URSULA JOn 16 May I rented a 10' truck for Monday 19 May to move a motorcycle. I was very clear about the date. The Clerk rented the truck for 26 May by mistake, by pressing the wrong Monday on the calendar. I received no email notification, presumably because the clerk also misspelled my email address. When I discovered no 10' truck was ready or available on 19 May at 7 AM as promised, I rented a truck via the UHAUL website from a nearby UHAUL in Elkton, VA, 25 miles away. When I arrived to pick up the truck at 9 AM, I discovered the facility was closed for the rest of the week without giving any notification. I drove 25 miles back to the Z Auto office and they offered to rent me a 15' truck for the same price as the 10' truck. When I arrived in Charlotte, NC 5 hours later (300 miles), I discovered the loading ramp on the UHAUL truck was damaged and could not be extended. This made the motorcycle pickup impossible. It took me and the motorcycle owner over an hour to pry up the damaged floor enough with makeshift tools to get the ramp to extend. Without the help of the MC owner, I would have been forced to drive the truck 300 miles back empty. When I got home at 2AM, I again had to pry up the damaged floor alone with a crowbar and winch to extend the ramp and unload the motorcycle. I was unable to get the ramp to retract, and drove the truck back with 6' of ramp extending out the back. The clerk at the Z Auto site was grossly incompetent. They got the date wrong and rented me a damaged and unusable truck. The Elkton site rented me a truck on a date their facility was closed. This is my most awful experience with a company ever. The only thing that prevented disaster was I was forced to relentlessly work around Uhaul employee's incompetence and mistakes, drive 50 miles unnecessarily to a Uhaul office closed without giving notice. I feel that I am entitled to a refund for this fiasco.

JOHN LIt says an open sign but no was there had to call the number displayed on building, and had to wait for the owner to show up. Plus I was charged 38 dollars instead of 19 dollars don't know why ?

jennifer bOn the gas gauge, truck didn't have but 1/4 tank of gas in it. It was parked on an incline, thus misrepresenting the amount of gas in the tank. I ended up being charged for 2 gallons of gas that I shouldn't have. I took a photo of it, but guess that doesn't matter.

Michael SFirst problem was this location is 17 miles outside my town and I was informed by email after picking up my trailer that I could not drop off my trailer at either of the 2 locations in my town. Having too many trailers at a store should be U-Haul's problem not mine. I arrived at the location at noon, posted open hours were 9-12:30 and 1:30-5, but no one was there. My first 2 calls to the posted phone number I got recorded messages only. 3rd call was answered and I was told "the man must have left early". No offer for someone to come and check me in. I was told to park the trailer and just leave it, they would check it in when they went to the store. Check-in receipt finally came the next day.

JAMES WThe female representative was very helpful (I had stopped in to purchase boxes from her before as well), however, when I came to get the truck she did not let me know that I needed to check-out the vehicle via the app or that I could tell her that a sticker needed to be placed on any un-stickered damages before I left. Luckily for me I purchased the full insurance so if there were any unmarked scratches, they'd be covered as I did not damage anything while I had the truck. However, that could be improved to get Excellent.
Eileen FThe representative was very helpful in informing me to check out the vehicle on the app. The app wouldn't worked to show me the check-in, but he told me to look around and if no stickers marked to come get him. I did and he happily came out to mark any problems. He was very nice and helpful.

John DWhile the trailer had slight damage from previous renters, it did not affect the use or capability of the trailer. It is obvious some people should not tow trailers. I wish there was a way to tighten the latch moving it closer to the ball. I used a 2" ball and when the trailer was empty you could hear the trailer jumping up and down on the ball (I could also replicate that sound by picking up the trailer tongue up and down). The older style couplers would twist allowing the latch to tighten by moving closer to the ball thus preventing the movement of the trailer tongue. The couplers I have on my open trailers have a way to close the gap to prevent the up and down movement. The gentleman that helped me with the trailer rental is very knowledgeable and helpful. That is difficult to find these days. Kudos to this guy!
MARION RNo improvement necessary. Staff was friendly, courteous, professional and even the mileage guess was right on the money. The ride was comfortable. And impressive! So very glad I chose this place two rent from. A blessing all around.

Kimberli SGood location due to being only two miles from our house. Equipment was fine, but office was closed 30 minutes before its advertised closing time, which inconvenienced me by causing me to spend extra time checking the vehicle in via my smart phone.
