The location is within a truck repair shop. The representative was kind, but the location didn't represent the UHAUL brand well. They also did not have the equipment I pre-ordered. This likely was not their fault as the 'navigators' re-routed me to this location at the last minute. I talked to customer service several times to ensure they would have all of the pieces I ordered and the location did not. What is more annoying is that I was told to pick up the other blankets not supplied by this location, at a different location, so I had to drive the truck to another location to pick up blankets that they wouldn't just 'give me' to fulfil my order. I had to cancel the first equipment order and re-start the equipment reservation with the original location. The Belmont Ave location also didn't have any locks, straps, etc. for customers to purchase to make the move successful and safe. A note about the truck: I don't think this is the fault of the Belmont location, but the check engine light came on as soon as we got onto the highway with the truck loaded. The truck was only 1/2 loaded because we estimated a larger move than was actually accomplished. We called customer service and waited for 15 minutes and never got an answer. When we stopped for fuel the first time, there was a significant issue with the fuel tank that the pump never turned off and we lost about 5 gallons of gas on the ground at the station. We called customer service again, and after a significant wait, they answered and we were told to ensure that the pump was all the way in (which it was the first time). We kept a closer eye, and it happened again. We lost another 2-3 gallons of fuel on the ground of this station. After that, we were not able to fill the tank without fear of creating further fuel loss. We also turned the truck in early and didn't get offered anything for the over 24 hours we didn't use the truck. The truck was clean and it got the job done, but the experience was not great.
Aaron EAccessing the property was a little inconvenient and safety was questionable. Call boxes, gates, hot wire fences. Definitely made you feel like you had to watch yourself for safety. Location was not ideal. I will not suggest location to a friend or family as it does not feel to be a safe area in general.
