This was the worst U-Haul experience we have ever had. The location was poorly maintained, with overgrown grass, and the pickup instructions were unclear. When we arrived, the store had an “Open” sign displayed and the lights were on, so we opened the door to see if someone was inside. No one was there, and an alarm was triggered, resulting in the police being called. The phone number provided in our email did not work. We eventually called the number posted on a torn cardboard sign, and the rental manager answered and said he would be right over. Once he arrived, he spoke with the police, and we were eventually able to get the U-Haul. Unfortunately, the rental manager barely inspected the equipment before we left. He did not check the rear lights or turn signals. During our drive, we also discovered that one of the trailer’s wheels appeared to be out of balance. The trailer bounced and shook throughout the entire drive, which resulted in damage to our belongings inside. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience. The pickup process was chaotic, the equipment was not properly inspected, and the condition of the trailer caused additional problems and damage. We expected much better from U-Haul
