Information regarding roadside assistance: what to do to avoid extra charges, and a checklist for the lights, air conditioning vents, or key turned on too long. Also, the driver’s side door kept bleeping even when the key was out of the ignition.

I got my equipment late after reserving it a month and a half in advance. Then I didn't get the trailer I had reserved. It was a total failure on Uhaul's part. Very frustrating experience!

Rating:

Slight wait because several customers were there at 7am to pick up, but very impressed by the help from Les who got us all set up.

$1.19 per mile is too costly to rent. People will look for alternate options if U Haul continues to charge per mile. There needs to be some upper limit.

When I returned my equipment they seemed short staffed, but other than that were helpful, courteous, and the truck was in excellent condition and drove well.

2 points regarding the truck rental cost (this is direct at Corporate, not the local office): 1) If I am a day late, I have to pay $40 each day. If I am a day early, I should get $40 discount/rebate. This is fair, right? (You have the opportunity to rent the truck out again for the day that would have been mine, therefore earning your company revenue. But should you be able to keep my rent and get a second rent for the exact same day? Double dip? Is that fair (nope)? 2) There should be a easy way for either the origination office or the drop-off office to amend an open contract (while the truck is still out of the yard). Specifically, to credit/rebate customers for use of their certificate after the moment of signing the contract, but prior to returning the vehicle.

I would recommend Freemont, but originally I was scheduled to pick up the truck in Sunnyvale. I got a confirmation text that all was good so when I showed up at 9 am the truck was not there and they didn't have one for me. The guy who had the truck didn't return it. It ended up being my problem. They did locate a truck for me in Fremont, they did their best. I get it it wasn't their fault. So overall I had a good experience one we worked it out.

Everything good with this location but the one on Thornton called me 30min before my moving that your 26 ft truck is not available. That was horrible, I made reservation 3weeks prior and even call 2days before to confirm. Now I have to make 3trips to Tracy from fremont because U-Haul drop the ball on my reservation. Customer service was also very RUDE!!! Grimmer location the gentleman was very helpful. Need better training in the Thornton location in Fremont so don’t mess up other customers moving. Now I have to pay for movers to come because I work 6days a week and I still have 2 loads left. Just A horrible experience over the weekend.

The location and people at the location did a good job. I had a very bad experiance with the appointment dept. over the phone, bad comunication from the beging. I was told to pick up the trailer in one location by the first person, only to get a phone call 7 hours later to tell me I had to go to a location many miles further from my home. Also was given wrong info about the trailer.I will not be usihg U-Haul again

The return Clark was NOT good, The check guy hand written the starting mile on the form because these is a 1 mile difference between actual reading. I mentioned to the check out guy and he say no problem. But when I got my invoice, he did not make the correction. NOT good. Everything else was good.

The return lane was backed up all the way to the street. I was renting a trailer so this made the return awkward and I was forced to make a U-turn in the street to go back to the main entrance and drop the trailer where I picked it up. Not sure how to remedy this but maybe a return lane just for trailers?

understaffed. very long wait even though i had reserved it for a specific time. because of this i was late to my appointment. was not happy about that. the gentlemen that helped me was obviously in a bad mood, most likely from having to wait on multiple customers all by himself, but nonetheless he still should have greeted each with a smile and at least pretended to enjoy his job. the trailer did work out perfectly for what i needed it for though so i am happy about that.
