Elizabeth G | First ImpressionsI am very disappointed in this last experience with UHaul. I am a frequent user of UHaul. In Las Vegas, where we rented a 15' truck to move furniture from my in-laws' elder care apartment after their death, the rental agency did not have the truck I had reserved, with a ramp. They were apologetic and very gracious with us about the inconvenience of having to lift heavy furniture up to the tailgate. Then, I took up the UHaul offer for one month free storage at the Mesa location. I messed up, in that I thought we had been to Nevada on Feb 10th, and I had rented the storage unit (free months' rental) on the 11th. I got a courtesy text on March 11th that I was past due on rent. I am grateful for the text! I texted back that I would be in the next day to clear out the unit, as planned. I had expected to at most pay for 1-2 days of storage unit rental, as I had utilized it for one month and 2.5 days. The manager was unyielding - I owed a whole months' rent. I also thought, since I gave my credit care info when I moved in, that it would be automatically presented to my credit card (and I would get a refund, since I was moving out). I realize that I did not move out on the first day of the new month. I realize that UHaul can charge me for the complete month of use, though I did not use the unit. However, I am very disappointed that the manager chose to press the issue and charge the full month, given my good faith efforts to have the unit cleared - missing the cutoff by a couple of days. I would like to continue to have a good relationship with UHaul, and certainly hope you, as a company, stay profitable and in business. But I also would like to have a more courteous relationship with each UHaul store and storage facility I interact with.
