This was not my original pickup location. I was told the day before pickup that my location in Fairmont, MN, didn't even carry this type of truck, and the closest available would be a 2-hour round trip. Very frustrating and very inconvenient, why can I book out of Fairmont, where I live, if they don't even carry it? Now, instead of an 8-minute trip and maybe 5 miles, it was at least a 2-hour trip and over 120 miles, plus extra gas money/mileage we did not intend or plan for. As an apology, I was offered extra miles, an extra day, or $50 off my total bill. $50 wasnt even going to cover the gas to get the U-Haul and get back home, but I did take the extra day to pick it up earlier, as I couldn't just add a 2-hour trip into my original plan, and of course, the miles, as otherwise I would not have been able to make it home with the miles first allowed. When we finally did get the U-Haul, it had 20 miles of gas left, which is also very frustrating, as the contract requires us to leave it at least 1/4 of a tank, which 20 miles is nowhere near, thus causing us to have to spend more on gas than expected/needed.

David HBetter check in procedure, I did not know what to do with padlock on the cargo door as it would not fit in the key return. Key was returned and locked the padlock on the cargo door when done.

Carol CWell the door was locked when we got there. It was during business hours. I returned the equipment the same night instead of waiting until the next morning. Put it where we were supposed to. I was charged an extra day.
