I requested dollys and furniture pads, when I picked up my truck it didn't have these things in there. A gentleman called me about my reservation and I informed him that I was missing those items. He said he would fix it when he got to the office. When he went to run my card, it did not go through and he called me to get it straightened out. But good thing it didn't go through the first time because he was still trying to charge me for the items that were not there, that we previously spoke about over the phone. He had such a bad attitude. No matter the situation of why the card didn't go through, there was no need for him to catch an attitude and be so judgmental about why it didn't go through the first time. He had no idea what I went through this morning trying to get to the truck as well as to my place to pack up. When doing the online return of the truck, I filled the gas to exactly where it was when I got it and I still got charged for fuel. The drop off place at night is so sketchy. The entire area is pretty dark. And I'm glad I had someone with me because anything could happen over there and no one would even know. In Newport News at that.Latasha T.

This was the worst rental experience I have ever encountered. The representative didn't even walk me outside or check when I brought the rental back and now I'm being charged twice as much. I have file a dispute and none of the representatives have been able to provide any proper or professional assistance. I am also told the truck was not checked in at the time I brought it back so it is their word against mind as far as the additional mileage usage. I WILL NOT AGAIN USE UHUAL!! Straight rip off!!
