Bruce SI had a very frustrating experience with my recent U-Haul rental. I reserved a 6x12 trailer for a 7:00 AM pickup on June 1st and received confirmation with a specific location. However, I got a last-minute call informing me that the pickup location doesn’t open until 9:00 AM — two hours later than scheduled. When I arrived at the confirmed address, I was told the trailer wasn’t there at all but was instead located at a completely different site on the north side of Edmonton about 35 minutes in the opposite direction. After driving all the way there, I found out the additional equipment I reserved (a dolly) was not available either. I was told I could try another location to see if they had one, which added even more time and hassle. In the end, what should have been a straightforward pickup turned into a 6-hour delay. Because of this, I missed my service elevator booking and wasn’t able to use the trailer for everything I needed. This was a very poor experience from start to finish, with disorganized logistics, miscommunication, and missing equipment. I hope U-Haul can improve coordination and customer communication moving forward.
