Extremely disappointing experience. I rented a U-Haul truck for a planned move, only to discover that the vehicle had no oil and was unsafe to operate. Because of this, I was unable to complete my move as scheduled and lost an entire day of work and planning. I attempted to contact the representative for assistance, but received no response. The lack of communication only added to the frustration of an already difficult situation. A rental vehicle should be properly inspected and maintained before being provided to a customer, and in this case that basic expectation was not met. While I understand that unexpected mechanical issues can happen, the combination of an unusable vehicle and the inability to get timely assistance resulted in a very poor customer experience. I believe a full refund is justified given that I was unable to use the truck for its intended purpose through no fault of my own. I hope U-Haul takes steps to improve vehicle inspections and customer support so others do not experience the same issue.
