This location was very busy and understaffed. I waited in line for a long time. When I finally reached the counter, I was told that I had a reservation, but they had no available units. They then found me a unit. This process alone took at least 30 minutes. It took about an hour from the time I arrived, to getting the paperwork for my unit. The unit they offered me was down a long hallway, upstairs, around a corner, then up another few steps. I told them that I have a bad knee, I was there with just my 14 year old son, and that I did not think I could physically move my stuff into that unit. I asked if there was any way I could get an outside unit with easier access. I was told that they are bigger and don't come with the first month rent free. I explained that I had no money left, and couldn't afford the first month, but I could pay the higher cost next month. I was tired and had driven 4 hours to get there by 9a.m. Ultimately, I had to call the Uhaul 1-800 number and find another location with better access. During that call, I was told that the location could waive the first month fee for the bigger unit at their discretion. It was disappointing to know that they could have helped in that way, but chose not to. The staff was friendly, but the overall service was a horrible experience. I'm a single mother and had no family to help. I'm trying to move and it is very stressful. The added stress of being told that there were no units available, to getting one that was inaccessible in my condition and situation, to having to find another location, was almost unbearable.
