The manager is atrocious he was yelling at me that he works to much and stated that he might aswell put a gun to his head !!!! he does not have a grasp on this business the store looks like he is hoarding, things piled up everywhere you can’t look at ANY of the merchandise because it’s all buried he can’t see he an inch from the screen while wearing glasses he does not know how to use a computer at all I had to turn his Tablet and find his camera so he can do his job and take a pic of my hitch ....... you need to get someone down to see this place or something it is falling apart i waited 3 hours to get a trailer there was only one other customer I don’t know what else to say it’s terrible

Staff had no idea how to work the computer system, and could not figure out how to get it to work. Consistently imputed something then lost it repeatedly. Had no idea how to take a picture using the tablet. Tried to give me a trailer that was not checked in or so I was told by head iffice.. Took 1 1/2 hrs to get the trailer and only reason I got it was by talking to head office and having them do it. I did all the check in on line and was hoping for a quick check in and out, didn't happen. Store was a pig sty. Would recommend to my friends or anyone else to go anyplace else.

10AM reservation. All the counter person had to do was process the reservation and hand me the keys. He had no idea how to use the software. Did not get the truck until 1140AM. Missed my appointment and ended up costing me more money. The person behind the counter is not trained! Couldn't provide a printed copy of contract because the printer is broken. Could not fix the price matching to cargo van rate of 19.95 and instead offered to give me $10 back when I returned the truck.. The kilometric rate of 0.49/km that I was initially given changed to 0.59 because he cancelled my reservation. then it changed to 0.99/km when he finally figured out (by me talking to a uhaul rep that he called) and doing his job for him on the computer. I was not told this and I only noticed when I returned the truck, that the price has changed. Also when I was trying to figure out what to do he yelled at me that I shouldn't have come to his location...I was not the one who chose his location; Uhaul told me to pick up the truck at this location since it's the only place open on Saturday. The mobile pickup feature does not work in the area but when I went to his location I still had to take pictures of my license and again he has no clue how to do this so I had to use my phone on his computer to get it done. At the end of the day I paid about $50 more than my reservation estimate and was 1.5hrs late to my appointment which cost me about another $100. So this experience has cost me about $200 than anticipated. Will not be recommending this location and frankly completely disappointed in the lack of support from uhaul during the approximately 5 times I spoke with them on the phone today. It was clear that the phone reps were equally frustrated and apologized but this is simply not enough. I would only be satisfied if I got a complete refund of my costs and 2+hrs of time wasted at this location. PS: I also witnessed how inept he was at dealing with the other customers coming to this location. Nobody left satisfied, and definitely not in a reasonable amount of time. PSS: I am also extremely concerned about my driver's license details and credit card details at this location. Absolutely no sense of security about my private information at this location. He just has a tablet that he takes pictures of DL/credit cards with, which ends up staying on the device for anyone to access. I will be following up regarding this concern as well.

The truck was not ready to go when we arrived at our 10 am pre-booked pick up time. The employee had A LOT of trouble using the computer to check us out. We wanted to add a 2nd driver and the employee could not figure out how to add the drivers info so he just said it didn't matter. I did not feel good about that since I didn't think the insurance would cover him if his info was not on file. However I had little choice as I didn't want to wait around forever and the employee didn't even have a way to take a photo of his license which was needed to put into the computer. It took us about 25 minutes to get on our way when it should have only taken 5. On the plus side the employee was pretty easy going regarding doing the truck damage inspection. He didn't give it a look at all, either before or after we dropped it off. Also we drove 16 miles and he didn't charge us anything for gas!! I kinda think that was due to him not being able to figure out what would be the right amount to charge us. Overall f you are not in a hurry to check out, dont get easily frustrated and don't care to do things by the book then this place is ok. The guy was nice but is definitely in the wrong line of work!

Where do I start. Robert is so inefficient it’s comical. This guy deserves a Darwin Award. Stupidest dude on the planet. Gives uhaul a bad name. I’ll never rent there again. And I’ll tell others about him as well.

The gentlemen behind the counter was the only person there. at least 3 people waiting. Grandma was trying to clean up and was not help. The place was a mess and should be cleaned up. Grateful that you have a location in Courtney.

Booked a 20 ft truck paid deposit and when I got there none available Thank god I didn’t have far to move as I Could us a 15 ft truck which worked Just more trips

This is an old-fashion shop, and I love it for that reason! However, you need to have a sense of humour when doing business here, as you could have a very long wait! I'm not criticising, merely commenting.

