After a couple of minor hiccups when checking in, the rest of the experience was good. I especially like utilizing the app for check out, much simpler than other times I have rented a unit.

Very disappointing experience with U-Haul. I reserved a 26-foot truck over a month in advance and the pickup turned into a complete mess. The original pickup location was in a really sketchy building. I went up to the floor where the U-Haul office was supposed to be, and there was nobody in the office. After figuring out that I needed to do a mobile check-in, I found the key box on the side of the building, only to find that there was no key inside for my truck. I called U-Haul and they gave me the codes for all of the lock boxes on the side of the building. I checked every one of them, and none of them had the key to the 26-foot truck I had reserved. U-Haul then sent me to another pickup location, which was out of a sketchy Motel 8. When I walked up to the front desk, they didn't even have my reservation. It took multiple phone calls and a lot of back and forth before they finally got the reservation switched over and I could actually get the truck. This completely screwed up my moving plans. I had people scheduled to meet me and help load the truck, and because of all the problems with U-Haul, everything was pushed back and caused a huge amount of unnecessary stress and inconvenience and extra costs. The U-Haul representative I spoke with assured me that someone would reach out to me to resolve the issue. I still haven't heard from anyone. I do not expect this kind of experience from a large company like U-Haul. Having a reservation made over a month in advance and still not having a truck or even the correct pickup information available is completely unacceptable. I am still waiting for a call.....
Jeffrey TI was told I needed to connect the trailer myself, they didn't do a safety check to check brake lights or turn signals. The trailer leaked. I had to drive in rain and when I arrived at my destination the corner of my mattress was soaking wet.
William FI was charged the "Safe Move Plus" insurance without being given the opportunity to decline this and had to request the refund from corporate.
paul wThe man at the counter did not know what he was doung, he messed up our reservation. We were originally to pick up elsewhere and it was transfered to them due to availability. We were a one way reservation. He made it a there and back to his local. Caused huge issue when we returned it to Elkhart. It was very frustrating.
