empower employee's to handle problems.. the past two times I've rented equipment from this location and had a problem.. always told to talk to manager, who isn't available the majority of times I need to speak to him. perhaps the manager should NOT list his non working cell number on a business card. as well as return calls if he is the only one allowed to make decisions. Stop arguing with customers and listen.. shouldn't take 20 to 30 minutes to get you to shut up, listen and understand the problem before taking another 30 minutes to tell me I have to come back to see a manager. Employees should not interject in a discussion that does not involve them nor buck up like your going to hit me when I tell you to stop interjecting into my conversation. if employee had done their job when I rented the truck.. Wouldn't have had a problem. (clean truck with full tank of fuel and taken time to go over paperwork) if employee had done their job when i left the truck with a note that it was 3/4 full on pick up/return not full and had called before JUST CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD.. We wouldn't have had a problem. (also showed on my receipt and pick up walk thru as 3/4 tank) If the person at Uhail had taken time to listen to me when I called to straighten out the problem or at least got someone to return a call in a reasonable time.. we wouldn't have had a problem. (btw.. local store blamed national customer svc) If the employees at the store would have listened to me instead repeating themselves it wouldn't have taken 20 to 30 minutes to get them to understand I rented a truck on 3/4 tank fuel I returned truck with 3/4 tank fuel BUT WAS CHARGE TO FILL THE TANK FULL ON MY CREDIT CARD.. that's theft. That's a problem that should NOT have to wait on the manager to decide to come in or call in. Was i angry.. you betcha.... I had to drive to the store and argue with employees (at one point feeling threatened by 2nd employee) after calling to the store didn't help.. I lost 90 minutes of my day to get back my own money they shouldn't have taken in the first place. So Dear Uhaul, if you expect as customer to return a truck on full.. it must be on full when you rent it to me...or.. you should at least look t your own paperwork to see that it was marked 3/4 tank. dear uhaul, You have paperwork from the trucks previous rental customer showing it wasn't returned FULL.. and IF you had filled the trucks tank.. You would have had a receipt showing it for you record keeping and billing statements. dear Uhaul, if your employees act like they are going to get violent on a customer who is angry that uhaul stole their money by over charging them.. you should expect fall out. Dear Uhaul, customer service needs improvement.

The tire pressure was low. We went to the desk to tell the guy and he just said "oh well all the vans have that light on" and refused to even checked the tires for air. Not to mention we stood in line for 20 minutes while two people were at the desk, but only one was actually working. Then we were there another 40 minutes trying to call the general manager, whose phone number on the card is not even his phone number anymore. Finally another guy came in from his lunch break (yes, we were there is whole lunch break!), with no fuss said he would checked the tire pressure and low and behold, the tires needed air! The young man working the desk should be fired as he just assumed we were complaining because "they just want a free van." Awful service and I will never return to this location.

Ensure the tank is full when one full. I drove only 13 miles but had to add 4 gallons of gas to fill the tank up

The 26 foot U-Haul that we rented had a hole in the passengers top corner. I asked for another 24 or 26 foot truck and none were available. Then I asked if I could increase the insurance from $14 to the $50 policy, and was told no because he would have to cancel the contract and write a new one. I really did not have the time or energy to make the gentleman do that. When I returned to my warehouse I called the customer service number listed on the web site to see if I could get the additional insurance. I was told no and that I should bring the vehicle back if I was that unhappy! I asked the customer service rep. if U-haul was in the business of renting damaged equipment. She said no. I have rented 7 u haul trucks since January 2017 and never experienced any thing like this. I usually go to the 6210 Chef Menteur location and they are very nice and helpful. Perhaps the associates at the St. Claude location and the customer service rep can spend some time with the manager at the Chef Menteur store and see how it should be done.

Nobody helped me and clerk woman got mad at me. I was being really nice considering it was raining on all my belongings as she berated me and told me she didn't work at this location. Hopefully someone will actually see this. Please just be helpful to me and act like I an actual human being. The whole staff was in a foul mood.

The rep behind the counter was new and had a hard time getting me my storage unit, we unloaded and waited for the manager to arrive at close to help get us a unit (over an hour) and when he finally showed up he was helpful in getting us our unit; the guy just needed to be trained better.

Despite the fact that this is the 2nd time I have booked a uhaul through this specific location, the manager at this location treated me like a criminal when he found out I was paying in cash. Even though the Uhaul screen said I only needed to deposit $100 if I would be to pay in cash, he wouldn't let me have the truck for less than $200. It was offensive and embarrassing and I will not be using Uhaul to book trucks if they continue to employ people with no customer service skills.

Everything was great. Truck was available upon our arrival. The only improvement I would suggest is to get some additional help; we arrived at 8:30am and there was a line ahead and behind us, and only one person working the checkout. When we returned it a little after 7pm, same situation.

The van was infested with roaches. It was disgusting. When I returned the van and the staff knew it was infested with roaches and said the bug bombed the van but were not sure they were dead before they sent it back out. The staff were nice about it, but they should have offered to do something.
