Our original booking was at the official UHaul location in London as reviews for satellite pick up locations were less than favourable. I was contacted 2 days ahead to see if we would be interested in towing a trailer behind our rental truck from London to Kingston. I declined it as we were not interested in the additional stress of towing another trailer behind our truck. The next day I received another phone call telling me that the location I had selected did not have a truck available for us and we would need to pick one up at a satellite location. When I explained that I had reserved the truck more than a month ago and the day before I had received the call about the trailer and now suddenly a truck wasn’t available for me anymore. I agreed to the satellite location so long as the truck we received would be trustworthy and in good repair. I was assured that that would be the case. When we arrived at the satellite location, there wasn’t anyone there who knew anything about the reservations as we were just about 30 minutes early for pick up. When that person arrived, they did not take us out to the rental truck. They took our credit card payment, handed the keys to us and sent us on our way. Upon starting the truck, we noticed a low tire pressure warning on the dash. Stopped at another gas station down the road to attempt to inflate the tire and it would not go above 55psi and was recommended to be at 80. We called the UHaul customer service # and they dispatched a local tire repair company to come out to inspect it. It turned out to be a nail in the tire and needed to be removed, plugged and reinstalled. We picked up the truck at 3:30pm and were not able to use it until 6pm. The truck did not have heat. Ended up having to use blankets to wrap around us for our 4.5hr trip from London to Kingston. Overall, we were able to successfully move our daughter home from university, but not without several hurdles.

a good experience
Tim OWhen we brought the truck back, we filled it to just under a quarter tank which was the starting amount and then we were told we still had to put in another $15. We weren't refunded the full deposit because apparently we went over the mileage by 75 km, which we weren't told when we dropped off the truck. The person we dropped off the truck to took forever to complete the drop off process. Very poor service overall and I never experienced this using U-Haul before and I have used them many times. I will be going with a different company next time.

DEREK A100km travelled and it was 44 litres of fuel to fill it ? Obviously I replaced the fuel used by previous rental , just sayin , I hauled very little weight, Does 2 km per litre of fuel seem right to you ?
