Gas tank was reported as having more than what the vehicle actually had... so it cost me $8 extra just to bring it up to that level. The rental was not properly configured for "electronic" pickup. When the store set it for the correct type of pickup it somehow changed the rental period... The back of the truck was dirty and required significant cleaning... and even then I couldn't get all the muck out of the back of the truck... The truck cabin was filled with white dog hair... I did my best to wipe it up... still everywhere... Upon the return, the normal Uhaul return box was open and didn't work... had to shove the key through the door slot... though it wasn't marked that was where I should put it... felt unsafe and confusing. And the truck had a constant warning that the oil needed to be replaced... This is the second time I've rented a truck from this location and had issues with the quality of the rental. Deeply disappointed...

Neighborhood rental location so more limited inventory. Staff was helpful. Equipment was clean and operated as expected.

Oil change light is on. I was reassured that it was not a problem, but they need to fix the light then.

Had to call to get fuel rechecked due to fuel charge. Mistake was corrected. Thanks

Had picked a location in Gearhart, OR. It was extremely inconvenient to go 20 miles to p/u the truck which was not available when i reserved it then to find truck wasn't the and had to go back two hours later to actually p/u the truck

The employee did a good job.

When your reservation is confirmed in your town, only to find you have to drive 60 miles to pick it up and THEN you can't even return it in your town. So you drive another 65 miles to return it! NOT happy! Also it had a very terrible odor, akin to steer manure! Never again from that location.

Get rid of the strong cat smell that was in the van I rented.

The only issue we had here was we called in advance to verify drop off and were told they are open on memorial day weekend,"it is one of the busiest weekends of the year." We got here they weren't open. We didn't need to return for a few days so not a big deal but still not ideal.

Charge the customer what was agreed upon. I was promised accommodations of a free additional trailer rental, that did not happen and effectively added an additional $50 to my overall rental fee. great location great people but management is why I will never use uhaul again. price doesn't bother me but promises to a customer are meant to be kept.

The fact that this says Astoria just makes my point. Had reserved storage drop off in McMinnville. At no point was Astoria even mentioned. McMinnville was the original arranged drop off/storage location. Got there and was told they did not do the 1 month free storage despite that location being the one I was referred to over the phone. Was then told that I would have to drive 45 miles out of my way for a free storage and truck drop off in Sherwood but to call in morning to ensure they had the size storage I needed. Upon calling them I was informed that they also do not do the 1-month free storage. At this point, had had truck 2 extra days for no additional charge (per customer service). Was informed that Portland was the closest 1 month free capable facility. Informed them that I had already driven all over the world and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. Ultimately, we unloaded the truck onto a tarp in the mud in the yard. Was then informed that they could no longer speak to me because the DRIVER was the contract contact of record and she would need to call. She did call. She was told that I would be refunded $50 for my trouble, to drop the truck off in SHERIDAN OR no later than 1 p.m. and that I would not be charged extra miles etc. When I got to Sheridan at 12:45 I was informed that I could not leave the truck there and needed to take it to McMinnville. I told them that I was not driving the truck anywhere else. Poor guy had to call his supervisor. I heard mention of being charged an extra day at that point. Considering that the last phone call with them had allegedly resolved all these issues because of their screw ups, I was extremely frustrated. Ultimately I was informed I could leave the truck there but....I would not be getting the $50 refund I was promised. It turns out that the 30 minutes the driver had spent on the phone with them was a huge waste of her time as well as they couldn't find "any record of that conversation in their system". I will NEVER use UHaul again. The fiasco with UHaul added 2 days onto what should have been a smooth and easy move 222 miles. I can't even describe the stress it caused and my possessions (which should have been in a safe dry storage) are on a tarp in the muddy yard.

I was irritated because the truck I reserved was not what I got. I reserved a 15 ft truck, but they sent it to another location the day before, so I had to take a bigger truck. Since I don't like driving the trucks, I wasn't happy because I felt the truck was too big for me. Plus, I probably spent more on gas than I otherwise would have.

Need more employees to process long lines of people waiting to pick up equipment. Too much wasted time waiting to an available employee to check out equipment.

The rats made havoc of the plastic ceiling causing it to fall loosing the fiberglass insulation it held up. Looks like it was full of the was everywhere. Rats caused damage when they tried to eat everything, some of which are shoes, books, plastics, clothes, sheets and blankets, ect. The ceiling is a real bad plan. Insurance is for accidents, not for bad planning, or poor design. Someone else should be paying for this...right?

Erin was Absolutely Amazing! She is very knowledgeable and always in such a great mood! She deserves a raise! I’d recommend her to anyone!

Wasn't aware that the 10' truck didn't have a loading ramp. I rented an appliance dolly and couldn't even use it. Should have been told that there wasn't a ramp.

They called like I knew I was dropping it there (3rd drop off location i had been told) and wanted to make sure I was on time cause they already had reserved it at my drop off time. So why the huge charge to me for one way drop off???,

I was in Astoria and my car broke down. I found a mechanic and the replacement part, so I just needed to drive a ways to pick up the part and get it to the car. I called every auto rental/transportation place in the local phone book and literally every single one had some issue/roadblock/computer problem or excuse as to why they couldn't help me find a ride. After several seriously frustrating hours on the phone, I called this U-haul location and finally found the most helpful, awesome, hard working employee- Erin Greenhill. Erin went far above and beyond expectation and was the single most helpful person to me in my ordeal. She was prompt, attentive and listened to my needs. She was kind, understanding and made me feel at ease in such a stressful situation. She always answered my calls and called me back several times to get a plan in place. She did not let computer glitches stop us from doing business, which is the way it should be. She explained any important info and gave me honest answers to my questions. If she ran into a problem she got on the phone right away to get help. I am so incredibly grateful for Erin's work that day! I rented the in-town cargo van and it drove like a champ. It was a nice ride and felt very safe with a back-up camera and ultra bright lights. I could not have been more pleased with my rental experience. I would highly reccommend the Astoria U-haul, and I credit employee Erin Greenhill for her excellent customer service. Thank you Erin! Thanks U-haul!
