Not happy with my experience at all. I reserved a 26' truck in August, a month before my move, to be picked up in Toms River on Saturday September 12th. My son was flying up from Florida on the 11th to drive the truck. He was a long distance mover & has a Class A CDL. The day before our move you text me that the biggest truck you had was a 20' & you hoped that was okay...it was NOT! I had a 25' valance board to move. Being 80yrs old & already stressed over this big move, you just added to my stress level. So I called, was put on hold & after quite a while, I was transferred to a lady in Philly. I explained everything to her, she was very sympathetic & really helpful. She found a 26' truck in Newark, where my son was flying into. He had to cancel his rental car & get a ride from the airport to the truck, in a not-so-great location. It would have been alot easier & cheaper to pick the truck up in Toms River as planned...where he booked a motel & where the storage unit I was moving was located. That's why we went to the Rt37 Uhaul in Toms River. He drove the truck from Newark to Toms River & was very leery of the trans after turning the 1st corner. It was not good in the 1st 3 gears, was slipping until he got into 3rd gear. The brakes didn't want to stop the empty truck, so it would be much worse when the truck was full.Thankfully he had the experience & was a good driver. But we were supposed to pick up a trailer in Orange, NJ on Sunday & drop it off in Fort Myers. He said we'd never make it with the truck you gave us & if we broke down on route, it would be our worst nightmare. So, I lost the $1150 we would have gotten if you had given us a safer, reliable truck in good condition. That money would have helped me with this trip. As it was, we held our breath worrying over the trans & brakes the whole trip. Luckily we left on a Sunday, so less traffic & we could stay in the right lane & maintain distance from vehicles in front of us in case of sudden stops. So quite a stressful trip. I have to do 1 more trip from NJ to Fort Myers to bring my piano & a few more boxes. I am not sure I can trust Uhaul. 1. Reserve a 26' truck a month prior & get the surprise of a 20' the day before...WHY bother reserving? 2. Truck not in top condition to travel from NJ ti Fort Myers 3. Losing the $1150 4. Extra milage & gas having to pick the truck up in Newark & drive it to Toms River...instead of the planned pick up right in Toms River Not such a great experience for us

Hezam NYou can’t drop off a trailer after hours. Also, the U-Haul owner never arrived in the morning. After another employee opened the gate I called the owner and was instructed to park the trailer inside the gated lot. I asked the owner to close out my receipt. Later that day a U-Haul representative called me and asked when I was going to return the trailer. I explained that I had. The next day after not received a closeout email called U-Haul to check the status of my account. I was informed the owner had not closed out my account. The U-Haul representative called the owner and he said his son would close it out. Later that afternoon I received the closeout receipt. Totally unprofessional
George GThis drop off location was in a sketchy neighborhood with no real parking lot to leave the truck in. We were approached by homeless people and in general felt unsafe.
