Customer Reviews

Uhaul should have a more accurate way of assessing fuel use than reading the needle on the gauge. The incompetent employee at the desk misread the amount of fuel upon return of the van and tried to charge me $12 for 7km of driving. Even with convenience fee, I feel this is highly unreasonable. I would consider all other alternatives before renting a uhaul again.

I rented the uhaul for 0830 on a Sunday morning and was met at the location by Robert. Although he had some difficulty with the computer and at times was frustrating, overall he was very pleasant and helpful. He did advise me that if I over-filled the truck with fuel uhaul usually reimburses the customer. Unfortunately when I went to drop off the truck, this was not the case.

Took three hours to pick up. Nothing ready and looked after customers who came in after me. Good guy but needs help.

The employee was very confusing, difficult to understand, and complained about the business to us for an hour wasting our time the day of our move. He was very disorganized and the shop was a filthy chaotic mess of boxes and papers everywhere. I felt very uncomfortable dealing with him.

Super helpful! Thank you.

the fact that you changed my drop off location from Campbell River with one truck in the yard to Courtenay with a crowded yard with no parking and cost me an extra $25.00 in fuel for your truck plus the fact that someone had to drive the 52 km and back to get to the drop off location of your choice and no compensation for me and a rude person at the Campbell River location all means I will really have to think it over before I consider using U-Haul again

Rep at this location was disorganized and easily distracted. What should have taken 20 minutes took 1 hour!

We waited at this location for almost 4 hours to pick up our uhaul. There was only one employee working and a lineup of maybe 10 people. The individual who was working should not have been working as he did not seem capable. He did not know how to work his own system when it came to taking our payment. I had to get on the phone to uhaul head office and they told me how to walk the employee thru his own system. It was an absolute joke. This employee would go outside in the middle of helping a customer to go and clean up a truck. He would have to go to a seperate lot that was farther away to go pick up a truck for customers he would answer phone calls, all while there was a huge line up of people waiting to either pick up or drop off their uhaul. After all that I wasn't able to get the size truck I needed and he had to give me a much larger truck, which resulted in me having to pay double the fee to bring it over on the ferry. We also had to miss our scheduled ferry because our truck was oversized so had to wait yet another 4 hours in the night to get o the next ferry. An absolute horrible experience and I will never ever pick up from this location ever again. Oh and also he charged me a deposit which I haven't received yet because when I dropped the truck off at the port moody location they couldn't see in their system a deposit was even collected so I've been over charged $100 and now need to speak to someone from head office.

Worst experience I’ve ever had will never recommend this place to anybody. I will encourage friends and family to use your competter instead.

The worker tried to the best of his ability unfortunately that didn't result in much. I scheduled 2hrs for pickup even though I completed everything online. The time was closer to 3 hrs before I was out of there. I had to help other customers physically man handle trailers to get them out of there so the next person inline could served.

I had to wait 2 hours to check out the rental. Nothing was given in compensation for my time, and my missed appointments during the moving period. Unacceptable!

My reservation to pick up the 20ft truck was for 1000am . I was fourth in line when I arrived at 0955 hrs. I did not leave the location until just before noon.. The truck I was given had obviously been dropped off the night before because prior to giving me the keys the employee checked the oil level and then started to wipe down the interior of the cab. The windows and mirrors were covered in dirt which I later cleaned. In short the whole operation at this location is appalling. I could go on but wont at this time . I someone from your company wishes to call me to follow-up or ask more questions I would be fine with that.

He couldn't even read the screen and took over 2 hours to deal with me becouse of taken so long to deal with another customer he couldn't under stand or figure out how his system even worked

Robert was very friendly and helpful. The vehicle was clean and the drop off was efficient. I thought it was good value for the money.

He needs a helper

Equipment was very good. When I first tried to get information over the phone I was told that he would call me back twice but I never got the call. I went the next day in person and booked the rental. So all in all due to poor comunication it cost me an extra trip to the location.

We had a reservation. The trailer that we rented in advance was not prepared and not accessible. The Rental agent had a bunch of issues navigating the rental portion of the contract on the computer. I showed up at 4:56pm for a 5pm rental which he had been given 24 hours notice for and said that was okay. He asked why I came early.. I haven’t used this location in 9 years for similar reasons, however the only trailer available was at his location. His name is Robert and I will not be doing business with this location again. I enjoy uhauls competitive prices and great equipment, however if another location doesn’t have what I need I will be finding another company for what it is I am looking for. Robert is friendly enough, but between the lack of ability and The rat we saw in the shop I will not be returning

Have a place to pull in and park the trailer U Haul needs a bigger more accessable lot at this location

The gentleman running this location is great but his setup is terrible, I try to avoid this location at all costs if I can. I was very happy to have found the online return for my latest rental, otherwise I would have had to wait hours at that location. There was at least 7-8 people waiting for more than an hour already. It is well known that you need at least 45-60 minutes to pick up or return items at this location, even if you’ve done all the pre-rental online forms.

Have someone in on Saturday that ca operate a til. He did not know how to take cash and a credit card payment. When I arrived I was told that I owed another $93.00. Why did I open an account to pay in advance so I didn’t have to wait nd fill out papers. I do not understand why the bill I was told to pay online was not the full amount. Why would I pay online and then stand in line a ways and pay more. Was told there would be a truck in my town no 3 days before moving. I was now told I need to go to another town which takes 8 hours by ferry. There is no road and never mind the added expense to being 2 26 ft trucks on. Was told haul would pay for the ferry by the guy at the first location. Butt uhaul says no. I would not have used uhaul if I was aware of all the added expense and was lied to. Not a great experience

Train someone who can multitask better, use the computer faster or hire more people at this location so that customers are not waiting an hour+ to get a rental or return a rental.
