I had a unit at this location it was “supposed” to be climate controlled but upon return i had to thrown away COUNTLESS family items and documents due to mold growth completely unacceptable and extremely dissatisfied.

Jennifer H | Overall ExperienceWe needed a climate-controlled unit for storing all of our belongings before moving out of the country for a few months. Everywhere in town was either out of units or really expensive, but then we called Bayou Storage Downtown and they had a unit free the same day for a great price. The location is safe, well lit, and secure, so we had no concerns about leaving our belongings there. Customer service was always friendly, and now the on-site office is manned by Victor who has been super helpful as we are moving out, even letting us park our portable storage container on-site for a few days so we could load it up. All in all, five stars!
Daniel L | Overall ExperienceThere is a strong odor of sewer gas near my former unit. The gate breaks and has gone weeks without being fixed leaving the entire property unsecured. The office is not open the hours that it states on UHAUL’s hours of operation. I’m told I don’t get any prorated rent back after my move out. This is inconsistent with what I had been told back in July. I feel like I should have received a refund of the prorated rent like I was told. Former management much more helpful and service oriented.

When I tried to call to complain I’d never get a call back. Cats were living in my storage unit. There was vomit on my furniture. Horrible experience!

Holly D | Overall ExperienceThere should be a scale to rate instead of yes or no answers. My experience was good for the first 2 years. In my opinion, there were security issues a time or two but nothing for anyone other than me to meditate on I thought although I did comment or question that time or two. 5 months post Hurricane Delta, 1 of my 2 units (along with a few others' units) was burglarized and items stolen. I closed both units and asked if I would be prorated. No because I was offered a replacement unit for the burglarized unit and I had insurance. The 2nd unit was not burglarized. I honestly don't know if I was offered a replacement unit for the 2nd. I am sure that the monthly fee for the 2nd unit was not prorated. If I missed any offers in between handling the police report, scrambling to replace my stolen goods and moving my items off-site, my bad. The office staff was always professional. The facility was well lit. The cleanliness was good for a storage facility. There was never an issue with rodents or insects. Had it not been for the burglaries and thefts, I would probably still be there.
