I hated to say "NO" to the clean and well maintained question but the fact is, the ratchet part of the ratchet strap system REALLY needs cleaning and lubricating. They are rusted and barely move. Unlatching them was almost impossible so I could unload my car. Basically I fought with it until it was loose enough to pull the retaining straps off the side of the tires instead of them coming completely loose and coming off the back of the tires.
