John RVery rude. When we tried to pull in to park the truck, the guy who runs the place came out upset saying you’re not allowed to self-park, and he has a sign in the side of the road directing uUhaul returns. What he pointed at was a very small sign that says “U-Haul return” with an arrow. We explained we hadn’t seen the sign but still doesn’t tell us not to park it. He said we were supposed to pull into the front, and he’d park it because he doesn’t want anyone damaging his side walk or the other trucks as people have done in the past. He demanded he park it himself. My boyfriend got out and let him do so. As I waited, he said we could go, and he would close it out returned. I explained I did a mobile pick-up and drop off and needed to take photos, which is also why we were going to park it. Then suddenly the started saying someone had been smoking in it, he could see ashes, and there’s no smoking signs. We explained we don’t smoke. He started telling me I don’t need to take pictures and I should get an email confirmation that he closed it as returned. I advised I wanted to follow the instructions for mobile drop off. He walked off and went inside while I was taking photos on my phone. I called customer service to be sure they showed it as returned. The representative said it still showed in dispatch. I asked what to do, since he had the keys and said he’d closed it. She advised she could only add a note so they I wouldn’t get charged anything additional if it still showed in dispatch Monday. She recommended that I call the location on Monday when they open to let them know what happened. I advised her that the location was open during our call, and he runs it. She explained the only thing she can do was notate the account. But then, he came back out and asked if I still hadn’t received the email confirmation, and I advised I had not. I took photos and left. This guy is not people friendly and clearly doesn’t care about the self-service option/mobile pick-up. The whole point in it is so not to have to deal with people like him.
Alexis SThe truck was very clean inside and out, you could not ask for nicer people to do business with. They were very helpful and made us feel important and made sure we just the right size truck that we needed to move our furniture.
