I had to wait on the phone for 30 minutes outside in 90 degree temperature waiting to speak with a U-Haul representative to clear up an unexplained “E” alert that hindered my rental. Not once did the young woman with purple hair in the office offer me a seat inside snd out of the heat. I’m a 60 year old Navy veteran and explained to the young woman that I had bicycled to this location to obtain my rental truck that I had reserved. Once I was helped by the U-Haul representative on the phone and after that 30 minute hold, the “E” alert was cleared and I was able to proceed with the rental. At this time the young woman had walked off somewhere and didn’t return for another 10 minutes before she showed up and finally finished my rental agreement. She didn’t hand me a truck key at this time. I didn’t ask for it either. I assumed the key was in the vehicle since she did not hand one to me. I walked a hundred yards to the vehicle to find it all locked up. I went back to the office and asked for the key which I was given with a cutesy “I’m Sorry” from her. She seemed to be a very new employee with little knowledge of how to do her job. She also lacked customer courtesy in my opinion. I have rented from U-Haul many times over the last 30 years and this was the worst experience I have ever had.
