Customer Reviews

Ouch! Nice people but...I had forgotten the mercenary costs of renting a UHaul truck. Truck rental fee $29.95 a day; mileage .99 a mile; insurance if you want it $14.00. And you better make sure to top the gas off because they will charge you $3.75 a gallon (clearly stated in the contract) but they do it by where the fuel needle resides. Example, the needle on the fuel gauge said 3/4s on my rental. UHaul says that is a use of 7.4 miles a gallon. So they charged me 7.4 x $3.75 a gallon for $27.75. But my total mileage was only 37.4 miles. That's three and three quarters miles per gallon. They claimed the truck only gets about 8 miles a a gallon. So, they can only conclude I must have driven the car in tow mode...I turned off tow mode...or that I left the care idling while it sat...I also did not do that. Bottom line is buyer beware. There are multiple opportunities to gouge you if you aren't on your A game. (1) be thoroughly familiar with the trucks condition before you leave the lot (2) Know where the fuel gauge was to start (3) know exactly where the fuel gauge was when you returned (4) turn off the tow mode (5) know you may only get 8 miles to a gallon (6) make sure you top off the gas before bringing the truck back. My total bill for 3 1/2 hours and 37.4 miles was $115.69. These trucks get the job done but they are costly, poor performers and the customer will pay for that. I will use them again because I am better prepared now. But I couldn't recommend them to friends.

Charged me a $26 fee for cleaning truck. The truck was cleaner when I dropped it off than when I picked it up. I also left them with more fuel than they gave me. Can I charge them for that?

This Uhaul location is excellent. Their staff are courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The equipment is clean, current, and mechanically sound. I've used them several times and will use them again if the need arises.

Employee checked brake lights on trailer as I pressed the brakes when I picked up trailer, told me all was working; but after I stopped first time for gas discovered right brake light was in deed not working. This was not good, especially as we drove thru a blizzard in Tenn.

Left rear tires had only 25 psi air. Had to pump them up before traveling.

I was not given the furniture pads that I ordered and paid for. When I opened the truck later that evening, they were not there, and by then this place was closed, so we had to get by without them.

Van was very clean and front desk was very helpful.

The credit card machine was not working and the process had to be redone in second machine to create the contract papers. Once done, the truck did not have the snow removal equipment for which I had to come back and ask

The self checkout on the phone took longer than just going inside and doing it in person.

Convenient. Good service made it easy to check in and drive away.

After asking and being assured my cargo would fit in a 15' truck vs a trailer, I found that when I began loading my cargo it would not fit. I asked for charges to be reduced down to what a trailer would cost since that is what i requested when picking up equip, but Uhaul refused. I will continue fighting through Uhaul, Visa and social media.

The van was very uncomfortable to drive, it would be better if the crew explained how to adjust the seat and the steering wheel (it may be that neither is adjustable though).

Customer service was terrible. Kept gettting interrupted. Spoke over. Lady was very rude. Billing didn’t makes sense she just kept arguing instead of letting me as question. I will never rent from u-haul again if this is the type of person you employ.
