Our initial trailer was blocked in with snow at Holland. The person at the store said he couldn’t help, locked the store and left. We switched that rental to a truck that was in the driveway. When we got the key, the truck it went to was indeed not the truck that was unplowed. We had to go through the whole booking process again (third time) to pick up a truck at a different location where there was a truck we could actually access. That would be this spot at the Hamden filling station. The employee was extremely helpful and had a shovel for us to use to clean out around the truck. It took another hour to complete the reservation, as the first truck was not cancelled properly making the reservation a total mess. Using the app was an absolute pain as we were in a no service zone. Really unhappy with all I went through for 6 hours only to use a truck for 2 hours. Just to add the cherry on top, the original truck payment that I paid (and was not able to pick up because it was buried), is still charged to my card. I was told three times that charge was removed, and low and behold, it’s still on my card. I called again at drop off and the last lady I spoke to said they never removed it (the three people I spoke to prior) and that it needed to be sent to another department. Absolutely horrible experience with U-Haul and I’ll never be renting from or referring this company again.

Gabriel BThe truck had a brake light out and the road service department gave the towing company the wrong address for the location of the truck which had not even left the lot at the time. I spent 2 and a half hours waiting for the repair to be done after I signed the truck out. The people at the Hamden Filling station were excellent but the Uhaul representative was the worst.
