First time renting through U-Haul, and unfortunately it will be my last at this Hercules location. I used the self-checkout service and ran into multiple issues, including trouble uploading photos in the app. It ended up taking me over an hour just to complete the checkout process, which was incredibly frustrating. When I went to the front desk for assistance, both employees (male and female) were completely unhelpful. I was basically told that since I completed the process online, there was nothing they could do. I stood there waiting, and neither of them made any effort to assist, offer alternatives, or even ask follow-up questions to understand the problem. The lack of customer service and basic willingness to help was extremely disappointing. Customer support shouldn’t stop just because someone uses an online service. If anything, there should be more support available when issues come up. This experience felt dismissive and frustrating, and I won’t be returning to this location.

Andrew BThis location’s fees are not affordable. For a local move it cost me almost $300 to have the $29.99 /day truck for 48 hours. They charge over a dollar per mile in addition to the other charges. The truck is a gas guzzler, not to mention the transmission is slipping. I’d rather go to the 23rd street location any day.
