SEAN HI was uncomfortable using the van because the brakes made a loud scraping noise. So, I returned it the next day and rescheduled my move. This was a major inconvenience.
MICHAEL PI found a flat tire when we went to load the truck for our return trip. I called the emergency number and we had a guy on location in about 30 minutes. The guy was very friendly and put on a brand new stickered tire. We were back on the road in about 45 minutes. We were very happy with the way things turned out.
Lane GI reserved a rental van from the Uhaul right next to my house. The day before I verified with the gas station that I had a reservation and the van was available at 7AM. He said they did not open until 9AM and that was the earliest I could pick it up. Later that day I drove by and saw the van was no longer there so I went in and asked about my reservation. He said the van would not be back until the next day about 3:45PM. I said I had a guaranteed reservation and I reserved it a week ago. He claimed it was a technology issue because it was no longer available, I reminded him that I had a guaranteed reservation. Called the Uhaul toll number at 8PM and she was able to reserve a van about 5 miles away (not great but I could live with it. I drove their that night to make sure there was a van in the lot and there was but this place did not open until 10AM. I was there at 10AM the next morning and waited for the place to open and at 10:20AM no one was there and it didn't look like anyone was going to show up. There were 3 vans on the lot but remote pick up was not available because of the late night change of location. I called the number again and they had me go to a new place that was a 30-minute drive away (adding miles and time to my schedule). I drove there and was able to rent the van at 11AM but now was way behind my plan schedule. Moving my reservation twice, that was guaranteed caused me not to complete my planned move and had me returning the van at midnight and then I still had to drive 30 minutes to get home. This is the second time I have made a reservation with Uhaul and the truck was not available. Very frustrating. I did get a $50 refund for the one changed reservation but no nothing for the second change in location and the additional miles on the Uhaul and my vehicle when I could have walked to and from the original location.