This is the worst experience ever that I have ever had with a rental!! It took over 1.5 hours to rent on the initial day with a pre arranged online. Then when I went back the next day to pick up more blankets he had not even showed up for work. I waited another hour before leaving and buying blankets and renting a dolly from Home Depot. This is UNACCEPTABLE and compensation should be given!!

Obtaining my 20' moving van from the McPhee Ave. UHaul location was a shitshow. No one was there for my 10am pick-up and didn't arrive till closer to 11am. At least a dozen people were waiting outside for someone to show up. A desperate phone call to UHaul's central office sent me on a wild goose chase to a different location which apparently was open ...I had friends and family on hold waiting to help me move so NEEDED any truck asap. My car was already down in Victoria so I was on my bike. I must have ridden for nearly an hour trying to find this new UHaul location. Ultimately, I got a text saying I could pick up a van back at the McPhee location and they were open ... by now it was 11:45. I arrived shortly after noon. The gentleman in charge was stumbling his way through helping a couple find a trailer to tow behind their truck. Between his extremely poor computer skills and then losing the keys to a van which needed to be moved to access this trailer, all only added to the wait time. The customer wound up dragging the trailer by himself and hooked it up to his truck in order to get on his way. By now, it was well past 1:30pm and I was only just now getting served. He had the audacity to CHARGE me for a $7 furniture dolly!! The condition of the rental establishment can only be described as that of a hoarder..... unspeakably messy, unorganized, piles of dusty old products and mountains of shipping blankets with only one narrow path leading from the front door to the service counter. UHaul would do well to inspect this facility and how their product is being promoted.

Horrible customer service. Robert did not know how to use his computer/U-Haul platform and was asking me. I was in March 5th at 9:30 am to inquire about a 20 foot truck to be picked up by 4:30pm that day. He said no problem and we could rent it when we came in. I called around noon and talked to Robert to ask for a larger 26' truck instead. He said he would have to change the order but we can do that when I came in at after 4pm. I showed up just after 4pm and there were other people that had been waiting well over an hour for service before me. I waited about 1 1/2 hours before he served me. He couldn't figure out how to rent the truck. He kept asking me how to use the computer to do basic things like open a new tab. We were supposed to pick up the truck that evening and load it. We had a crew of 3 guys waiting for it. I was there until well after 6pm before I just gave up and said forget it, I'll be back in the morning. He said he would be open at 10am the next day. I sent the guys home. I went online and registered to rent one online for 10am the next morning. It took me all of 10 minutes to do it online. I have no idea why he couldn't figure it out. We showed up at 10:15am and he was still closed. After waiting around I called U-haul support from my cell to complain that he wasn't there. Again we had guys waiting to load the truck since we couldn't the night before. Robert finally showed up and was ranting about the complaint that he wasn't there. Going off about how he is there every day and he has his own problems. As a customer, I dont care about his personal issues. I just want to rent a damn truck. It took well over an hour to get it finally rented. He insisted on sweeping out the truck, cleaning it before it went out. We told him we were already late, we would clean it out, there was people waiting. His reply was simply "Well they can wait." I'm sorry but this guy needs to get out of the business. I'm sure U-Haul is a great company but he is running this location into the ground. Did I mention the building is absolutely filthy??? It was freeing cold, no heat at all. Mountains of garbage behind the desk and outside. You cant navigate the store at all. There is to much stuff all over the place. He rented us the truck and put done 1/4 tank of gas. When we jumped in it was just under 1/4 tank. We were so fed up by that time I didn't bother to correct him. dropped it off with the same amount of gas but the accepting location charged me another $47 for gas??? WTF They wouldn't even let me put more gas in it or take it to the gas station. I know the gas level was the same as when we left.

I arrived at 10am as per my reservation. I did not receive any help until 11:30 and did not leave with the truck until 12:24pm. This was completely unacceptable. The uhaul rental location was a complete mess. Walked in the building and there was no heat on in here and garbage and equipment everywhere. When I finally did get help it took him well over 45 minutes just to get the truck out. It was dirty and full of mould inside of the cab. I did email someone at uhaul but they weren’t able to help me and told me to call in direct which I had no time for. I use uhaul quite a bit for rental trucks but this experience has made me think twice about that. I was still charged full price for this terrible experience.

I paid just over 600 dollars to take the uhaul across to Powell river. It was less then a 50 km trip all together. You can rent a uhaul for 39 dollars a Day, I am truly disgusted that this is how you guys do business. On top of that, I waited over two hours for my truck at uhaul, even with a reservation.

As much as the operator of this location is friendly and chatty, he is scatterbrained and lacks computer skills to quickly process a rental unit. The lot was full of snow and we as clients had to help dig out our rental truck so we could get it out of the lot. On our drop off we observed another rental truck getting stuck in the snow.
