The location personnel weren't appropriately trained and did not know how to process my one-way rental transaction. I reserved the vehicle through the U-Haul app (a month in advance) designating a one-way rental from Appleton, Wisconsin with a return to the River Road U-haul in Minneapolis. The Appleton location informed me the reserved truck could not be rented to me since it was for local rentals only and I should simply try to find a different rental. I then went to the Grand True Value Rental of Appleton seeking a truck to move my college student to Minneapolis and the fantastic young man there helped me fix the problem. He voluntarily drove to the Cheese Hut location and persuaded and showed the store clerk and the store manager how to process the transaction. I overheard the conversation and gleaned this: The 10' truck rental was marked in the system as available for the one-way rental because it was due for a PM. The Cheese Hut manager did not want to rent the truck because a previous time no truck came back for several months and he couldn't make any money. Therefore, he didn't want to rent the truck to me. This would have turned out very badly if not for the wonderful young man from Grand Rental. I also rented a 10' van for some local work in early August and had a very difficult time with the software app and the location clerk (not Cheese Hut). It seems to me that U-Haul's network of agents is poorly trained and the software app is difficult to use, in my experience.

very professional fast smooth transaction i will rent again
Dahren SWe rented our U haul well in advance to be picked up at the most convenient location possible for a move from WI to MN. When we went to pick up our U haul the computer system was down so we needed to process final arrangements over the phone. As we were handed the keys to leave we were told the 26 ft. U haul only had a 1/2 tank of gas. Really!!! We picked it up at a U haul location already connected to a gas station. This truck should have had a full tank of gas in it already! So very disappointing and frustrating! When we dropped off the U haul in MN at our designated drop off location and on time we were told there would be an extra charge for gas, cleaning, and late fee. We had to advocate for ourselves to get this fee waived! Overall, a very disappointing and frustrating U haul experience!
KATHY FFloor mats were dirty when I received the rental and was charged a cleaning fee when I returned it in the same condition I received it. The clerk marked the fuel as less than what I returned it with and charged a refueling fee. Scammers. I will not rent from this location again.
Graham YUnfortunately we would not pick this location again. The owners were very rude and reluctant to help us. They did not include the dolly in the truck. When we called to ask about it, they questioned whether we ordered one and didn’t want to believe us at first even though it was in our order confirmation. They also added the 15$ damage coverage without our knowledge. This was also not in our final order confirmation, which we have a screenshot of. They added it upon pick up. We went back for the dolly and they thankfully gave it to us. When we returned the equipment, they said they would remove the 15$ charge, but it is still in our receipt. We also took a photo of the final mileage and truck to show we swept it and when we tried to show them the photos to confirm everything, the owner was very dismissive and said “I don’t care about that.” We will be calling them again today about refunding the charge.
